That's probably in the ballpark. They need 371 to reach the guarantee. If my math is correct they are giving away 185 seats through daily tournaments and cash game drawings, plus at least 29 more through satellites.

Half the seats will be freerolling? Yeah, no way I can miss this tournament. Unfortunately I live a few hours away and don't really have a shot at getting a free seat. Last time I was there and they were drawing $400 seats my table was picked 3/4 times I was there and I bubbled 2/3 .

For sure. I usually stay with a girl down there, but she may be out of town during the main so I'll PM you a few weeks before.

Glad you mentioned the HPT, I always forget to even look to see what they have going on!

They are all pretty close in terms of action except Cincy has far better PLO action. But yeah, just look at Bravo and it will show all the numbers.

The 1/2 plays bigger in cbus due to higher cap and Mississippi straddle, but that keeps a continuous 2/5 from running like it does in cincy.

Are all the PLO games capped at 100bb buy-in?

If you're set on 1/2NL and $400 max buy-in then cbus will give you a little better action vs. 1/2NL $200 max in Cinci.

That being said "Cinci > Cbus" in almost all areas (floor/service/games/structures/etc...) and probably not worth the drive north IMO ... especially in the summer time.

Playing 2/5NL in Cinci will probably make you much happier; as someone who often drives down to Cinci from north-cbus.

Cbus 2/5NL will turn into a 5/10NL game (few times per month) with a $5 30-minute timed rake; but everyone has to agree in making the change. This is an active discussion on the cbus 2p2 thread if you check there.

No, 1/2 is $500 max( though it's a $5 bring in), 5/5 is $1K max, and I think 5/10 is a $2K max but I've seen people buy in for more depending on what dealer is up there. I could be wrong on the 5/10, I'm always the nit buying in for $1K when I play it.

Has anyone played in the 1st Saturday $50K guarantee tournaments before? I'm probably going to head down for the one this Saturday but was curious about previous turnouts.

Best ones would mainly be north of the city off of interstate 71 in the Kenwood or Blue Ash areas...both have easy access to the highway and the casino is directly off 71 as well. There are hotels downtown, but you can get a better value, and room for the most part staying in these areas. One thing that may be helpful too is the casino exit says Reading Road/Gilbert Avenue. If you stay in the left exit lane, that will take you to Gilbert, and the parking garage will be on your right. If you would rather valet park(free for platinum and above), you can go past the parking garage and the Greyhound station and make the first right, then the next right, then about a half mile ahead will be the valet entrance. A quicker way to the valet is if you stay in the right exit lane(watch for merging traffic coming from your right), go through two traffic lights and the valet will be your second casino entrance.

Its cheap enough to hotwire a room downtown. Ive dont this twice and once I got the Cincinnatian and the other time I got the 21c hotel. Both were excellent and they have a free shuttle that takes you to and from the casino that runs 24/7 if you dont feel like walking a few blocks. You have to pay to park downtown but you can always drop your bags then park for free at the casino.

What did you pay each night? Want to be within walking distance of PBS and the Horseshoe (shuttles ok for this).

I think the cincinnatian was a 3 star hotel for 90ish and 21c was a 3.5 star for 120ish.
