Good room. Been there a few times to play 1/2. Wildly different kind of players. This past Saturday people were straddling every turn, calling raises with 5-8 off suit...basically just throwing money around.

The beautiful thing is, there is always a game running. Don't even try Hollywood anymore, its dead.

It seems like there is a $1 per 100 credits if you use the points at the shop or for food at the Shoe, versus a much lower percentage if you try to buy something from the catalog. Seems like 100 credits are worth like 50 cents.

Am I correct here or missing something. Saving points for an Ipad in the store

If you eat at Horseshoe, couldn't you just use the money saved via using reward credits towards buying an iPad at a cheaper non-casino price? And yes, 100 credits = $1 and the catalog lists the items at full or more than full price with points.

I haven't checked the price of the iPad at the Horseshoe gift shop. The other stuff they sell is fairly normally priced.

I had a 24 hour layover in Cincinnati and played at the Horseshoe this past Tuesday. Second time I've had a long layover there and both times I spent the day playing poker. What a great room! Beautiful layout and very well run. Also, very nice players. I realize this is a small sample size, but I will be trying to get more trips there.

Haven't played here in a while. Are L08 games being run anymore? What's the PLO scene like?

Yes, the best chance you'd have at getting a game going is Wed/Fri/Sat. Friday afternoon/evening seems to be more consistent of the 3 and Wed/Sat are spotty. When I checked this past Friday I believe there was a full table with 6 on the list. Not sure how long it went and if they opened a second table.

Don't know about PLO. I'd imagine a few regs are in Vegas this time of year...

1/2 goes basically every day, tuesday/sunday can be slow. 5/5 goes W/F and usually Saturday, and couple of the other days. 5/10 W/F

I'd consider driving from a couple hours away for 10-20, 15-30, or 20-40 OE.

Same here as long as it would be a Friday night, Saturday or Sunday.

Greetings! I'll be heading out to Cinci over 4th of July weekend to catch the Reds series. Staying at the Westin. I assume there would be no issues walking to the casino from there (or GAB) during the day. But any thoughts on walking back to the Westin at night? Probability of getting hit over the head high? And, can I assume that cabs are readily available at the Shoe? Thanks in advance,

Pete

Walking during the day is not a problem at all....at night back to the Westin from GABP not an issue either. From the casino to the Westin or GABP at night isn't awful but maybe a couple shady blocks. Cabs are available out front and only $5-6 to the park. Uber works well too. There is a casino shuttle to the hotels I think that runs every half hour.

The shuttle may give you a good option to and form the hotel/casino as well. It runs most hours. http://www.horseshoecincinnati.com/h...l#.U7M-KvldWG0

Called room, they guesstimate around 150-180 runners for Sat $400. I would expect a tad less considering the WSOP is on.

That's about right, they need 143 to cover the guarantee, and I believe that has happened every month.

There are very few players who play the $400 monthly that play the WSOP. My guess is 164 .

You mean the Cincy poker pros do not make the trip?? Don't blame them, playing face up vs tough fields is neg EV.

The monthly $400 at Cincy is harder than 95% of WSOP events lol. There is also many Cincy players that went to the WSOP this year.
