The 1/3 holdem game is on the board but rarely goes AFAIK. Someone at my PLO table said it went a few times mostly populated by 2/5 holdem players but it tends to break when they start another 2/5 holdem.
The 2/5 holdem does appear to be weak at Foxwoods. Yes it can be tight and nitty at times but they need to use more sense when starting games as I'd hate to see it disappear. (it's still profitable to beat up on OMCs and nits). For example I've seen them start a second 2/5 holdem game when it was clear to anyone who pays attention that the existing 2/5 holdem game had several 2-5 PLO players in it waiting for that game to start and the 2/5 holdem list had several PLO players standing around (or killing time in 1/2 holdem) that would almost certainly take the PLO game when it started. Sure enough the PLO game starts a bit later breaking the second 2/5 holdem game which obviously pissed off a few holdem only players. Better would be to start the first 2/5 PLO game before the second 2/5 holdem "must move" game.
Foxwoods (especially during the day) has more than it's share of passive, nitty, OMCs playing 1/2 holdem. After all these years of inflation you would think 1/3 would be the small game. I wish they would promote the heck out of 1/3 holdem getting enough 1/2 holdem game players to move over and get used to it and then eliminate the 1/2. After all an open limp in a 1/3 cost about the same compared to a small order of McDonalds fries these days as an open limp in a 1/2 cost in McD fries a few years ago.
