I would bet they’d rather keep the room closed over putting any more money into it.

Would be nice, but not likely. That's some major expense for equipment that would only be used for a temporary period, a period in which activity will be decreased, for a game that had sagging activity before COVID-19 anyway.

I just realized that it's the one year annv of FW remodeling their buffet. That will come in handy for next 5 years when all buffets will be banned. FW always has that perfect timing.

I'm sure the buffet will reopen (not right away though) but won't be self-service anymore. It'll be cafeteria-style where workers behind it put the items on your plate for you.

With word getting around about Mohegan doing a soft opening next Saturday...I wonder if Foxwoods is getting ready as well?

Not going to happen soon according to this article from yesterday.

https://www.ctpost.com/news/coronavi...s-15278565.php

They just had their first conversation with the state about opening and reading between the lines, it didn't go well.

That may have been a fake email that someone picked up and ran with. There appears to be no opening date yet. I’d guess both places will be opening at the same time

Any word on poker being included when they first open back up?

It’ll be announced today that Mohegan and Foxwoods will be jointly opening first week of June. Announced in a video from Mohegan CEO to employees,

Mohegan letter was officially sent to tenants to prepare them for opening.

Yep now on multiple news outlets that both will begin reopening on June 1st

Unless they worked something out, they both appear to be giving Lamont a giant middle finger

Yep, It says they will aim to welcome only CT and RI residents.

That will be interesting how they enforce it

My guess is that they will check ID's.

At least they are trying.
Even a small step toward normalcy is a giant leap forward.
Poker will have to wait....

Well that’s obvious. What I meant was there are a lot of high ranking TG and slot players from Mass. Are they really gonna turn them away if they show up?

And turning them away after driving all that way? That won't piss anyone off.

Poker will be back soon enough. Once Casino X sees (open poker) Casino Y doing just fine each place will remove it's restrictions. Everything back to normal July/August.

Or these breeding grounds fuel a spike in cases, it rips through the employees and we have another set back. I hope you're right.

No MA/NY residents, no out of state buses, no poker or dine-in service. https://www.wfsb.com/news/mohegan-su...f93f7acdb.html

Gotta love casino logic. "we won't be advertising to players in MA & NY"

Except for the text, email, and app notification I got about their reopening.
