a drink tip standard is $1.
5 bucks to touch a poker player for 10mins is slave wages

Haven't seen them myself, but this seems to be discussing those automatic massage chairs you see in malls, not a certified masseuse.

Encore masseuse is $2/minute, so I guess $5 for 10 minutes is "below standard", though you obviously get a much better massage from a trained therapist vs a glorified recliner.

I wasn't aware there was big hue and cry over the enslavement of machines.

Considering some of the weak "rubbings" I see a lot of poker room masseuses giving (legit no actual muscle massaging), I think the floor is a lot higher for one of those chairs than a person...

And just wait until the pocket chip vending machine gets installed. Those machines are going to be worked!

Don't usually spend on table-side massages, so I can't comment much there. But yesterday was my birthday, my mother-in-law sent me $100 and a card, so I decided to splurge on a massage at Encore last night while playing 1-3. I had taken a nap in the afternoon and something in my lower back was unhappy. She went to town. I was cringing and turning into a puddle in my chair all at once. Guy next to me decided to get a massage from another masseuse while I was getting mine, and he said she worked it too. So, at least at Encore, I can say you're likely to get your money's worth.

There's one in particular at Encore I've found myself getting up to 30-45 minutes at a time - she's that good. Only problem is she works graveyard shift so I need all the coffee I can get to stay awake

I had one at Encore one day when I had a knot in my shoulder. 15 minutes and she worked it out. Was way better than I expected.
If they would run some sort of a discount for longer massages, I’d be in trouble.

Bob kraft specials and the place would be mobbed.

The lastest Foxwoods Management Genius: Due to inclement weather, the Rainmaker cage (the one for the poker room) was closed all day yesterday. You could generally buy your chips at the table, but your cash out had to be done at the Great Cedar cage. It was absolutely ridiculous considering there were actual employees at certain times working in the Rainmaker cage, they just weren't available to customers.

Idk if it is just me but it seems like the dealers are slower than ever. Yesterday a player yelled at a dealer to stop talking and keep the game moving. That particular dealer would constantly stop while engaged in conversation with players. Most dealers just move in slow motion.

I wonder if it is the lower energy in the room with less tables. Whatever the reason it wasn't good.

I was at TR last night, but the past few Thursdays have been DEAD at FW. Despite the double points promo, the room seems to be asleep. I think the lack of action must contribute to the low energy from the dealers. Conversely, at one of the recent high hand days it seemed like everyone was hustling.

It would be good to get a dealer's perspective: do you move quicker when the room is busy or there is a high hand?

thrilling thursday starts at 10am.

from past experience, what time do i need to be in the room to be seated within 30/45 minutes? will the room be near packed at the start?

thanks!

If you get there a little early or on time you shouldn't have to wait long. They start calling 2-3 tables at a time. Also, a little tip, when the front desk gets crowded, head over to the self-service kiosk and swipe in. It will put you ahead of all of those people waiting to give their initials.

Really? The one time I went I arrived at 10am and despite being on a ton of lists, waited for close to 3 hours

I think I've been to the past one or two and it hasn't been terrible. Although I've mostly been playing the 20-40 stud game for the past two years, but I still sit at a 1-2 or 2-5 until I get a seat in that game.
