Hmmmm. So Foxwoods has 4 main competitors, two of which don’t allow any smoking on the property, 1 doesn’t allow smoking on the whole level that the poker room is situated on and Mohegan which is also closed off by glass doors. So Foxwoods offers no advantage in this situation

I find it suspect that you made an account to post this tidbit

Absolutely loathe smoking and being subjected to second hand smoke. Never in almost 20 years have I experienced this in Foxwoods poker room. Not in the old upstairs location where the Racebook was just around the corner and never in the "basement". I've never even smelled it drifting down, nevermind contaminating my clothes. And even after walking through the casino to get to a restaurant or the garage and trailing behind active smokers have my clothes taken it on.

I'm guessing they've been telling their significant other they quit smoking years ago, whenever they got caught smelling of cigarettes this was the story they told and now are trying to create an online alibi.

It depends which exit you use to get to the cashier cage on the other side. If you exit to the Hard Rock Cafe side you’re ok however if you take the shorter route through the slot machines you will be covered in more tar and nicotine then you ever would have in the basement.

Impressive first post otherwise.

I would smell it under the opening from time to time, but it could often be far worse if you had a table near the doors by the old cafe.
I guess it depends on your sensitivity to the smell.

Does Foxwoods match other casino's cards? I'm Diamond Caesars and Hilton Honors/Gold.

Hilton Honors Gold? I used to be that for staying at Hilton...do they have a casino card too?

No, but you can take Hilton Gold, match it for Wyndham Diamond, then match that for Caesars Diamond, so he probably felt it was worth mentioning in case Foxwoods did anything similar like that.

Yes absolutely. 2/5NL and PLO draw well during any FW tournament series with bigger games also running most nights. They have also increased their 2/5 max to 700 effective yesterday I believe.

I've read ITT that comped rooms for the current month are based on play from three months ago, IIRC. I don't know more first hand. However, Sept offers are already out and I imagine the rooms allotted to comps for August have all been booked by now.

Did anyone else hear about 3X tier points on August 9th? The floor mentioned it today. I searched my emails I didn’t see it. They said it was open to everyone. Can anyone else confirm?

Yes, Sept 6th as well. It's on their website. They usually add it to Bravo 1-2 weeks beforehand. I never get a specific email about it. They used to list it in the monthly offer brochure they send you (email and snail mail) but looks like they don't anymore. It's good to regularly check the promotions page: https://www.foxwoods.com/promotions/

It seems they've made it a regular thing, every month an early Friday is a 3x day.

Send emails to some people but not others. This ****ing place, lol. But yes, it's open to everyone, and eligible for everything except bingo.

I saw yesterday that the festival casino is walled off on both sides. Anybody know if it's closed for a long term remodel or only certian days/times?

Closed permanently... the roof was deemed unsafe and in need of structural repair... managements lack of desire to spend the cheddar necessary to properly fix it combined with the trend of downsizing gaming area square footage due to increased area competition lead them to just close it rather than repair it.

It's on Bravo now (along with Sept 6th).

Game report, Saturday 8pm:

Foxwoods - 22 tables total (7 1/2nl tables)
Encore - 64 tables total (29 1/3nl tables)

This is probably the new reality for Foxwoods now.

Mohegan 24 (13 1/2’s)

There were 4 Foxwoods regs in my game at Mohegan earlier this week. They have lost their base to every single surrounding room. That’s impressive.

Curious what the poker player count was at Mohegan and Foxwoods on a Saturday night before Encore opened ?

Has it dropped significantly ?

Oh my god what is that overpowering sewer smell in the Panera/Fay-Da hallway?
How is this allowed to stay like that?

Yes it has - with encore running 60-80 games on the weekends Foxwoods is down to the high 20s. I remember the weekends in the summers when it was 50-65 tables regularly for FW. Mohegan finally took a bite out of that, then came MGM Springfield, now encore. Just wait until Encore starts having tournaments, as Scott Nguyen would say “it’s gonna be all over baby”
