I'm not so much concerned with the cash scene, but I will be interested in seeing what happens with FW tourneys when Everett opens. Its one thing to travel to the middle of nowhere CT when there's a large prizepool awaiting (something that has become less and less certain over the last few years as FW has scheduled their events in a less and less rec friendly manner), but I don't see why any tournament player from Boston-north (and there are a ton of them) would make that trek if Everett offers something as or more compelling.

I was speaking to a dealer at Chasers who moved to New England once he was hired to be part of the Encore Management team. He shared with me that the Poker Room Mgr coming over from Macau is not a big tournament guy. This dealer said they will have your typical daily events but that the PRM is not a fan of the large tournament series. Take that for what it's worth.

He’ll learn how to be one real quick. He’s coming from Macau where there’s not much of a tourn scene besides massive buyin events.

I wasn’t sure either, but he is the one that said he’s always up for a “meatup”

If true that would be missing a big opportunity. Large field events not only make lots of money, if scheduled properly, but they also bring people to the casino to spend money on other things who might not otherwise do so.

I guess we'll see.

China poker market =/= American poker market. What a dumb statement by Rhodyguys source. Just Imho. Poker room director is probably fully aware of that dynamic.

It’s absolutely ridiculous to think that a 100 table room in Boston won’t be having tournaments. But hey, I KNOW a dealer

So In the “Gotta Love Foxwoods” category of stories.... I’m playing there this week at a 1-2 game, when one of the regular-old timers, goes all in. I look at my hand and I see 2 red AA, so I go all in to isolate just in case. Everyone folds, he’s holding the 2 black AAs. No flush to be, pull back what you have. The dealer tells us that he needs $1 from each of us because of the pot size, that the rake needs to be $5! The whole table is floored by this. I know I should have called the floor, but we didn’t. I think we were too shocked!

Like I said... “Gotta Love Foxwoods”!

The dealer is right. The all-in + call is part of the pot.

Uhhhh. Yeah. Rake. It’s a ***** but calling the floor is just a waste of time. Rake is spelled out on that little plaque.

How and why would you have called the floor?
For a dealer actually doing his/her job of taking rake?

Ah the good old “the chips never crossed the line” trick! Always worth a try

All in and a call. Chips go into the pot. Dealer takes the rake out. Then the pot gets chopped after the runout.

Why? What for? Chips never crossed the line?
So suddenly verbal isn’t binding?
What’s those two all in buttons doing in front of each player dealer?
“They both announced all in boss”
Boss - “ok if they really want time wasted next time, count stacks and bring all chips and, then rake the pot... chop the out up then take $5 from each stack for yourself for wasting your time”

Bye.

If this was in response to mine post...

My bad, I suppose my post was a bit ambiguous and could be interpreted differently than I meant it. I am not advocating for the stacks to be counted etc prior to the flop being dealt.

Even though this is TECHNICALLY supposed to be done (in an ideal world, all pre-flop bets should join pot prior to flop being dealt), I’m obviously fine with it PRACTICALLY not being done when it will result in a chop 99% of time.

But that seemed to be the misunderstanding of original post. The all-in chips are SUPPOSED TO be in the pot (even if they physically aren’t in the pot) and the pot needs to be raked as a $400 pot instead of a $3 pot.

It would be ridiculous if a 100 table room wouldn't have tournaments. Of course that isn't what I stated above by the member of the management team.

Hi, I'm heading to Foxwoods in January and will be playing 2/5 there for the first time, therefore I wanted to ask some questions to prepare myself and I appreciate all feedback!!

- What differ the 2/5 most from the 1/2 games at Foxwoods?
- What is standard open sizing and what is standard 3bet sizing IP/OOP?
- What days/time of day is (usually) the games best?
- Is it profitable to bluff players or do they call down very light?
- Is it profitable to implement 4bet bluff range in normal games vs regs?

Thanks!!

FW is the only place I've complained about lighting. The narrow band LED lights where the ceiling is low are very bad for people with borderline eyesight.

First time back in this thread in several months and can’t help but to laugh. FW players and haters alike have been discussing the impending doom of the FW poker room for years yet it’s still there. Too bad nothing exciting seems to happen to give something else to talk about itt.

Kinda funny it keeps hitting when it barely has any big funds in it. When there was nothing but the BBJ that thing wouldn’t hit for months and obviously larger amounts cause there were no other promos
