Someone on the Facebook page said that he got a letter saying that they are coming out with a new card system next year. Did anybody get this? If so are there any details?

Do not swipe your card for horse betting. I speak from first hand experience. Send me a PM if you want to know why, I don't want to mention it here.

Any idea who would one see about getting an offer matched? I got one that I think might work out nicely for me.

Also, I got the letter about evaluating the rewards program and new program at the beginning of the year. The timing was interesting because I had just come home from my weekly stay and had complained at the rewards desk about not being able to get my 15 points except on Wednesday. I didn't care about any of other day specific offers, but not being able to get the points kind of ticked me off. The desk said I wasn't the only one and suggested I call someone, which i did, after getting forwarded to a few department I got to talk to someone about my weekly points that I use at the gas station to defer the $40 in gas I spend round trip. They had my players info, so maybe the letter was in response to my call. It was personalized and signed by the new marketing guy. No details, but nice enough form letter.

On Tuesday I had a $25 food coupon but unless you go to a high end place, there has to be a little strategy to use it.

Timed Juniors to get a $12 omlette for breakfast, while then ordering a $14.00 corned beef and tongue sandwich to go. Someone at a table later told me there was a run on dunkin donuts in the morning as people were ordering them by the dozen to use up the coupon.

I don't know about the offer match. Try the Rewards desk I guess.

Most people got the letter by now (I got mine yesterday). They must've mailed them out on Monday. It's a generic letter that says something like:

"Dear <name>, Thank you for being a loyal <card> member. You should know that although your card is stamped to expire on 9/31/13, it is being extended until 1/31/14. On or about Feb 1st, we are implementing a new rewards card system. You will receive a new card that is appropriate for you. Best Regards, <I forget the guy's name, the new CMO> (with the stamped signature and his picture)

No details whatsoever yet on what the new system will entail. I'll keep my ears open.

Haven't received that letter yet, but I did get this when I got my September rewards in the mail.

Dear (ME), I recently joined the team at Foxwoods Resort Casino, and I couldn't be more excited about all the changes we're making! For example, who could use better rewards? We think everybody. So we are changing into a place that gives you more. From now on, you can expect bigger offers, better gifts, more exciting events - in short, more of what you deserve as a loyal Foxwoods guest. But don't take my word for it, take a look through this mailer. I think you'll find some of the improvements I'm talking about. I hope you'll take advantage of all that's in store, because the Foxwoods team and I have one priority - YOU. Sincerely, Gary DiBart CMO

What did I get?
$10 Match play Mondays
$10 restaurant coupons on Tuesdays
10 point Wednesdays - when I used to get weekly!
$10 match play Thursdays on the 5th and 12th
$10 Stop and Shop card on Sept 26th
Bonus slot play on Sept 28th - 1pt for $15, 10pts for $35
$10 Match Sundays
$10 gas card Sept 19

As you can see these are all over the board, if I was there that much I wouldn't have job..maybe that's what they're hoping?

If you ask me, these are going to tick more people off than make them come by more often.

It's too big so it's so spread out, Twin River opening hurt them a little and the casinos in NY and PA hurt them a lot. Just to name a few

I think the game of the future has found a home in Maryland

Here is a list of the games running on a Friday night at 1:00 am at the new MD live casino

7 tables of various plo games (out of 52 total tables which is the room max). I don't know why it doesn't catch on here, why we can't get multiple tables going constantly? Notice they play 2-2, straddles are 5 and table min/max is 200-500. Also note, not one stud table running

2-2 PLO 200-500 3
2-5 NL HOLDEM 200-500 12
5-10 NL HOLDEM 500-2000 2

2-2 PLO 8 200-500 1
8-16 OMAHA 8 1
5-5 PLO 500-2000 3
1-2 NL HOLDEM 100-300 24

Current Waiting List

1-2 NL HOLDEM 100-300 72
2-5 NL HOLDEM 200-500 86
2-2 PLO 8 200-500 14
2-2 PLO 200-500 13

How long can you screw people before this happens anywhere. Mass casinos will be the nail in the coffin

How would you say Foxwoods is screwing people? Only thing people are going to get from the mass casinos is a shorter drive.

And worse game selection.

A half hour drive compared to a hour and a half is worth more then rooms comps will ever be.. Foxwoods will always have better tournament turnouts no matter what happens. I mean look at it now. Mohegan has much better tournament structures when they have a tourney series and the idiots STILL choose Foxwoods. All Foxwoods has to do is add more tournaments and people will come.

I wonder how much Twin River opening poker tables would hurt Foxwoods. Table games is one thing, but poker would really hurt the traffic coming in from Mass. I think its inevitably going to happen, especially with how well Twin River is doing with the table games. Its always packed.

If TR is always packed, why would they add poker instead of table games?

But there's alot of rumors going around that they do have plans to open a poker room very soon.

Poker isn't a big money maker so why would they bother as long as they keep filling their TGs

The rumor about a poker room is just that, a rumor. Somehow it started at Foxwoods and it spread all over the place without any say from someone at TR.

Friends with someone very high up at twin river.. its more then just a rumor. While November is out of the question, early next year is very probable.

On a speadsheet, poker is not a huge profit, especially when you consider $/sq. ft.

In reality, poker players provide the casino with people that may play tables and slots with money won that they normally wouldn't wager with.

Take the escalator upstairs to use the bathroom and you will almost always see 3-4 regulars from the poker room dicking around in slots.
