I've always wondered how easy that would be to do, and I always get a general idea of how much I have before leaving the table.

How did that go down? Did the dealer see him? Was the girl there at the time?

The girl had just won a couple big pots and had a bunch of red stacks. Douche Bag asks her to change two black chips. She slides him two stacks and between stacking her chips and getting ready to go for a smoke she does not grab the two blacks sitting between them right away. Douche casually slides his arm over the chips to hide them and then when she goes for a smoke he goes to the cage and changes them out. Luckily the player on the Douche's left saw the whole thing and called him out on it.

I really can't believe that MCC just let that happen like it was no big deal. The guy should be in jail imo. If you tried to do that in a house advantage game do you think nothing would happen at you would be allowed to continue to play? That's criminal. It just shows a huge double standard.

Didn't literally mean the guy should be arrested. But if it was clear that he obviously was stealing and was still allowed to play is very shadey.

Not that I would actually do it, but does anyone know if the Detroit casinos hire prop players? I feel like if I asked the staff they are all so incompetent that they would look at me like I was crazy.

They had to look at the tapes to get the girl her money back since Dbag denied any guilt. Based on the tapes they were able to see she was short money but intent on the Dbag's part could not be proven. That's why he was not kicked out. I was amazed that he had the audacity to stick around all night (although he did eventually change tables very late in the night).

Yea i am not standing for that. I probably try to convince the other players to stop playing until he is gone. I wish i could say i would beat his ass, but the reality is the Casino needs to do their job. I beat his Ass i am sure i would be 86 off the property. Welcome to Michigan. Seems like picking up money off the table and cashing out, but not cashing out all of one's stack, would be pretty good evidence of intent unless there's a better explanation. Reasonable doubt? Maybe, but let the prosecutor decide if it's worth pursuing.

Probably. And give you seven different wrong answers. I'm 99.9% sure they do not.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

OK, sore subject. Depending on the day you ask, Greektown might or might not be allowed to spread stud games.

Based on the one attempt to get a mixed game started, i imagine it will be a while before the topic comes up again.

Douche Bag was back playing last night as if nothing had ever happened. He's a middle aged guy, usually wears a pull-over jacket with some sort of Firefighters logo (I think thats what it is) on it. His name might be Rudy but I am definetely not sure about that.

As far as the tournaments go, I think Greektown actually has a decent structure on some of their tournaments, and I believe they have 2 tournaments a day. As for the charity tournaments, they should be played only for recreational purposes imo. As bad as the players (and they are god awful), you still can't overcome the massive amount that they take off the top of these tournaments and the blind structure is beyond horrible. It is almost criminal they call it a deepstack tournament. It starts out deepstacked for 2 levels when the play doesn't matter and then turns into a super turbo.

- The play at Snookers is terrible but you need to watch out for collusion, some of the regs straddle the line often

Trying to gauge interest again for a regular plo8 game in the detroit area....suiteddeuces had been trying to get a regular game going before he went out west for awhile. A couple of us are trying to get a game 3-4 times a week in the area, looking at possibly snookers again or another charity in the troy/warren/madison heights area... Have already talked to a couple of people on here that have interest. If you're interested shoot me a pm and let me know what days are best or might work for you.
thanks,
dave

I got to Greektown at 6:10 am for the $5/10 "hi-lo" (limit Omaha) game yesterday. It had just started and i was second on the list. I'm debating whether to start arranging my weekly sleeping schedule around this one game.

I don't think the action in the must-move is as good. The MM has been starting around 9:00-10:00, and it was going really strong for several hours yesterday. It's to the point where you run a risk of having to wait for the MM if you get there too late (say, maybe around noon?), and then you'll be at the bottom of the MM game when that game gets short and then breaks in the afternoon.

Would it kill people to learn shorthanded LO8?

I was in the game as well, I believe it started about 6:05. You are correct, it's almost to the point where it's too good to miss. I wouldn't be surprised if in the near future they have 2 tables running by 7am

I've never played in Detroit, are there any regular PLO games? or any regular 5/10+ nlhe games?

Its a pretty game, I had to get there awfully early two weeks ago just to get a seat.

Seems to be some fights breaking out in the charity rooms. Someone was talking about last Wednesday about a fight breaking out in the Omaha Hi game at Sunnybrook, shutting it down for a little while. I just got a txt message from a friend about the guy who runs the room at Continental. I guess he had to bring out a baseball bat to break up a fight from some punks just a few hours ago.

edit: from what I hear this group brought their own set of cards and just started to play their own game.

I was at Continental when this happened. Two guys were sitting at the empty blackjack table when Guy ( main man there) walked over with a bat in his hand and told the two guys playing to stop right away.... They stopped and all was back to normal

Anybody want to play a 3 person team tournament at Vision Lanes on Wednesday? I thought about asking some IRL friends but they're not really competent players.

So is the buy in based on $150 buy in and thus every dollar of the $120 (120/150 = 80%) pre-registrations goes exactly to the prize pool? Or does only 80% of the pre-registration price of $120 or $140 go directly to the prize pool. If 100% gos in, you can essentially buy in vig free if you register on Thursday.

The payout is 80% of the prize pool per charitable gaming regulation. So, 80% of $120, 80% of $140, etc.
