Does any Crown reg have any news on the Aussie Million potentially running in 2023? Can't seem to find anything online.

Talk during the pandemic was that the Aussie Millions won’t be back, and now with the burden of the Royal Commission, I’d be quite surprised if it did return to Crown next year. I’d also heard rumours that it could run somewhere else in Australia. If satellites don’t run in the coming months, then that should be proof enough that there won’t be an AM 2023, at least not at Crown.

I spoke to the staff at length about tournaments on the weekend. Aussie Millions is no chance for 2023 but very likely 2024. Tournaments many months away.

Reason is that for tournaments the games need to be 9-handed, and you can’t have a daily hour limit on players.

Currently it’s 8 handed and you get tapped on the shoulder at 6 hours to check in, then kicked out after a couple more hours (and there’s a 48 hour limit per week or something)

Crown want to increase the players per table and of course remove the hour limit but due to the royal commission and what not, all rule changes that significant take a massive amount of time to approve and go through all the processes, and now there is a separate casino commission that needs to approve certain rules too which is another spanned in the works.

The casino definitely want it but it’s far away for now

Crown turns a blind eye to millions of dollars being laundered, and because of their complicity with organised crime, poker players gambling for a few hundred dollars up to a few thousand dollars have to suffer. Well done Crown management.

Also interesting update for any other higher stakes players in here, last couple of weekends crown introduced a must-move game for the 5/10.

There was a huge problem in the past where people barely ever left the 5/10 tables and by the time they did the top 5 people on the list would have left already, sometimes breaking the game.

Now if you want to play on the 5/10 main game you must play on the must-move which has been interesting. I personally hate short handed which the must move often is but for the greater good of the game am happy to put up with it

I'm assuming this is just for holdem?

Interesting. How is this enforced though? How long before you must move?

If it's like everywhere else, the one who played the longest in the must move game, must move when there's a seat open in the main table (or quit playing alternatively, then the next in line will have to move)

Just ticked past 12am Sunday morning and there’s 95 on the 1/3 list and 40 on the 2/5 list. Tables not listed as Interest so they’re not breaking tables yet. None of the casino games are running in the poker room, they’re struggling for staff.

Is there anywhere that lists the poker games currently running in crown?

On average primetime hours Friday -Sunday how many games are getting up and of which stakes please?

Pre-covid they used to show that info online, what games are running, how many on each list. There was no need for them to remove this from their website.

Yes Kerrr, that's why I asked. What games run mostly? 2/5 through week and some 5/10 at weekends? Any bigger ever run?

1/3 and 2/5 are always running. 5/10 runs almost every day. 1/3 PLO seems to run every day too. I have not seen anything bigger since the re open.

5/10 PLO or even 10/20 PLO has definitely been running on occasion, I’ll double check with the registration desk.

I’m grabbing something to eat right now. As always, 90 on the list for 1/3 and 40 on the list for 2/5. I’d rather Crown just stop offering poker and a dedicated poker room opened up. MPH - Melbourne Poker House!

6:30pm Saturday
1 x 10/20 Limit Omaha (10 waiting)
2 x 1/3 PLO (20)
2 x 5/10 NLH (10)
6 x 2/5 (45)
7 x 1/3 (90)

No pit games running in the poker room, which has been the norm lately.

Apparently in the last round of dealer training, 28 of 30 quit.

Great update. Thanks Kerr. Wow, dealers folding preflop haha.
Amazes me how games as small as 1/3AUD run in a big city like Melbourne. Guess there are a lot of people who don't mind getting screwed by the rake (or blindly don't know/care).

If you want to get seated quick recommend getting there around 8:30/9. Normally when they open a bunch of tables half the list is dead/left the casino, and it moves pretty quick.

Also, most big cities should have a 1/3 with extortionate rake from a business/casino owner perspective. In a city of 3 million, there are always at least 100 people on a night out who want to play poker casually who are **** or have no money. Always will have demand.
Hell 1/2 would still have demand. The amount of 18 year olds I knew who played zynga poker when in middle school and want to play but have no money could prop up the 1/2 economy.

Surely you know we live in a nanny state. I doubt you could record for 5 minutes without staff noticing and asking him to stop, might even threaten to kick him out. Some staff go crazy if you take a photo of a board at showdown.

Imagine if Crown cared half as much about money laundering.
