Silly related question (sorry mods, xpost somewhere): where on 2+2 is any discussion of spread limit strategy?

+1. I am wondering the same thing. For years I have just been looking at the 25NL online section or the live brick and motor section.

No Limit Hold'em -> Live Low Stakes NL

Not often, but sometimes you will see SL. For the most part SL plays like NL so thats probably the spot to go through hands and such.

For the most part I would agree that the 2-100 plays like 1/2NL.

I believe the buy in is maxed at $300, min $50, so pots aren't going to be too massive.

Just like in 1/2NL they seem to be huge limp fests.

Also since you can bet up to $100 anytime (pre-flop onwards) I think it's much better than the $8-16 as you can put in a respectable 3-bet or 4-bet.

IIRC the buy in for the 2-100 game at CP is not capped.

Maybe I'm thinking of Running Aces.

Would be interesting if there was no cap on the 2-100.

Thanks for the info.

I have another question regarding CP and the 2-100.

I played there the other day and noticed some players not showing their cards when someone is all in.

For example, preflop 2 people raise $100 back and forth till one is all in.

Are they both required to turn their cards up at this time? I have seen on multiple occasions where 1 person turns up their cards, and the other person leaves theirs face down until all cards are out, and mucks.

Is this just a lenient dealer? Can we ask to see their cards or Does only the person who is all-in need to show?

Thanks. I normally played 2-100 at RA, but CP is a lot closer to my work.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is the rule right?

In a Cash Game, you are not required to table your hand until showdown and are then able to muck if you choose to, unlike in a tournament when you need to table your hand immediately with an all-in and a call.

My info might be outdated but the winner used to be able to ask to see the mucked hand as long as they hadn't touched the muck. However if the loser misread their hand they would be pushed the pot so it wasn't a good idea to tempt fate (especially late night with drunks who could easily misread). Haven't been there in a long while but thinking of checking out the yellow chips and seeing if any of my dealers are still around. It was a well run room when I was there years ago and the floors made fair rulings.

Most of the dealers from 8 years ago are still there and still one of the best run rooms I have been to

I haven't played poker in years but I just got the bug to do some donating - how is the turnout for the usual Sunday evening $100 tourney? Will it be bigger this weekend because of the MN Freeze Out?

And just curious, anyone know how many players are playing in the freeze out?

What are people's general policies on tipping at the end of a Survival?

2-100 spread limit Holdem and Omaha
300-2500 Surviviors- basically a timed NL game
Various daily tournaments and series

Thanks guys. So how does the 2-100 spread limit actually play out then? Can you raise it to 10 UTG? Essentially up to a cap Pre/flop/turn/river each with $100 max bets?

Is the mix game always hold em/Omaha 8? Is there ever a HORSE game that runs?

Not entirely sure I am reading your question right, but the max bet is per bet, not per street. If you inflate the pot aggressively it is pretty much just trading $100 bets back and forth by the turn. I would say that's somewhat rare.

Basically it plays like a NL game with very little 3 betting pre-flop because people either are truly passive/weak players or deliberately trying to control the pot to have some flop/turn betting room before you are basically value betting $100. So yes, you can go $10 preflop and you will get a pile of callers.

I treat the survivals as a tourney. 1-2% of winnings at the end of the 2 hours if I profited. If I don't make more than the $330 (or whatever limit you are buying in for), I don't tip.

Are you still going to want to tip if you finish under your initial investment if you won X number of pots?

Say you win 10 small-medium pots, and lose a large pot (which puts you well under your starting stack) right before the end of the survival. Are you still going to tip that $10?
