2-100?? Wtf, hope it doesn't kill the other games.

This is exciting news! I like Canterbury so much better then RA.

Is the max buy-in the same as RA? $300?

It was uncapped, but in practice this doesn't make much difference with the $100 bet limit. You will rarely, if ever, be in a position to put in more than $300 or $400 in one hand.

I've seen this happen regularly in the 5-100 game at RA, which is also uncapped. Get the right players and you'll see $100 bets back and forth in an uncapped game.

Been there before - a week ago I had QTxx vs. QQTT with unpaired rainbow board J98xx in the RA 2-100 Omaha game, which is also uncapped. $100 raises back and forth on the river until all-in. Dealer didn't even bother pulling river bets in.

Ahhh I'm pretty sure the construction on the 169 bridge over the river has much more to do with it...

The limit games are still dominating. Even the 2 hour survival tournaments haven't been killed off by the slow-moving high-rake 2-100 games.

played the 2-100 on Fri/Sat and some on Sun. O.M.G. lol The games Fri and Sat nights were insanely good. Won a $1350 pot w/ KK (vs QQ & A9h) .. that was pretty much a cooler spot, but most pots were in the $2-$300 range. Guy to my right (A9h)- Troy I think his name was... was opening every other hand for $20-$40 and getting cc'd in 3-5 spots by PF limpers.

Nice that Canterbury now has spread limit. I usually kept to the survival or the tournaments most of the time because I can't stand the 6-12 and the 8-16 anymore.

Is 169 finished? Haven't made my way down there in a while because of the road work.

Think 169's supposed to be done this week. Last time I went I crossed the 35W bridge then took 13, but that route is no good for the return trip with the two ramps closed there because of issues with cracked bridges (after 8/1/07 you can understand why MnDOT is pretty touchy about this). Almost tempting to use Cedar, Lewis Street, or Chaska...

I concur. I was there on Saturday night and there was a super donk at my table giving me all his money. I think he went to the atm like 3 times. I was there until like 3am. Also, the limit games are still dominating, no need to worry.

Thanks for the heads up.

It's a 45min drive for me to Canterbury and Aces. So I don't want to risk making a 45min drive into a 1h30m drive.

Also, anyone play the Ultimate Overlay last year. It has a very... interesting structure. For the price it seems well worth the prize pool. And do they actually get close to the 850 cap?

It seems odd that day 2 is a Friday, and not a Sunday like most bigger tourneys.

Overlay plus FPC13, action starting to pickup. Plenty of big survivors running on Tuesday 2 1k, 2 2.5k and a 500 PLO

I am coming to Minneapolis October 6 to 9 for a Business Trip and staying at Hilton Minneapolis (1001 Marquette Avenue South.)
Does anybody on this forum drive to Canterbury Park or any other Minneaopolis casino from somewhere near there? If so, PM me and I would be glad to chip in for gas and tolls.
Or otherwise, what would be my closest casino to get to from Hilton and what would be my best option to accomplish that?

Best alternative is to rent a car, either downtown or at the airport (you can get to the airport via light rail). We looked at this earlier in the thread.

And Canterbury is the closest to mpls.

It would be easiest to rent a car. But you might be able to take the light rail to the Mall of America and catch a bus from there to Canterbury or Mystic.

How does the canterbury/mystic shuttle work--is that only on racing days?

427 entries in the 1st event of the Fall Poker Classic. Seems like an unreal amount considering how many they usually get in their weekly tourneys.
