Last night they were running 6 handed double up sit and gos. I didn't play but I think the buy in was $100 ($150 maybe?) with $15 vig. 6 players, top 3 double their buy in. Never seen these live before.

Saw those on Twitter, not sure if they are on the regular or part of iNinja league. Also saw 6-max PLO going which is good to see besides $100 max bet

Both of the previous statements are true. They are now offering 6 handed $115 Double Up Sit 'n' Go's, which are open to anyone and everyone (not just iNinja League Members). The SnGs are a 5k starting stack with 10 minute levels. They are also spreading 1-2 Six Max PLO, which because of previously stated laws becomes a $100 max bet after the pot reaches $100+. The latter game is available anytime, but will probably be most common on Wednesday and Thursdays when Omaha is eligible for the daily promotions.

Hmmmm...never seen any of those games particularly PLO. Would be interesting if they started it though.

We did talk them into spreading 10/20 mix the other day - holdem and omaha. Game was entertaining because 6 of 9 of us had no idea how to play omaha. We tried to get the floor to make some mods (e.g., use $2 chips instead of $5, add stud to the mix, have 9 handed rotations instead of every half hour) but they wouldn't. Claimed it had something to do with the racing commission that I don't buy.

is the 40/80 a 9 handed table?

40/80 Mix-8 is played 8 handed. 40/80 Hold'em and 40/80 Mix are played 9 handed.

Does anyone know how the rewards tiers for MVP cards work (bronze, silver gold)? Tier credits? Benefits for each level? Their website is worthless.

So it looks like they are changing their Saturday $180 tourney for the better.

14k starting stacks, and adding antes:

Much better structure IMO.

Agreed! Hopefully if this new structure is popular on Saturday, they will change the Wednesday tournament as well. But we both know quite a few tight regs probably aren't too happy with this...

Coming to MN in early May. Has the 8/16 game gone to exclusively full kill? Has that changed the dynamics of the game (looser if thats possible)--any impact on the 6/12 game--anybody bail from the 8/16 game?

The 8/16 is a half kill game; no minimum pot size. It appears that the game is equally as loose of not possibly looser. It has, combined with the addition of the 2-100 game, had an impact on the 6-12 game. On average there is 1 less 6-12 game at any given time than there used to be.

Haven't played limit at CP in a long time. Was online player but lived much closer to other card clubs in the area and used to 2/10, 4/20 and 2/60. However going back tonight.

Last I recall 6/12 was hit or miss for action players and 8/16 was a gambol fest but reading the last five pages of this thread it seems that May have changed.

Want to play 6/12, 8/16 or 2/100. Don't really have the roll right now to be comfy at 15/30 and up although I could if absolutely necessary. Thoughts on those games? My game is overall usually pretty TAG and I don't get too out of line however I do like some action. Don't typically as play well in gambol fests with the whole world in and bets flying.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

you know the right answers already, 8/16 half kill is going to be fun on a friday night, play the others if you want a more pedestrian approach.

Frankly, I think that 2-100 is a very erratic game. It is very table dependent. If you're interested in NL and rolled for it, play survivals on Friday or Saturday.

Not sure how many of you saw this, but it looks like Canterbury is doing a Millionaire Maker satellite along with the Main Event satellite.

It awards a seat for every 11 entries, which is much more manageable (IMO) than the every 53 entries of the Main Event satellite.

I'm MN and think available to play Friday night in 2 weeks. Salivating over playing in the new and improved 8/16 game.

Toss up in salivation factor between the 8/16 kill at CP and 5-100 at RA. Both can be amazing

Sigh. Great game but not a good result.

Bled a rack on being card dead. Folding starting cards or completely missing flops. In 5 hours had 2-3 flush draws and 2-3 straight draws. Hit one flush. Had a boat that didn't get paid. No sets.

The dumped the 2nd rack to things led by:

Hero JJ
Board T63r 8r 8
Villain J8.

And the other 8 was dead.

Wait years to finally get out to CP on a Friday night and get done like that. Obv if no plans for the AM would have happily stayed all night with that cast.

Long live CP. Still best room ever.

I feel like the money has kinda dried up at this place. Everyone is a reg. now. Best times to go still Friday and Saturday night?
