Yeah, not many people are coming there to play stud, just the people who make it an appointment when it starts. And it is the smallest game in the house so the rake will hurt the most, unless they charge a lower rake in that game.

Ya, I arrived at 12:10 there were 4 players racking their chips. Since I made 5 they kept playing. I played for hour and we got up to 7 players. Myself and another got called to Satellite and the table broke.

I kind of want to play in it, but I feel like it'd be pissing away money and would get just as much enjoyment from play money on Stars and spend the $100 on something else. Same reason I don't play any of the low limit, FLHE games. I'm not skilled enough to want to try the 8/16.

You'd think that the optimal strategy for these low limit games for the casino would be to lower the rake so that the games don't die as fast...but then you see that there are multiple tables of 3/6 and 4/8 going 24/7/365 so I guess that's not the case.

A room that big should have PLO on the board and it consistently running on the weekends. When I'm there next week I'll put my name on a list for it.

It's almost like they should have this stuff on their website:

(Use arrows to look at upcoming weeks)

Hopefully this is not off topic, but I'm going to move soon along with my family and I am looking at either the Phoenix area, or Las Vegas.

Is it possible to make a living playing poker in Arizona? Playing here at the Arena Poker Room?

Working on the 2/5NL or comparable. Anything less doesn't generate enough money for the time spent to be feasible.

What do you think?

Well there are usually 2-4 of those games going, but very rarely anything higher unless you can play PLO.

Yeah Popey, I agree they should have this stuff on their website...that's why I posted asking to see if they had some in room postings and fliers detailing the schedule for "The week leading up to the Az State Champ" as none of the magic arrows you mentioned to click on detail that particular week of events.

They have added in MTT satties the last few years on a few of the evenings right before the Main starts, so I was hoping they would post that week's schedule somewhere to confirm they were going to continue running them. Also the Monday-Thursday of that week during the day they have traditionally run bigger than usual MTTs, but again, there is still no mention of these on the internet either.

They do list the weekend satellites. Don't hate me. I enjoy trolling.

You always get a free pass to troll as you are the most helpful to anyone showing up with the same random questions over and over in here, so well done on both counts.

For those that like to complain about how cold it is, you should have been there today. Air conditioner broke at 4am and as of 11pm had yet to be fixed. Wasn't very comfortable and the humidity from the light rain didn't help.

That's for sure - a lot folks were struggling with the heat and a couple of guys I know left early because of it. I managed to move seats to one just over an ac vent so it was tolerable, but first time I can remember I didn't need a jacket. It was really funny when the emergency alert for a dust storm blew up everyone's phone - at first I thought it was an announcement over the intercom but no, just a lot of cell phones going mad

The $240 STT satellites are where it's at. Really low rake and very soft. Usually only runs on Weekends though. I'm sure they'll fire a bunch as we get closer to State.

A/C being busted suuuucked. Felt bad for a new dealer who was really struggling with the sticky cards.

So glad that this room is finally on bravo. Question, what's usually included in the 40-80 HL Mix?

It was 2 years ago now the last time I did this sort of transaction, but that was the process I had to do, and both people needed to be present at the cashier to make the switch.
