i hate that. you know you are calling someone down, then your hand improves and they are still think they owned you and you just got lucky. ofc if i had no poker ego this wouldnt bother me but i ofc do.

so i get stuck like 30k at the bellagio, which would be a huge one-session loss for me. i'm tilted like a mofo and it's like 7am--how the f am i gonna dig outta this hole? sure ain't gonna happen at 25-50! but a seat opens up at the 100/200/500-otb game, so i decide to jump in. minimum buy-in is 40k, i sit with 50k, which is roughly 1/4th of my entire bankroll (although i did sell 25% of my action). two hours later, and after winning pretty much every hand i played, i rack up with 120k.

brag: 70k is easily my biggest one-game win ever.

beat: was stuck 30k in the first place, and have to pay out almost 18k to my investor.

still, pretty sweet.

when you get like 8 hands an hour losing 300bbs in a session is a rough couple orbits.

Didn't think it was your regular game, but I thought you'd played it. And therefore I was surprised that you'd never lost a few big pots there. I mean, obviously 30K is a big loss, I was just surprised that it would be huge for you, since I know you've played pretty high before. No big deal.

eh, not really, i was never put to any tough decisions. kenny tran bluff-raised me on the turn on a board of K85-K when i had AK, but he didn't pull the trigger on the blank river (he thought about it long and hard, tho). the last hand i played i got 22k aipf with JJ, was lucky enough that the other guy had TT. i just played straightforward and got run over by the deck for a couple dealer-downs.
