Most reasonable spin-sat structure to date, imho, although the 7% rake is meh. Interesting that they require every ticket won to be used -- a decision they reversed after trying it in regular SNG satellites.

is it 6% or 7% ?

4.70+30 is 6% ?

Where did you find the '4.70+0.30' figures?

Have you calculated how many VPPs you earn per game?

I've taken out the good old Windows calculator and it says the rake is 7%. So does the website.

Yeah, it's 7% assuming those payouts are correct. The game lobby says $4.70 + $0.30.

I've checked and it turns out that I've been given 1.65 VPPs per game, which means that the rake is 6%. So they need to renew the paytable on the web page.

For a low stakes grinder this is a nice little cash grab with lower variance. Enjoy C00n

Except for the part where the low-stakes grinder has to play $215 large-field MTTs.

Don't worry, I'm semi-rolled for the SM itself, just I was too lazy to play it in absence of spins feeding into it (from which and not from the SM itself the main profit is to be derived).

Btw, it's bizarre to me why Stars have come up with those gimmicky chances out of 1M ending in 943 when a common denominator of 200 would have sufficed.

Perhaps some high-level hypnomarketology was involved in their decision on the probabilities.

But regardless, it turns out that, even if the $215 was paid out in cash, the BR needed to grind the SM spins would be 1.5-2 times higher (1.5x for a mediocre reg, 2x for a good one, as the latter needs so little when the payout structure is well-balanced) than the one needed for the old-style $5 BI $1M spins given the same post-rakeback ROI.

Can you elaborate why? Where does the 2 times higher bankroll come up?

Key pricing changes include:
• SPIN & Go rake will be increased by one percentage point for buy-ins from $1 to $30 (two percentage points in $3 buy-in). $0.25, $60 and $100 buy-ins will not change.
• In multi-table tournaments, PokerStars will match the practices deployed in our closed liquidity markets where rebuys and add-ons incur fees similar to the original entry. These tournaments represent approximately 12% of the current main schedule.
• MTT hyper-turbo rake will be increased to 5%.
• Cap and percentage of rake will be increased in some no limit and pot limit ring games, mainly heads-up. Some rake caps will be lowered. Limit games will not be affected.
As a result of these changes, PokerStars expects that the overall impact will be a rake increase of 4%. PokerStars will continue to monitor its games and make regular adjustments to pricing whenever necessary.

1% rake hike for 30s is terrible. I've been defending stars a lot with their recent changes, but now they are just going crazy. It's not as if the average reg is killing these games.

I'm starting to think that they will end up killing their games.

With regard to jackpot SnGs, Stars will soon cease to be the site with the (equally) lowest rake in the industry, stay tuned. (I'm not even talking about the ****ty VIP program, just about bare rake.)

Clearly stars endgame includes raking the same AND having the same traffic.
Can't wait for the new twist at the blog with beautiful graphs:

"See our competitors have 3k players online, but we, oh we crush them so hard with 3.5k players at peak times. So come play here!"

The numbers on the site aren't making a lot of sense at the moment. Computed rakes are all .8 lower than the stated rake (for example, the 8% tier computes out to an actual 7.2% and similar for the other rake tiers.) There is also some confusion on when the new rake levels will be implemented. Some report emails stating today, but the blog says the 28th.

I think I'll wait for the dust to settle before updating the presets in SwongSim.

I wonder if this scenario was covered in spin4play's prop terms.

Why should he care? I seriously doubt 30s regs will move up to 100s because of the lower rake. Obviously rake increase at the level he plays will likely (and fairly) lead to just calculating according to CEv/game.

I missed the part where they reduced the top-tier frequency from 3 per million to 1 per million, so it looks like the stated rake percentages are unfortunately correct.
