He got second in the PartyPoker $6r on Sunday 12.5k gtd for $1,460. All he needed was $200 to make it past the 10k online MTT profit and he leapfrogged that.

I have to apologize for the slow posting over the past week or so... I actually had this whole story already written out but being around all these guys here is so much fun

Anyways it's nice to finally be able to bring this whole intro series thing to a conclusion... I didn't originally plan for it to turn out this long so I hope I haven't annoyed anyone and that most of you that have read it have found it at least mildly interesting or entertaining.

We've spent more than 1/2 of this first month here having to get stuff in order to be able to play. Injury and I only just got our money released by Carbon in the past week and Injury just got a computer capable of handling all the sites on Thursday. We're all set now to get on the long grind so we should be alot more active in this thread with challenges, hand histories, and sweats (on top of all the non-poker stuff) as October begins!

Now without further ado, the conclusion to my introduction:

About a month after making my first deposit on Merge in quite awhile I was playing merge almost exclusively . Their software was worlds better than ACR and as I started playing Merge I naturally wanted to play less ACR and not have to deal with the "disappearing buttons" problem among other things.

I had a nice March... I made enough money on merge that month to have a roll. Unfortunately, April and May were terrible and I broke even. I was running the worst that I ever had in my life. To make matters worse, as I started getting frustrated with the variance, I began to play spewy, tilted and too aggressively. On the first week of June I went to the beach on vacation with my family and some friends including DatsOnSalp. That week allowed me to get my head away from poker, the downswing and all the variance that was polluting my thought process and rationality.

By the end of that week at the beach I decided that it was my last chance to give poker a shot and try to get to Costa Rica with Jgold and DatsOnSalp. I made a mission for myself that I would play everyday for as long as I could with as many tables as I could and within reasonable bank roll management limits. If I didn't have enough $$ to get to Costa Rica in time I would move on with life without poker. If I busted my roll during that time I would move on.

I went from playing an avg of 6 tables for 4 hours a day to playing an avg of 12 tables for 7.5 hours a day. The added volume helped me to both stay steady mentally and to become very in touch with the game which allowed to me to see tendencies and find edges I never knew existed before.

I ended up turning $400 into $11k from June 10th to August 15th and now here I am!




I'm by no means financially comfortable but I'm confident in my game. I think with these guys around me, the sky is the limit for me in poker.

I finally have a computer capable of running everything I need without having any problems(I just need to stay away from addicting PC games ahah!! ). It has now been one day short of 2 months since I have played an MTT session and I CANNOT WAIT TO GET BACK AT IT. So what better to kick off the grind again then a 24 hr+ marathon!?!

Yuppppp Jgold and I starting in about 3 hours will be going into LOCKDOWN! I plan to get a ton of games in and come back in here as zombie injury with a nice graph for everyone! To get ready for the session however I must now go get some food, a shower, and a nice mini session of Borderlands 2 in real fast =p. Be good all, ill be back tomorrow night with a report!

I Soooooooooo want to get my game and BR to the place where I could move to an exotic local, and grind on the " Other Sites" It has been so long, I almost forget their names. Anyways, I am subbed. SO... we have some bad news to report... Injury and Jason didn't complete their challenge. As a matter of fact they didn't even make it through 8 hours.



They started at around 11:30 pm and Injury played 20 tournies and then quit at about 4am.

Jason made it for about 8 hours before he threw in the towel.



As a consequence for their failed challenge and letting you all down...

We decided that they will have to complete a PENALTY STUNT!!!!

We are still trying to figure out what we should make them do and are very open for suggestions from all you readers!

Also, if possible, we will try to record the stunt on video and post it on here

Alright everyone I know it is a little bit late but I want to set some October goals for myself in here.... Also, we are still trying to figure out a good penalty stunt for Injury and Goldy so ideas would be very appreciated

So living in Costa is amazing for an tournament player... especially one that has never played on anything except for merge, ACR, and Revolution.

90% of the tournies I enter have $1k first prizes and the games are WAY WAY softer than merge on everything except for Stars and Full Tilt (which are WAY WAY harder than merge).

Basically any time of the day (literally 12am-11pm) it is possible to play a full schedule with nice prizepools. There really is no excuse for missing out on volume. I am most comfortable playing ~9 tables but I can go up to 14-16 for short periods. I feel like I should be able to play ~40 tournaments a day here right now if I play for around 7-8 hours. I hope to increase that with time and as I get more comfortable with the new sites and their software.

That said I have only played 50 total on the first 2 days of October. I have been making alot of deep runs though and am up ~$3,000 already over the past 2 days so I am not totally unhappy but I could definitely play a few more.

For this month I am setting my volume goal for 950 tournaments.

I'll keep the thread updated with my progress, graphs, and possibly hands and sweats.

Unfortunately, Sharkscope doesn't track 888 which is probably the site that I'm playing on the most right now so it is a little bit difficult to show those results (I'll post some graphs from PokerProLabs which does track 888 but its not as clean as SharkScope).

Really? Interesting. As a US player I had no idea. I just figured all non US sites were softer just because ease of access.

The volume makes up for that though right?
