I need to get in the maximum volume so i went up last night to play a quick session. People are noticing that i am becoming a reg, I've been there four nights in a row.

What is your opinion on having top pair with AK on a flop that has all the same suit? What about when a fourth of that suit hits the turn?

Anyway great session last night was up 220 in three hours.

Keep the pot small and try to get to SD cheaply.

The last hand with the AT, your best option is probably to just call and let her fire again. Shoving is going to push off most hands that aren't beating you and take down a small pot, as she's only calling there with an ace or 44, maybe KK-TT or so if she doesn't believe you. I prefer smooth calling and seeing what she bets on the turn. The pot and relative bets will still get big enough by the river to get all-in, but I think shoving isn't the biggest +EV play here, it might not even be +EV at all, tbh.

Pot will be about $75 after the flop with approx $165 behind. Another $50 on the turn brings the pot to $265 and $115 behind, which is an easy all-in bet on the river with good odds for her to call with a worse hand. Also, you give her the chance to try and bluff you off of your hand if she's holding air, if she just doesn't believe you.

I lean towards calling, and if you're going to raise, raising to $70 or so should be enough to find out if your beat without risking your entire stack. If she pushes, you can evaluate the situation from there and decide to call or not.

Just my opinion, of course.

IM LIVING THE DEGEN LIFESTYLE!!!!!

Headed up to the casino around 1AM cause I couldn't sleep. Insta win a huge pot with AK. There are three tables at Casino Niagara and are table breaks. The guy sitting next to me mentions hes heading to Fallsview to play 2/5 so I ask him to bum a ride. So its 3AM I have class in six hours and Im heading to the casino to play way above my roll. #swag. Guy asks me if I wanna hit the vape but I kindly decline because it is highly EV-. So I buy in with 360 build it up to 500. Then proceed to get raped when I open KQ and get three bet every time. Sigh. Cash out with 244.

Warning: This player is bad. Played a round of .10/.20 with the guys and I big stack bullied this fish all day. I don't consider myself a degen, not having played the game at hand in nearly a year, and I still out played the scrub. He claims to be the GOAT, but clearly fish status.

Hey man thanks for keeping up with this thread. I've been on a bit of a hiatus getting into the swing of school, but I will be logging sessions this weekend and also thinking of going pro over my winter break. Possibly going to Montreal or Florida. Thoughts?

Go for it while you're young and single. Just remember to work as much on your mindset as possible. To succeed in live poker you need to be a mental giant at all times to withstand the many pitfalls of casino life imo. Whats with all the trolls itt tho?

Alright sorry for the brief hiatus and thanks for keeping up with this thread.

So I ran into a little trouble because I decided I should start playing over nights on a wednesday and monday night. This was definitely a horrible HORRIBLE idea and I pretty much lost all my profits besides two loonies I found in my pocket. So I decided to take a week off and regroup. On these nights I feel like I played well and got my money in good besides 1010 Vs. JJ

Made it back up with friends last Friday and booked a small $41 win. I really didn't play that well but everyone is so bad that it is hard not to profit. Makes me think of how bad I am for not being up 2K already.

So here are my goals for the upcoming months.

1) Get to at least 1K by the end of the semester (December)
2) Play the tournament series at Turning Stone after thanksgiving.

-For the more experienced people reading this how hard would it be to get a stake in the smaller events of the series?

3) Play the Omaha Hi/Lo tournament in Salamanca October 22nd
4) Look into going to Montreal or Canada to play full time for my winter break.

Thanks again for following everyone

Really needed to run good but got AA vs. my KK vs. A9o AIPF when I topped off my stack an extra 100. Headed up tonight really hoping to get something going and excited to play the Omaha H/L tournament in Salamanca in a few weeks. Average age of people playing that tournament probably <50.

Lost like a varience of over 1k by the past three times I had KK All over 400 pots.

That sucks man, keep grinding, I like reading your posts.

I wondered what your play is with pocket pairs in the 1/2 game, do you set mine a lot? I usually do if it's less than $12 pre flop in late position, it's probably cost me money over the long run but the implied odds against some of the old stubborn people is good.

Also, do you watch Live at the Bike? I think it could be really valuable to your game, it's helped mine.

Played 3 sessions since I have last updated the first one I was down -196 pretty rough night although I had a fun table and got to witness the mental slowroll. Basically, this guy was talking **** all night and made someone shove 200 preflop with AQ to his AA by talking **** before the hand. It was a pretty bad slowroll cause he made the guy say please call and didnt show til the river.

Next session I went to Salamanca. Hands down worst player pol of any where. Busted the tournament almost instantly. Sat down at cash and destroyed table. Was sitting with 705 but got into some ******ed three bet pots with my hyper agro friend (**** u marvin). Cashed out up 200 and won a little bit in home game after.

Yesterday went to Niagara around 1AM. Table was horrible. Was up 321 in 1.5 hours. Got on the list for 2-5 but wasnt feeling it so just took off when our table broke.

Thanks for following thread everyone. Gotta crank out the volume, but I think this goal is attainable.

Howdy. Curious, E.E., to hear about your play style, your habits at the table, etc. In a situation where you're sitting with 705 and getting into 3b pots with a friend of yours -- sounds like fun, but possibly not like the best way to profit. When you describe tables full of players who aren't any good, I don't think you're describing the players you arrived with, right?

Don't forget where the money comes from!
