I do somewhat disagree w/ you here about multi-tasking for certain activities, poker being one of them. There's some multi-tasking that is not a good combination in my experience (for example: poker plus surfing internet, surfing internet or phone while watching movie or TV, listening to podcast or audiobook while surfing internet or doing any other type of reading or writing, messing around on phone while in a real world social situation).
But other multi-tasking combination turn 2 activities that I either wouldn't enjoy that much on their own or wouldn't have time for to 1 activity that I like and is efficient and productive. For example, listening to music or watching a TV or movie while playing poker. Listening to music or a podcast or audiobook while at gym, walking, biking, or any type of exercise, while doing laundry, cleaning, cooking, shooping at grocery store, or any other similar chores.
For poker, I find the type of music you choose to listen to and movie/tv you choose to watch does make huge difference, and important to choose something that will keep you in right mind-state.
