lol mine was a bit of a pain in the ass too. It'll be worth having though. So much easier to motivate to get some cardio in when it's right there and you don't have to drive to the gym.

Yeah, it records:

time
distance
speed
calories burned
heartrate

I plan on using it when i get up tomorrow, and writing these things down when I'm done.

The exercise bike should be really useful, even just a quick 30minutes in the morning produces a reasonable sweat and is pretty easy to maintain.

yeah, hopefully I can get to a point where i can do it at a moderate pace for 45-60mins. Not sure how long I could do it now, but there are different tension settings I can put it on so that should help

Not sure on where you’ve got it set up but if you can position a tablet/phone so you can watch or listen to something while you ride you’ll find it much easier. One of the main downsides of exercise bikes is boredom as you’re obviously doing the same thing in the same place repetitively.

Just do some HIT on it. Takes much less time and it's great for you in many ways.

No thanks. At least not right now. I'm 305 lbs. I just want consistent moderate exercise at the moment.

Seriously, it's very good for you. I bought a spin bike at the start of the year and only do between 10 and 15 minutes a day. Only about 3 minutes of that is with me going at it 100%. It's a great workout.

Man, going 100% for 3 minutes straight would make you puke, or I suppose you mean intervals?

Have you ever seen Olympic athletes do the bike test? They go as hard as they can for like 30 seconds or a minute and they all end up losing their lunch. Check it out, it's crazy stuff.

Edit: Get after it, Mason, you can do it.

Huh? I want to burn fat at moment. I'm working on reducing calorie intake (cut my drinking by like 90%, reduce calorie intake etc). I'm hoping to lose 1-2 lbs/week til the end of the year, so ~6months x 4 weeks = 24 weeks = 24-48 lbs.

Also doing HIT training for me would likely end up in injury. I can barely do anything at the moment. It's best for me to do literally stretches as exercises and moderate exercising where I won't get hurt - i.e. exercise bike.

Didn't realise. Best going for the moderate route initially then.

Posted my reply before I'd seen your post about your current fitness situation.

gl dropping stuff Broker. I've mentioned somewhere on 2p2 (in long form) that the year following BF I dropped ~170 pounds. Put on all the weight playing for a living from 05-BF. So easy to just play/study poker and neglect fitness/health, for me at least.

Just wanted to say you can do it Mason, and encourage you to do so for both yourself & your fiancee. It'll be so worth it! For physical and mental benefits.

gl with your goals. man!
lifting weights can help too, there are some training with high repetitions that help in burning calories, specially leg exercises. It's also not that hard on the body, theres a lot of 60-70-year olds in the gym I go and they can handle the training without injuries.

also lifting weights is way more fun than cardio imo

Intermittent fasting is GTO. Dont push self too hard, keep it maintainable. Make schedule, reward yourself with cheat meal on weekend if you crushed week, none if didnt. Keep it mostly to nothing packaged. Veggies and protein. Only drink water, no diet soda either. GL <3

This guy lost 100 pounds (385 > 285) in 5 months after previously dropping 70# on Keto. I have been carnivore for 6 months and have no plans to ever eat another vegetable again. I am not doing it for weight loss as I already lost the weight I needed to on low calorie (torture) then low carb / keto. No more allergy meds, my stenosing tenosyvitis symptoms are mostly gone, less adhd/anxiety symptoms.

Broken if you want to lose weight without starving yourself research the zero-carb/carnivore diet. Adaptation can be a ***** for some but that only lasts a few weeks and can be lessened if you make sure you get enough electrolytes (sodium, magnesium, potassium). If you want some links for more reading/research PM me.

Was 14 months or so. Did a lot of hiking in the desert (I live in Tucson, AZ). Then joined a gym when it got too hot to do stuff outside. Obviously ate right as well.
