I didn't want you to grind the extra hours for nothing or make you feel like that I was freerolling you. So i snap sent and didn't think much of it.
I got the $$ back but feel a little bad about it
Def don't feel bad, I am mainly happy I got 10k vpps as that is just something that will very very very rarely happen this yr and that was the main motivation of me offering the bet. Should have been more clear, my apologies!

I think it helps a lot more than most people think. As I talked about in the recent TPE podcast I was on, I think most 25bb hyper players, as long as they have some understanding of MTTs aren't punty, will transition to most other forms of poker quite well. Mainly comes from edges being so small and you just having to be super precise nearly every single hand, both preflop and postflop spots, just to stand a chance to do better than break even in the $100+ hypers.
I think a big problem a lot of SNG guys have who don't play many mtts or don't have an MTT background is they tend to punt a lot, not realizing how many MTTers are playing their ranges in different spots in different tournaments/tournament formats at different points of the tournament. It's hard to explain, but I feel from living with so many great mid-hsmtters over the past yrs, I really understand how most of the non great mtters play in a lot of spots.
Yea, could ramble on and on, but it really depends on the player (the sng player trying to play mtts that is), think some will insta do really well and others would have a huge struggle initially, but nearly all the HS hyper guys have the potential to be absolutely crushing HSMTTs.

Its just the natural way of things. Over time a lot of guys just drop out. It was the same way 5 years ago. Either variance caught up with them or they found something they would rather spend their time on. There are ~0 players in Cabo right now when that used to be loaded with sickos.
Add to that, of course, that there are much better places in the world to live than Rosarito or Cabo and people have moved on.
Yea pretty much agree exactly with doggz and clayton. There were a lot of 'witherists' as I liked to call them at the peak of Rosa traffic, and then a lot of the heros moved on to better places. So between those 2 groups being mostly MIA now, doesn't leave a lot of players left really. Def a lot of SoCal/related guys in the area and makes complete sense with how close we are to the US.
And yea, hit that study grind! Honestly I have as much fun studying spots as I do grinding a lot of the time, when you get sort of good at using a lot of the postflop tools and understand opponents ranges etc, it can be quite fun to break down hands and figure out how to exploit your opponents or find the gto of a spot, whatever it might be.

Hitting the MTT grind the rest of this week starting tomorrow, TCOOP has me all (inlove) with MTTs
. Taking today off other than currently playing this TCOOP 215 8m, ran errands with Ruse yday and grocery shopped this morning, came back and played a bit of bball before the 215 and plan to go out and take some serves and shoot around for a bit more before watching Venus/Keyes and Serena/Cibulkova. Edit as typing this: Actually lending my car to my massage therapist as she needs to use it for a client who doesn't live on the bus route, and then gonna get a massage, so might not get in more outside time (rain).
Actually interestingly enough, Madison Keyes is from Rock Island, Illinois, which is about an hour away from me and is where I played quite a few tennis tournaments in high school. My coach from when I was young through my sophomore yr in HS actually has coached against her which is pretty cool. Gotta root for her over Venus ldo!
Also if anyone wants a sweat on the TCOOP Hrer, thread is here

Glgla on the tables, hopefully have some sweats the rest of this week!
