Listen to the feedback that people are giving to you Just play online for a while. Don't go pro just yet because it's not sustainable with the BR you have. Trust me, i know where you are coming from, and i'm also in a moment in life where i just don't know what to do. But education is REALLY important.

You could try to enroll in some courses and make some new friends along the way. Then play some poker on the side. It keeps you from feeling the pressure that you HAVE to play to earn money. Get a job. And not only to earn some side income, but to get to know some more people. I just can't tell you how important it is to just be with other people and educate yourself. Patience is a virtue my friend .... I'm just 22, but i've been through some stuff. If you want to chat on skype some time, just PM me

Oh, and i just would like to add that it's never to late to try and change who you are. I understand you have to deal with certain issues, but you are never to old to learn

Poker will not help with any of the mental problems you just listed

Look at all the posts dude, this isn't 'taking a shot', this is a lamb to the slaughter. In this day and age being a pro poker player takes studying for hours a day, playing thousands of hands a day, mental balance, self-control, game selection using social skills and doing this for many years. Even if you manage this, poker is a dying game, online wizards will flood live games once it dries up, holdem might not even run in 5 years time. And if you make it this far, you're still going to need to run good to keep a sustainable living. If you manage to jump all these hurdles and beat the odds, you'll probably average around $20k/year.

If this is your dream, go for it, but don't put all your eggs in this very weak basket. Get another skill you can rely on, your very privileged to have no bills at the moment, dont waste that.

The thing is it's really hard to get back into education if you have been out of school for a while. Just getting back into school schedule is very difficult if you have been doing nothing the past couple of years. I've had thoughts about going back, but I don't think my motivation is there. I'm thinking it's too late, but friends and family have said it isn't, and I somewhat agree. I'm nearing 30 also and I'm scared for my future. I have a 6 year gap in my resume. I think I have anxiety, but not hardcore like other people might have it. This pretty much is holding me back from getting a job. Like what do I say if the interviewer asks what I've been doing the past 6-7 years? Do I just tell them the truth?

Just thought I'd throw out that crushlivepoker has a few active coupon codes for a free month, should you want to check out the material without paying for future months if it's not something you find worth the price. The one I used recently was DCA10 (David Chan's code).

Amature players overrate their abilities at many tasks, whereas experts often underrate their abilities with respect to the skill level of the group.

Poker is a game where the thinking guys win. If you tell yourself that you cannot study then you will at best enjoy mediocre success.
