I think Nate and the analytics were just wrong on the election - they must be approaching it wrong. I’m sure in 4 years they will implement some new way of collecting data to predict the numbers.

Congrats on quarantine being lifted there and the good vibes with the fam.

Well how things have taken a turn in these parts with the golden summer sun finally sparkling with luv and folks all stepping outside after 230 days of lockdown Of course, many/most were already taking the liberty of breaking the strict measures of La Cuarentena - as this is Argentina, you know -, but man have things loosened up to the extent where certain peeps are no longer walking around with a mask, bothering with the 2m of personal bubble distance and are populating public spaces like no tomorrow

Philosophically speaking though, it is pretty interesting to look back in hindsight to how are attitudes towards this whole pandemic has changed, right... Personally, I spent a lot of time initially scrutinizing (and criticizing) the alt-right-wing-conspiracy-theorists agenda while finding myself somewhere in the middle-path approach of respecting certain norms (masks, social distancing etc.), while also feeling critical towards the extremists on the left side of the spectrum (strict lockdown measures, public shaming). Interestingly though, it is has been quite intriguing - and head-scratching initially - to notice that while most poker pros have been very rational (and cautious) and have seemingly tagged along with what most specialists have suggested (much like myself), many of my Vipassana meditator friends have seemingly departed from the mainstream path and dipped into the rabbit hole of certain conspiracy theories/anti NWO stances I mean, it should perhaps not come as a surprise, as (hardcore) meditation to this day is namely embraced by a ton of hippies/alternative folks, but forever adopting anti-conformist POV's gets tiresome, does it not... Nevertheless, I have myself tamed my intolerance towards fringe philosophies as we are all f**king tired and trying our best, right

L and I are doing amazing. In fact, since the last time (a few weeks back) where I came ITT to open up about our tribulations, things have been simply awesome There are nonetheless (of course) stuff to smoothen out over time (this lockdown has been tough on her son), but I am Sooo fracking happy that we have worked our things out yo

Poker has been a BLAST over the past few days Not only am I running (slightly) better over the WE, but this fun as hell player has been popping up for a few hours late in the evening. The fellow is quite interesting in the sense that when he initially sits down, he tries to run up his 100bbs stack, be it PLO or NLHE (as he sits across approximately 6 tables in both formats at 400). And his aggression always puts me in tough spots, as he is ready to X/R and barrel it off with ATC on random boards It definitely calls for unforeseen and interesting situation, especially that villain is not terrible, unless he goes on Monkey Tilt (which he does after losing a few all-ins). Anyhow, it definitely has spiced up my 1-3am session and made poker a hell of a fun ride again
Spoiler:
he disappeared after a couple of weeks a few months back, so let's see how long this lasts

Anyhow, for the next few weeks working on my book will become a thing again, aiming for a handful of pages every week. I will probably maintain a decent 20h+ a week of grinding though, depending on our aforementioned villain and the state of the games (the Holidays are usually gold for the grind). As opposed to last time that I embarked on this writing-driven stretch, I feel quite at ease this time around, happy with my upcoming laidback schedule and having now established the framework of my book

It is so confusing, as while he was completely off by 8% or so in certain states, he got some of them right. I don't know, while I feel better about the whole ordeal that was these elections right now (but am still waiting on Pokershares to pay me... ), I felt the analytical world (that I wholeheartedly embrace) come crashing down during a hour or so on election night

Coming Back

Just got back from a WE getaway in San Isidro/Tigre ; curiously, now that the B.A. daily covid cases have dropped down under the 200 threshold, we obviously had to rush towards the most infected part of Argentina, you know All kidding aside, it was nice to get out of the city (while maintaining our COVID precautions), bike some 80kms, eat out twice daily/indulge in numerous cafe stops, soak-in a TON of vitamin D etcetera and etc.

I also booked a decent week at da pokerz, thus putting us on a 10k or so upswing - the negative variance of today not withstanding With the decent upcoming promotions and juicy games of the Holidays, December should see us be decently busy yo I also spoke of this in my previous post, but now that the outline of my book has been clearly established, it is coming fairly well, albeit still at a turtle pace

I managed to get a few NBA bets in with a decent, namely 500$ on LA Clips @ 7.5x (for the championship) and idem for Milwaukee @ 6.5x ; I know that I preemptively bought into the Bucks when they allegedly had agreed to a deal with Bagondavich and that the Lakers are CLEAR favourites after the additions of Gasol, Schroeder and Harrell and Wes Mathews, but darn, I just see the field - AKA the Clips or Bucks -, as well as aging/chemistry issues, interfering, you know. Unibet has been capping my bet sizes to ludicrous amounts, except with stuff like O/U, where the juice is closer to 15%, you know Anyhow, we are hoping to maintaining last year's trend of being 4/4 @ 200$ a clip
Spoiler:
I bet 1.2k on 5 overs and 1 under this time around.

This thread is not getting a ton of views lately. In fact, it went from attracting 300-400 (per post over a 24h period) to a lacklustre 60 overnight I mean, I don't necessarily trust the accuracy of the 2 + 2 stats and I believe it says more about this dying forum then any drop off in the interest instilled by this blog and I have been dedicating less effort/attention myself, but still...

It is ossum imo to see California (+Lebron) dominating the NBA for most of these past twenty years.. first the Lakers, then eventually the Warriors, and now the Lakers/Clippers

People seem to be looking for entertainment and a distraction instead of quality material in the current climate I think..

Take it as a compliment! You don’t have many flaws for people to critique you on.

I noticed this on 2+2 in general over the past few months: a huge decline on participation across all the subforums.

Is a shame because forums are one of my favourite ways to communicate online, and has been like that since I first got into the internet with 11-12y/o back in 02'-03'. But I think we got to accept that people are moving to other platforms and video content is beating the writing/reading options. IE a written trip report is harder to digest for most than a Travel Vlog. Still forums will survive as there's people that like reading and writing but can totally understand why video and audio attract more people nowadays.

Nevertheless, I'm proud to say #Imoneofthe60readers

Lost in Time

My dog is always waiting. Like all the f**king time For my gf to wake up first thing in the morning at 7:30. To go to the park. Like fracking staring us down with (impatient af) darts in her eyes, only to jump around when we finally mention the word "parque", to snap on her leash, only to now find her waiting in front of the door, looking up at the doorknob like the restless little ball of energy that she is Then comes the delay at the elevator door, that has alas been brutally exposed to her impatient scratching - no joke ; once in the garage, she fracking sprints like no tomorrow, tugging me along in the process as my bike can barely keep up And then finally we find ourselves outside in broad daylight, unleash her and in a single boost of liberation, she scrambles across the streets, pacing the 1km separating her from the park like no tomorrow

A few minutes before 20:30, she lies in front of the front door, impatiently waiting for my gf to get back from her work. At 21:00, she sits by our kitchen table, nose up to inhale whatever food scent she can and staring us down with those puppy eyes of hers just so she can seduce us into giving her a bite. Or two. At 22:00, she hops in the bed with us, demanding some cuddles before calling it a night. At 3:00 in the morning, she demands the door, simply to indulge in the varying urges of food, water and a piss on the balcony. When morning comes around, the whole God damn process of forever waiting renews itself only to find her reach a few sparse and (very) momentarily moments of plenitude

We spend our lives chasing our tails. Every time we are in line for a store, in public transportation or in any transit to reach whatever destination. In fact, if we were to compile all those accumulated (impatient) moments where we anticipate a certain (ephemeral) outcome, we might be frightened by what TITANIC % of our fracking lives is wasted It wasn't until I started to seriously practice meditation years ago that I started to realize how those instants (previously) wasted being triggered by longing, could be productively used observing respiration. Or bodily sensations. In that precise moment, I gained a huge chunk of my life back

Yeah, all good points. I am just really surprised that this drop of 200-400 views (per post) to 60, happened overnight Again, this statistical anomaly does not make any sense and (probably) says more about 2 + 2's stats tracking. And thx

Man, I am really the wrong guy to ask, as my perspective has been limited to the reaction of my household, my tennis coach, the local news and then some friends back in Canada asking for similar feedback In this pandemic where we spend a lot of time isolating, unless you are in the midst of said activity, your outlook will be filtered through the lenses of the news/social medias

Thx friend. Even if I have reduced significantly my posting frequency, it is more a product of working on my novel and being increasingly occupied with my household, then any decision to abandon 2 + 2. In fact, I am more concerned for selfish reasons in the sense that I do not want any of my blogs or my upcoming book to be left (somewhat) unread, similar to a message in a bottle at sea. I definitely want to sell a decent amount of (upcoming) ebooks, as I feel that the story of Dawson City should be shared (and read)

I updated my travel blog with the recent TR of my Tigre/San Isidro adventure, and lo and behold, a thread that usually gets 500-2k views per post, has gotten a lol 75 in 4 freaking days Yup, 2 +2 gone dead

New (Metaphysical) Day

I have taken an emotional step back. Quite a big one, tbh. If you folks remember at the start of this good ole Lockdown, I held quite the negative perspective on conspiracy theories, particularly in regards to the whole NWO (New World Order) ordeal. I don't know... Perhaps it was the fact of being locked in and hence stripped of social outlets that led me to pick virtual fights with the alt-right... Whatever the case, now that several vaccins have finally arrived and that the end to this social isolation is in sight, I once again feel that we are all in this together. All of us. No matter our political affiliations, philosophies, world POV's and whatnot. And I mean, in a world (and particularly in the USA #1) where we saw governments spy on its citizens, lie about Iraq possessing weapons of Mass destruction and lack thoroughly in transparency/ethics, doubting our leaders happens to be +EV and a social responsibility, not something to frown upon. And yet... And yet buying into an anti-NWO narrative where all mainstream media, higher education and the opionion of specialists, are considered fake news, sheeple or elitist while they themselves are buying into unverified alternative news sources, self-help or self-taught shyt seemingly transcends all, I mean, wtf Why such a juvenile binary stance!?! Of us vs them without any nuances. We are living in very difficult and divisive times and to be frank, I don't want to find myself on either side of the spectrum. Sure I identify with the Bernie Sanders of the world, because it is more simple to point towards democratic-social stances and say "this is me" as opposed to getting into nuanced debates, when in fact, liberal, libertarian, socialist, conservative or whatever-the-effism will also appear appealing in regards to certain stances. Anyhow, in the face of numerous FB friends who have embraced some POV's I disagree with - particularly being anti-vaccers -, but who remain people I believe in, I am back to the whole "we are in this bottom-world together" stance. End of rant and much to all

I have yet again hit a writer's block Or a God damn f**king wall It is your standard questioning of "is it worth it to invest so much time on a project that will most likely be left unread", to "times are changing, peeps are diverging to non-traditional mediums, straying away from books/ebooks in the process" And also, as soon as I start digging deeper into writing a book, I find myself wanting to embrace new stories to tell, new fish to fry... Hummm I guess wisdom wants us to push forward and just come to terms with this first book however imperfect it will be, as opposed to punctuating our (literary) path with fracking idealistic and unreachable goals

The casino is open again. This came as a surprise, as I thought that embracing the normalcy of yesteryear, would come as a slower process. But nope, they had over 100 players for a 2 day live MTT event The games are amazing online (and should be for the next 2 months), so I will still wait a few months before getting back in the live arena to when a higher BI's warrant it/vaccins are handily available yo

I have been sleeping 8h a night for the past month, which is a full hour over my usual average Not sure if it signifies that I am getting older/my body now demands it, but it is not as if I feel more rested, fresh or differently upon wakening ; all it means, is that I am losing an extra 4% of my life, ffs

My Spanish is obviously coming along, right, as it is the only god damn language that I speak outside of French (with my family) once a week But still... Still I am advancing at a turtle pace And I mean, it might sound like fake modesty coming from someone trilingual who studied French literature in Uni, but believe me folks, as much as I need/crave to be intellectually stimulated, languages are just f**king mind-bending for me

My father has covid. We are still waiting on the results for my Mom. My dad has been without appetite and sleeping A TON of hours I mean, when this whole pandemic ordeal started, my thoughts were always towards my parents, as their health is not the best and my dad is already taking a lot of medication/insulin I don't know, the news shook me up, as I had just woken up from a gloomy dream where I caught COVID before receiving the message from my Mom and... well, I intuitively felt that perhaps this is their time Who knows... We have covered quite some scientific distance since the start of the pandemic, particularly in terms of understanding the disease and this second wave has also been less lethal then the first one, so...

I've lost track of how many times I've asked myself these questions. Hopefully you know that you have a community behind you (however small) that's eager to read whatever you end up writing. But beyond that, in the end, imo, the "worth" of your writing project—or any kind of art—is entirely self-determined. I stumbled across this quote from a recent podcast that some people might think is depressing/grim, but that I find comforting

I agree with the sleep assessment. 1hr a day adds up. Try taking naps during the day. 1hr nap will prob net you something better than adding to your reg sleep.

So Unibet Open Bucharest, Romania back at the end of 2017 was my first official score in the Hendon Mob (which is quite ironic, as I had close to 1/2 million in non-HM-official Yukon and online scores) after multiple failed attempts (something like 0/12) in 1k+ BIs ). Only to see myself ride succedent 3/3 profitable UO events (which is usually just a 4-5 day affair with a HR and a few midstakes BIs), but had been 0/2 since this pandemic had forced the powers that be to make these usual European stops, an online 2 day MTT. Anyhow, I am going back to day 2 tomorrow, 16th/22 with 3.7k guranteed thus far (80kCAD$ up top) ; let's do this

So my dad has seemingly beat the worse of the virus ; I was quite concerned this week and emotionally shook up, given I am physically countries aways and helpless af, and even moreso when factoring in my particular (and not always peaceful) relationship with my father over the past couple of decades. But anyhow, he looked good today Tired, but definitely on his way back after a scare that lasted a few days My sister and niece (who also tested positive), have mild but not overly concerning symptoms

187 on da Mama F**king Cop

Well that was an interesting 24h, all of which happened off the felt First you have a debit card that I almost never use get somehow hacked, which would be a nuisance in normal times and most likely my biggest issue in your standard day, you know, but not this time around Nope, nope. Because you had that old senile man that, in typical Argentina fashion, did not mind his own fracking business and criticized my decision to be cycling with my dog running by side I mean, this is by far the highlight of my dog's day She dashes like a mama-fracker in the Buenos Aires streets, half the time loose (in the quieter streets) and if not on a (3m) leash And. She. F**king. Loves. It To the extent where she begs to head out a few times a day, is hard to keep up with in the (colder) evenings, and I even caught myself speculating "perhaps we should find some sort of dog races for her!?!" as she at times does 6km+ a day (when the heat/humidity are moderate) like a mama-fracking bullet But anyhow, as I saw the old man criticizing (for the second time) my/our decision to let our dog roam (apparently for cardio/heart issues ) and calmly tried to rationalize with him, he would not listen. I mean... odds are that he is unfit in the head and most likely mentally challenged, but I nevertheless had to warn him to mind his own business, especially later when he again publicly tried to shame me when we were within a crowd... Ohhhh Argentins can be a very special type at times

And yet, this pales in comparison to our mama-fracking group of neighbours who, in a building of 200 apartment units, gather up several times weekly in alternating flats in the vecinity to party like no tomorrow. Fine. Sure. But when THEY BLAST THE MUSIC LIKE A F**KING DISCOTHEQUE, then that crosses all boundaries. Thus far, the 2-3 times a week this happens, we have resorted to getting the security guards to help us, writing to the building administration, criticizing them publicly on a FB page and knocking on their door. Thus far they have somewhat cooperated. But not yesterday. So we headed out on their door my gf, the puppy and myself and I must admit that I str8 up had no patience and rage-spewed "LOWER THE GOD DAMN MUSIC" - "Bajo la puta de musica" - with a few additional threats, when the fellow was being defiant, in the tune of "you will see what will come out of this if you don't".

4:00. We phoned the cops. The music stopped. Only to blast off again 30 minutes later Our dog was clearly disturbed, sparsely barking (something she almost never does). And we were fracking losing our cool. Soo we go back, POUNCE on the mama-fracking door, only to have the fellow get into my face, tell me to get the eff out, and engage - all fists out while establishing clear fighting intentions - towards me (with his buddy behind, equally ready to fight), to which I had to reluctantly retreat There was that spark in his eyes... A spark I had initially picked up on, one that shines in dudes that are quite familiar with brawling, or the street life in general... I knew that he was either a gangsta or... a mother-f**king cop Which turned out to be the latter Perhaps more desirable then the former, but I still felt fracking powerless in being able to impose any kind of will/power moving foward We did, of course, smash shut his fracking door and pounce nonstop on it before heading back
Spoiler:
at 6am, he took out his cop uniform and displayed it outside of his door
Spoiler:
we declare defeat : we are looking to move within a couple of months, probably will rent a house as to avoid this disaster

Wow what a frustrating situation. I feel your pain. I’d just leave the building when it’s time to go. I wouldn’t try to engage in a battle with someone in a foreign country, much less someone who has the advantage of being in law enforcement. And I do think it’s better he’s a cop than a gangster. People get shot for nothing nowadays.

Your anger is definitely justifiable though.

Edit ***love the fitting title, just blast DEEP
COVER and NWA F THE POLICE next time in retaliation***

On the Other Side of the Spectrum

Been binging some Joe Rogan podcasts lately, most of them (about 8h worth) featuring Jordan Peterson, who until this point, was an unknown voice to me (outside of visualizing him as a sort of men's right defender...). Interesting stuff, to say the least, moreso in the coming to the realization that even when you essentially disagree with the fundamentals of someone coming from a Judeo-Christian-Patriachal-Conservative POV (all of which I like to contest ), you still end up agreeing with approximately 30-35% of his arguments when you approach it with an open-mind Much like Ben Shapiro, I must admit, albeit I find that both essentially push forward a preconceived Christian-right-wing-agenda where the end goal (of having a conservative society) fuels any argumentation they advance - some of which is really comical and extremely binary, tbh

Nonetheless, I feel I gained MUCH MORE in terms of viewing the (philosophical) world through a distinct (right-wing) prism then I would of by listening to a Bernie Sanders type for instance, mostly because I was exposed too views that I usually do not engage (Quebec was fairly left-wing in my youth). Most notably : I find it interesting how Peterson speaks of the necessity of hierarchies and how the left-right dialogue keeps the pyramids/institutions/individuals in check This said, Jordan obviously places himself above and beyond the left-right political spectrum, failing to see that the way that he prioritizes the individual and constantly attacks the lefts and collectives, is obviously conservative af Nevertheless, I also find hierarchies to be necessary to the extent that it is human nature to embrace roles, take orders (or submit some) and to simply confirm to a certain organisation of things - because we are like fracking ants -, and that it befalls on each individual to do the inner work in order to transcend these, to question them, apply reforms or even leave them all behind together (like hermits, monks or hippies do). Again, I find myself a democratic-socialist, so while I have abandoned my youthful dreams of anarchy, I still remain a leftist-reformist (within the system)

Another point of interest highlighted by Rogan's-Peterson's discussion : how traditional news media, faced with the short-span attention of our modern times, is becoming click-bait to compete with the advent of social-medias. Especially online. Or perhaps it has always been and the rapidity of our virtual times is just accelerating the distribution of the breaking news content, leaving behind any possible attempts at exploring the depths of any given situation... Which got me thinking about how a social-media like facebook has become empty of dialogue, populated by a myriad of memes (and cliche POV's) replacing any semblance of profoundness, and how the algorithm is created these confined divisions devoid of constructive discussion Of course, this pandemic has made peeps more tensed and socia-medias a battleground, but nonetheless, as much as my cousin (who is an alt-right conspiracy theorist leader) has blocked me from attempting any form of discussion/debate on his FB page, my left-leaning friends (who embrace the same ideas that I do), have been equally refusing to engage in any substantial dialogue that goes beyond insulting/putting the other side in a box

I attempted a couple of times to deepen a feminist discussion with (closeish) female friends by replying to their (seemingly) thought-provoking posts ; but alas, they did not seem want to go beyond receiving likes/comments reinforcing their POV's, or COMPLETELY dismissing the other side when some poor fellow tried to interject. I witnessed the same during the BLM protests where you could only agree with the Black Lives Matter stance (which I 100% do) without being to refute, discuss or engage in any form of deviant opinion whatsoever I mean, I witnessed a fellow that while he sided with BLM, he also tried to defend the defunding the police movement and was (virtually) torn to pieces by all my leftist FB friends His mom tried to bring back a semblance of diplomacy, but the OP would not have any of it... sigh and a thousand times sigh Are we divisive to the extent where a dialogue is no longer possible, nuances thrown out the freaking window

Am still running fracking bad on the virtual tables Even with the soft Holiday games, all I can manage is a smallish profit. In fact, 2019-20 have been absolutely terribad in the form of variance and BY FAR the worst stretch (in terms of -EV) in my career. That said, I have still managed to get two decent years while grinding under 25h weekly, and get juicy pandemic games tossed my way, so can't complain too much, right

All has been REALLY silent that front since then... In fact, one could almost believe that our SMASHING like completely loco Mama-frackers and me getting in his face with threats, my gf screaming at him along with his fine and public shaming him, might of been sufficient... Or perhaps he simply woke up and realized that "ohhh shyt, I went too far this time ". Nonetheless, it is still time for a change

2020 in a Nutshell

Curious times, isn't it... When this pandemic first hit internationally, my concern was directed at my folks, both of which are overweight and don't have exactly the best health ever, and yet, both came out of COVID unscathed And then a fellow that is part of our Yukon network, lost his fight to the Corona And one of my best friends of my ex gf (and a girl I also made out with a few times in my teens), past away this week, her suddenly ceasing to beat at the mere age of 40 As always : life is so fracking unpredictable.

Strong past couple of days to finish 2020 on a sweet 6k upswing We are heading 400km down the coast tomorrow evening (close to Mar del Plata), so I will not be grinding much for the next week, hence very nice to finish the year on such a positive note yo

Am looking to purchase a couch for our new house. I have settled on 2 different models : a cheaper quality couch, but HUMONGOUS af (think 2.50m x 3.20m x 1.80m) @ 600$, or an elite triple lazy boy/the most comfortable I have ever laid my arse on/perfect for an all week/all-year nextflix days @ 1600$
Spoiler:
God I am becoming a yuppie

That's it for now. Be well folks
