I have decided to make goals for each day and will write about it here in the blog.

Overall goals when playing

* Take 2 second for each pre-flop decision and 5 second for each post-flop decision
* Plan the hand for all the streets

Goals for away from table work, daily:

* Post 3 hands
* Comment and think deeply about 15 hands
* Watch and make note on 1 video (max 30 min)
* Review all hands where I lost 20 bb or more from last session
* Go through old notes in spreadsheet

This will be my daily rutine that I will try to stick to. I have never made checklist of things to do but I will do this a while and try to make a habit of it.

Song of the day, one of my absolute favorite songs:

Good session today I was a bit lucky a few times and that felt very good because I have had a bit of bad luck this month so far. Action was not very good but the session was good focus. I feel a lot better when I play when I switch my diet. I usually eat before I play and energy stays solid all through the session which is good!

Session started good but ended not so good. Got 1 outered one time and constantly loose flips. I probably raked away all my winning from like 4 guys because i can’t win those damn flips . Need to get better villain selection in the future and quit guys I have a hard time beating even if they play stupidly. Yesterday I took day off and just did nothing it was good because I feel that my motivation is getting stronger. I will not play so much the last few days of the week to focus on studying instead.

Haven’t slept in like 30 hours but I have done a lot today. Watched many coaching videos and also went through my notes. Played a lot of hand vs hand equities and I feel good improvements. Reason I didn’t sleep was because my daily rhythm was ****ed and I have to “reset” it. I played a very short session today that went ****ing awesome. I’m like a sloth because my mind is a bit tired. I reached my goals perfectly and also got easy opponents. I played some sicko that was over betting very much. He sucked out on me once but then this hand happened:

BB: €68.16
Hero (SB): €77.53

Hero posts SB €0.25, BB posts BB €0.50

Pre Flop: (pot: €0.75) Hero has 3 6

Hero raises to €1.00, BB raises to €1.50, Hero calls €0.50

Flop: (€3.00, 2 players) 4 6 2
BB bets €1.50, Hero calls €1.50

Turn: (€6.00, 2 players) 5
BB bets €4.20, Hero calls €4.20

River: (€14.40, 2 players) K
BB bets €60.96, Hero calls €60.96

I tanked down on that decision on the river and ended on going on my instincts. I don’t know what to say he also called me down w pocked deuces on a wet board only to hit on the river making my top two pair beaten. “Keep patience you will win” was all I could think .

I also decided to improve a little program I made in Java that help me calculate pot-odds. I’m not so good at calculating in my head and it makes me do bad decisions when I calculate wrong. With this program I will never make a mistake again! It doesn’t take much space so I always have it open on my screen. Here is a image of the program, I added the implied odds box to put in what implied odds I need to call:

I will try to learn from this session, playing slow will improve my win rate way more than putting in more hands. Quality > quantity!

Today I played a shortstacked fish and stacked him for 40 bb then he bought in for 100 bb again and was up to break-even but I managed to keep calm. He was donking a lot and limping a lot. I ended up getting 240 bb from him but the rake took a lot. Other than that I’m happy with the day!

I made video about the first two weeks of December and I also talk a bit about my goals:

I felt good today but made a few mistakes I'm still happy with reaching the goals I put up. I have found myself in moments where I usually would get tilted or at least a bit frustrated but today I did not react much too it. I feel more and more that if my decision is correct I don’t care so much about the result, it is better that way I think.

I have had a lot of interesting coaching today and I feel that I learnt a lot! I database analysis for about 2 hours where I checked hands where I call second barrels. I have a lot of improvements to do in my BB play but I learn so much from my coach. He explain things very simple and I get deeper understanding of the game than the standard lines I’m used to and it is very fun!

I did a short 3 hours session today because I spent most of my time on off-table work. It was a short and intensive session with 93 bb/100 . I was running good which was nice!

Very frustrating session today. Villains got better flushes, better full houses or hit 2P on river. Was very close to stop-loss but stopped before it. I will take day off tomorrow to party with some friends that come home for Christmas hopefully that will take my mind of poker for a bit and I can recharge my mind!

The party was very fun and it was nice to meet my old friends again. We have very fun together and all have the same kind of humor!

I played a session for 7 hours and it went very good. There wasn’t so much action in the beginning but I still made some nice profit. Looks like I will end the week in the green! I played slow and felt very solid.

Played a longer session today and everything went good. I ended the week with profit at least! I will try to not play sessions that is longer than 4 hours in the future. I have problem leaving when I’m playing a fish and then I get another one and I end up playing for far too long, my focus gets worse the longer I play.

My Christmas has been very relaxing. I spent much time with family and friends and not so much poker. I did a session today that went very good. It felt very nice to be back to playing poker!

I got a new chair for Christmas. It is very comfortable chair. I haven’t done any long sessions on it yet but I’m sure I wont have any pain in my back if I do!

Here is how it looks:

The ending of the year was good I have played very solid and I feel confident at the tables. December was not a good month if you count profits but I have learned a lot and the state my mind is right now is very good. I'm motivated to keep going and I look forward to 2015, I think it will be an awesome year!

Tomorrow I will take day of to celebrate the new year. It is one of the best times of the year. All the excitement when the fireworks go off and everyone is looking at the year to come with positive attitude.

I feel that I’m back into the poker routines again after the holidays. In the beginning of the year I had some bad habits where I didn’t do my off-table work properly. The last few days have been better, except for blog updates . I follow my goals to plan the hand and take time for every decision very good all the time now. The effects of this is huge and my win-rate have improved a lot.

This hand made my day:

Hero (BB): €61.00
SB: €88.44

SB posts SB €0.25, Hero posts BB €0.50

Pre Flop: (pot: €0.75) Hero has 9 9

SB raises to €1.00, Hero raises to €3.50, SB calls €2.50

Flop: (€7.00, 2 players) 9 3 9
Hero bets €4.00, SB raises to €18.54, Hero calls €14.54

Turn: (€44.08, 2 players) 8
Hero checks, SB bets €66.40 and is all-in, Hero calls €38.96 and is all-in

River: (€122.00, 2 players) 4

Hero shows 9 9 (Four of a Kind, Nines)
(Pre 66%, Flop 100%, Turn 100%)
SB shows A 3 (Two Pair, Nines and Threes)
(Pre 34%, Flop 0%, Turn 0%)
Hero wins €120.50

Villain told me in chat he couldn’t believe that he could be so unlucky! Do you agree?

I’m having some problems in coming up with good videos to produce for my youtube channel. Is there anyone here who can suggest something that you want me to make? All suggestions is welcome even if they are crazy or fun!

I couldn’t sleep this night so I decided to make some flop analysis. I used flopzilla to see how a certain calling range hit all kinds of boards. I did over 100 boards and found some interesting results. I think this will help me to understand board textures better. We also had group coaching where Gordon talked a lot about board textures. I still need to make analysis when villain calls with a different range and what happens on different turn cards.

My friend JumpingJack who is a professional slowplayer finally accepted my request to make a guest appearance on my YouTube channel. I think we can learn a lot from this guy!

Today’s session was very good. I was super focused and made very few mistakes. I was up around 500 euro at one point. I was contemplating to quit and do some off-table work because there was not so good action anymore. When I was about to close the tables a fish joined me on nl100 so I decided to play him. After 5 minutes I got another fish at nl100 so I played them. They had the run of their life. I was devastated when I ended the session “only” 200 euro plus. Then it hit me that I had one of the greatest sessions I ever played and the variance will always be there. I just have to accept or find another career.

I have gotten a lot better at dealing with tilt and irritation on the table. When I get tilted I start playing faster and I notice it because of my goal to take 5 second for each decision. When I notice it I either stop the session or get my head straight. I have also started to look at things in a bigger picture. I haven’t had a stop-loss in a very long time and I’m very happy with my results. I think most poker players, including me, want quick results and it’s a big mistake because it will only make you frustrated when you run bad in the short run. In the long run I know that I’m a winner and I prove it every day to myself.

I have also found some good meditation videos that I watch for 10 min before each session. My new chair is perfect for this because I can tilt it back so I’m lying down. After my meditation I watch a motivational video on YouTube. This routine makes me start the session with my A-game on and I only have to keep it for the whole session.

I’m very satisfied with my results this week. I feel that I’m on the right track and I just have to keep going. I haven’t had any day off since I started after the holidays so I decided to not play any poker today. There is not much action in the start of the week anyway and I need to avoid getting burned out.

Ever since I changed from Holdem Manager 2 to Pokertracker 4 I have missed the function to hide a stat until you have enough sample on it. Another student in the CFP found a solution for this but needed help to implement it. I think this is a very clever way to solve this and I made a YouTube video showing you how you can do it!

*Do you guys want me to make more Pokertracker 4 videos? I can make a video on how to make custom stats if there is interest for it.

And here is a graph from the past week.

I had day off yesterday and today I was very tired when I played and I have promised myself to not play if I don’t play my A-game. I popped some caffeine pills and took a break . Those pills is a real life saver I was feeling much better after 1 hour so I could start playing!

I got a nice villain on NL100 which was great. I usually don’t get so much action on NL100. I also played a funny guy on NL50. Both of those had a very special kind of brain and it took me a while to figure them out.

Here is some hands from the session:

Hero (SB): €290.89
BB: €100.17

Hero posts SB €0.50, BB posts BB €1.00

Pre Flop: (pot: €1.50) Hero has K J

Hero raises to €2.00, BB calls €1.00

Flop: (€4.00, 2 players) K J 8
BB checks, Hero bets €3.00, BB raises to €6.00, Hero calls €3.00

Turn: (€16.00, 2 players) 3
BB bets €15.00, Hero calls €15.00

River: (€46.00, 2 players) 5
BB bets €77.17 and is all-in, Hero calls €77.17

BB shows 5 Q (One Pair, Fives)
(Pre 37%, Flop 4%, Turn 0%)
Hero shows K J (Flush, King High)
(Pre 63%, Flop 96%, Turn 100%)
Hero wins €199.34

Hero (BB): €100.00
SB: €178.39

SB posts SB €0.50, Hero posts BB €1.00

Pre Flop: (pot: €1.50) Hero has K K

SB raises to €2.00, Hero raises to €7.00, SB calls €5.00

Flop: (€14.00, 2 players) K J 4
Hero bets €6.61, SB calls €6.61

Turn: (€27.22, 2 players) 3
Hero bets €15.00, SB calls €15.00

River: (€57.22, 2 players) 8
Hero bets €30.00, SB raises to €146.00, Hero calls €41.39 and is all-in

SB shows J 7 (One Pair, Jacks)
(Pre 17%, Flop 0.1%, Turn 0%)
Hero shows K K (Three of a Kind, Kings)
(Pre 83%, Flop 99.9%, Turn 100%)
Hero wins €199.00

Pure value raise on the river by him, right? Should have bet bigger on the flop.

Hero (SB): €90.71
BB: €54.02

Hero posts SB €0.25, BB posts BB €0.50

Pre Flop: (pot: €0.75) Hero has Q A

Hero raises to €1.00, BB raises to €1.50, Hero raises to €5.00, BB raises to €8.50, Hero raises to €90.71 and is all-in, BB calls €45.52 and is all-in

Flop: (€108.04, 2 players) Q Q 4

Turn: (€108.04, 2 players) 7

River: (€108.04, 2 players) 6

BB shows A A (Two Pair, Aces and Queens)
(Pre 93%, Flop 4%, Turn 2%)
Hero shows Q A (Three of a Kind, Queens)

Hero wins €107.04

So far this month has been excellent. Everything is going perfect. I always play my A-game and when I don’t I have the discipline to quit. Off-table is also going very good. All the hard work is paying off and I feel more motivated than ever. I have gotten a lot better at reading the board and understand board texture.

Here is the graph for this month so far:
