I am currently eating Cuban food and drinking Columbian beer while my car gets fixed. $300 setback. Haven't been able to play much as a result of the car, tomorrow I begin to put in volume. Plan is to play 10 hour days, leaving 3 hours before to hang out on the beach and work out, and 3 hours after to drink beer and meet the fine ladies of south florida.

I am splitting a room with Tmckendry until the 12th, guy is a cool dude and a sick plo grinder. After that I may check out the keys, and then I'm heading over to Tampa for a few days.

There are nice cars everywhere. Sick vacation homes on the beach. A port full of yachts. Its time to become wealthy, because **** mediocrity. Wealth is not my primary goal, but but its up there. I'll get there sooner rather than later. Time to focus

If I can't find a beautiful and intelligent girl (that's eight dgi) who wants to lay around on the beach all day in a nonexistent bikini, then yes.

Probably 12th-18th, not sure exactly though. Send me a pm if you'll be there

Florida is dangerous. Unlike Foxwoods there are actually a lot of fun things to do outside of poker. Nightlife is even good at the casino. Feels a hell of a lot more like vacation down here than my travels to Foxwoods, Maryland live, AC, PARX or Vegas.... DISCIPLINE necessary my friends.

Anyways, played an 8 hour break even session today. Played well and disciplined, ran like garbage. Couple whales in the game. One notable pot I was drawing to the nut flush in position vs a bad tag with a likely flush draw/straight draw combo, and a whale with 2pair+, all of us $1k deep. Sadly bricked, and my reads were confirmed at showdown. Shipped AA on T33 $500 deep against a whales AT and held. Drinking a Guinness at an Irish pub now, hopefully meeting girl, and grinding like a maniac tomorrow.

Riding through this world all alone
God takes your soul, you’re on your own

Just got back smoking hookah with tmckendry after finishing a 2/5 session. Have a few days left in Ft. Lauderdale, then I'll be heading over to Tampa for about a week. Been having a great time hanging out in south Florida and grinding. Can't beat the weather and general atmosphere down here. Heading to NYC on the 20th to party, then home for the holidays.

Big things coming my friends. Looking at splitting an apartment with tmckendry and a couple grinders near Maryland live for February - April. Really looking forward to a solid 3 month grind of 9-10 hour days. Building up the bankroll and working on my game.

Also looking at starting a side project of playing poker with bitcoins on seals with clubs. This will be something along the lines of a $500USD investment which I will attempt to grind up playing NL. I believe in the idea of the bitcoin and this could be a cool, low risk way of acquiring some.

Mind on the grind for the next couple days, beach in the morning, poker at night

Don't touch bitcoins your investment on Seals with Clubs is tied to the Bitcoin Stock Market that recently lost 25% of its value(last week). Also the US and other major economies in the world will look to either ban it or regulate it. This will further destroy the value.

Just move to AC and play on partypoker, wsop, 888, ultimate and soon to be pokerstars

Eventually they will be there just allowing the other sites to get a hold of the market before they allow pokerstars to launch...Here's an article wth a senator from New Jersey.

http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-news...nternet-gaming

PLus they bought a hotel and if everything goes thru they are pledging to completely re-do it including adding a $2.5 million poker room...that will be a huge attraction

It's really just a matter of time plus PartyPoker and WSOP are growing by the day they have had over 75,000 accounts sign up since the launch.

ONly thing is as of right now there will be 0 international gambling so all the sites will only be new jersey (population: 8.5 million) and states that sign up with new jersey and share player pools

Eh, I'll start another thread at some point about bitcoins and my upcoming bitcoin side project. I'm sure as hell not doing anything with them while hanging out in sunny florida. For now all i'll say is that I have a cursory understanding of them and am going to pursue online poker with bitcoins as a fun side project, not some type of life savings investment. Fear not good people.

Finally had a decent day yesterday, +$1160. Most interesting hand $650 effective:

MP limps, I raise JT to $20 from the CO, btn calls, Limper calls. MP is a fish who is going to c/f missed flops, c/c draws, and c/r 2p+. BTN is a nit who flats preflop with overpairs and slowplays, I have seen him play 2pair passively in limped pots.

Flop ($60) 789

check, I bet $50, btn calls, fold. At this point btns entire range is flopped sets, possibly 98s or 78s (4 combos) overpairs, and broadway spade draws.

Turn ($160) 7893

I lead $140, btn calls. His range doesent change much, however he may dump naked flush draws.

River ($440) 78938

The ugliest card in the deck. sets and 2pairs are boats, flush draws got there. I'm still ahead of his overpairs TT-AA. I decide to b/f $140 for value and am called.
Spoiler:
My hand is good vs QQ

What do you guys think of this hand? Particularly river decision and bet sizing

Heading off to Hardrock for today's session. Looking like I'll have a place to crash when I get to Tampa Thursday with Reel Ya In.

Button would slow play a set even on a 789ss board??

I think b/f small is fine if you think he'll still call with TT/JJ every time, won't 3bet JJ+ pre, and won't raise a monster on a wet board.

Against most players I think a c/f in that spot is correct because his range has a lot of spade draws and most people won't bluff their Tx. But even if they do, a nitty player doesn't have a lot of Tx in his preflop calling range.

I agree a competent player would never smooth call that flop and if he did he would raise the turn....unless he's got a sick read with a set or top two...what were the effective stacks of all three players?

Also I got a job in Northern Jersey doing finance so if you ever wanna come to my apartment and grind online lmk

Cool, agreed. Based on his past play he has TT-AA in his calling range. Don't think he ever raises monsters, lol. Cool thing is that he never bluffs the river, so the only danger to c/f line on the 8 is the small chance that he overvalues his overpairs and bets out (I was a little afraid that he would do this, but knew he would only call a small bet thus the ~1/3 pot bet-fold line)

Key word: competent. Live players have weird and sometimes extreme tendencies, this particular nit did not have raising in his arsenal of plays, lol. $650. Meet up in AC sometime in February-June man!

Tampa

What's up guys. I got into Tampa yesterday around 5:00pm, played a session, made $1.3k, ate some sushi with ReelYaIn, grabbed a beer and talked some poker. I'm staying at ReelYaIn's place in Tampa for the next couple days.

I had a lot of fun hanging out in Ft. Lauderdale the last 8 days, but didn't put much poker volume in. Spent a lot of time hanging out and talking about the future with tmckendry, made some very cool future plans, and just took it easy in general. Massively +EV trip for sure.

I'll be in Tampa until the morning of the 18th. Getting my grind on a little more and setting some goals for this stay, here's my list:

[] Play 42hrs+ Average 7 hours a day over 6 days.
[] Record 3 hands per session
[] Read 1 Book
[] Update this thread every day
[] 3 Running/sit up and push up sessions
[] Go the the beach
[] Explore downtown Tampa

The poker room at Tampa Hardrock absolutely destroys Hollywood. Looking forward to putting in a solid grind while I'm here

Agreed. There are actually grinders here, whales, super deep/ super shallow 2/5 tables with the 200-1k buy in. Last night I actually stayed at a table with a bunch of grinders (who I could actually beat pretty reasonably deep stacked). Just to own 2 deep whales at the table (which I did).

Waiting for a seat now. Have to wake up earlier and get here earlier to avoid this list & the traffic.
