Played 14 games today, finished ITM in 5 and made a tiny half buy-in profit.

Plenty of fish and bad regs at the table today which tends to increase the potential winnings but also the variance, and I seemed to take more than my fair share of bad beats today, but I'm not even mad..

A few fun hands:

Hand 1 big laydown preflop with JJ

Several reasons for laying this down:

1)My image was tight and I was opening UTG on a loose table. Villain was the only non-******ed player at the table and I knew he knew I'm not getting of line in this spot. So when villain (also a tightish player) 3bets me from the blinds his range his JJ+, AK. I'm a huge dog vs that range.

2)The other players at the table are huge fish, so I have a significant edge. It would be a huge mistake in terms of $EV to get eliminated in a marginal spot vs the other decent player at the table.

Tired today, got up late etc, so decided it wasn't a good idea to play much.

Instead, I played the weekly Chromestar VIP freeroll (lol WTF am I even doing) and mincashed for €0.50 lol

I then worked on my game a bit, studied a few bubble spots vs passive players etc etc.

I finished up playing a tiny 4-game session and the games were full of passive fish so put into practice what i had been working on earlier in the day. Results were pretty good, I got ITM in 3 of the 4 games and made a 5 buyin profit.

        Todays fun hands:

        Hand 1

I was amazed at what this guy called me with. All through the tournament, he had been really tight passive. When he bet out the flop and insta-called my shove, I was expecting to see a monster. I have a theory that tight passive fish just spaz out when it gets to heads up. It's like they've made the money and now they want to see what it's like to LAG it up or something lol

          Hand 2

I had a note on this guy that he was a loose fish, so I had to wait for some sort of a hand to shove into him. A9o is obviously more than enough in this spot with my stack size and the dead money from the limper.

His call is just WTF. I'd love sometimes to be able to ask fish what their thought process was when calling lol. I mean, his hand is fine if he was shoving tbh, but calling with it ?! The only thing I can think of is that someone told him that connectors are good hands and he's totally misapplied the concept of when they are good hands lol

            Quick update.

So I'm taking a shot at the €5 games again since my BR was at €530.

I played 13 games (a few €3's but mostly €5's), got ITM in 5 of them and a buyin and a half profit. So a winning session, but I'm finding it tough to really get going at the €5's tbh. I'm not sure why, maybe because there are more LAG tard regs who aren't always easy to play against.

            Fun hand:

Great to see you are still moving up. How many games have you played total? Graph over € 1s and € 3s?
Goldstar a goal for March if you have moved up to € 5s ? Not sure how many VPP you get, like 2,3 - 2,5 each game? Then it should be easy.

My graph for the €1's is in the OP, and my graph for the €3's is most of my January graph. I'm not a big volume player - I prefer quality over quantity so I don't have any particular VPP goals.

Not feeling particularly well today and had a few personal things that needed sorting out so I only played a tiny 4 game session. I crushed (3x 1st place) and a 6 buyin profit so that felt pretty good lol

Card distribution was definitely in my favour today, picking up premium hands at crucial times and holding for a change.

Still not feeling great so only played 7 games today. Still crushing though - I got 2x 1st place and 2x 2nd place for a profit of 4 buy-ins.

That completes a pretty decent score in the Battle of the Planets Neptune low orbit, so hopefully that will hold for a small bonus at the end of the week, so overall a productive day all things considered.

My heads up play was much better today - I got my money in ahead nearly every time.

              Fun hand:

Hi, I'd rather give BR updates at the end of the month

I play on PS.fr and there are no 7's The buyins of the 6-max turbos are:
                1, 3, 5, 10, 20, 30, 50, 100, 200, 300, 500

I'm currently at the 5's and will take a shot at the 10's when my BR reaches 1k

So played a longer session by my standards anyway lol and played 17 games, ITM in 6 of them and lost 2 buyins. At one point I was getting crushed by coolers and bad beats and then started tilting a bit and overplaying my hands in spots. I pulled it back at the end and finished 2nd in my last 2 games.

Here were some of the sick hands that started frustrating me:

Yeah SnGs really require a thicker skin than cash. So many 80/20s lost it hurts. Good thing you got it back together.
                      Just shove hand 1 pre.

ty, well I don't actually tilt in that I start spewing chips or anything, but I just feel that I'm getting frustrated / impatient or whatever. The best antidote for tilt is having confidence in my game I think. There's always going to be a lot of bad beats in a game that is push/fold at the end

Played a quick 7 game session today and got ITM in 4 of them and a 4 buyin profit.

To balance things up from my whining last time, here's a hand where lady luck was definitely on my side:

                      Hand 1

This was so sick. The villain was a total fish aggrotard. With the shortstack so close to going out, when I come over the top, he can only call with KK or AA for it to be +$EV. When he called, I was thinking "what a ******" and then I saw his hand lol.

                      LOL at the result

Meh I didn't have much sympathy tbh, a few hands early he 3bet allin with zero fold equity vs the other villain with J2o.....

So since the last post, I've played a few FPP hyper satellites to convert FPP - > $$$

                        I converted 370 FPP to T€8

I've played about 14 games and made 4 buy-ins and finished in the top 30 of the BOP low orbit leaderboard which was good for €8

I fancied a small break from STT's over the weekend and so toyed around with a few VIP mtt freerolls and won a few euros. I'd quite like to add a few mtt's into the mix every now and again, but I'm worried it might harm my SNG game and I do have a tendancy to get really frustrated at the fish in MTT's. Something to think about anyway.

Here's a wtf hand. When he showed his hand, I saw a small PP and thought he'd binked a set or straight, then I looked again lol wtf

Today, I is teh bubble boi

13 games played and ITM in 2 (lol) for a 6.5 buy-in loss.

I came 3rd in 7 of them, hence the title of bubble boi.

It was one of those sick sessions where nothing was going right. I was either running into in the top of villains' range, getting sucked out on, card dead, making mistakes or a combination of all those.

I'm gonna post a hand where I made a really bad shove on the bubble (regardless of results) just so that I remind myself how bad it was. My reasoning was that the big stack had been minraising his button, and so was preventing me from shoving wide into the midstack so I felt I had to make a move. But that is no excuse for making marginal shoves into 2 players, one of whom will have a wide calling range, well wide enough to make this a huge negative EV shove:

Much better session today in terms of performance, variance and results.

I'm mixing €3's with €5's at the moment (wherever the most fish are)

Played 7 today, got ITM in 4 and up a couple of buy-ins. There were a couple of really long and tense bubbles at the same time and I managed to get ITM in both, which was pleasing.

In another, as shortstack, I had to make a call with A7o vs a shove from big stack - not something I like doing, but I had to make a stand cos he was shoving every button and SB and BB could just fold into the money otherwise. Luckily it held up and a few hands later the new shortstack shoved 55 into my AA and I knocked him out.

I'm going to try to mix a few few mmt's into my sessions soon to try and maybe get a few biggish scores. SNG's will still be main game for grinding and building a roll, but I'll be using some of the profit to have a dabble in some mtts

So another day of mixing the €3's with the €5's

12 games played, ITM in 5 of them and up just over half the average buyin. It was quite a frustrating session at the beginning - I didn't get ITM in any of my first 6 games. I was getting sucked out on, coolers, crappy cards etc, but managed to cash in 5 of the last 6 and pull things together at the end for a profit.

I also played a couple of nanostakes mtt's just to get a feel for how they play. I didn't cash in either of them and was totally card dead. In the second one, I had 16 bb's and I had 99 in the BB, there were 4 limpers and so I just open shoved.

If any mtt'ers are reading this, I'd appreciate a line check on the hand. Should I just check the option here and see a flop ? My reasoning was with 99 and 16bb's and all the dead money, that's a standard shove, but would be interested in hearing some opinions

I had a read on MP2. In a previous hand, he had limped A8s UTG and flatted my iso raise from the CO (I had AJo) and he open shoved the flop for a psb when he obv binked A85 on the flop for 2 pair.....

^^ lol Don, yeah I don't know what I was thinking of - all the shops were shut too

A bit of a mixed session again today - Just 7 games played - started off crap not cashing in the first 5 and then getting first in the last 2 which made for a break-even day. The bubbles were really intense in some of them and I think I'll review them in more detail tomorrow because I think I could have called some of the all-ins a bit lighter than usual.

Likewise, I think I need to start restealing a bit more when I have aggro tards hammering my blinds.

This was probably the worst call I saw all day. In terms of ICM, villain's call is so negative $EV He is never ahead of my range here. This was my first button shove of the bubble - I had even been folding my SB to his BB a few times because I knew he was such a station.

In game, this call stuck out as so bad that I decided to analyse in WIZ, and that confirmed how bad it was:

I would have to be shoving > 48% of my range for this to be a correct call by villain. lol I am never shoving that wide in this spot (12bb into 2 villains one of which is a big stack calling station)

My actual shoving range is probably about 10% and if we put that into WIZ, his call is -6% $EV which is about as big as it gets lol.

Meh, I'm having trouble winning atm which is not good cos that's my custom undertitle lol

I'm not exactly losing either, just kind of breaking even and treading water. My biggest weakness I think is versus aggrotards who chip up early and then just start raising every hand. ICM states not to tangle with the big stack cos it doesn't really increase our $EV compared to attacking the other stacks, but if he's raising every hand and everyone is folding including hero and we're one of the shorter stacks, then we're just gonna fold ourselves out of the tourney. My weakness is knowing what spots to draw a line in the sand and come back over the top. The problem is that these kind of aggrotards are also the kind to call with crap like QTo and bink their 40/60 or whatever. The longer we leave it too, the bigger their stack gets and therefore the more likely they are to call.....

Anyway, today, I played 10 SNG's, got ITM in 4 of them and finished down a buy-in and a half. Could be worse I suppose.

I have also been studying a bit for MTT's and played a €2 freezeout. There were 1338 entrants, 198 got paid and I finished ITM in 134th position for $3.49 (about tree fiddy lol)

I'm pretty pleased with how I played, but it made me realise how much variance there is in these things. I mean, that win is a ROI of 75% and it took 3 hours to make it. In an SNG, if I mincash (come 2nd), that's an ROI of 90% and it only takes 30 minutes. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you have to really final table these bad boys to make it worth while and thats a lot of coinflips and suckouts to win IMO. Anyway, it's a challenge and is something I want to work at.

Here's the lol hand of the day from one of my SNG's:

Meh session in the SNG's - 12 games played, ITM in 5 of them, but down a BI. I actually played ok, but just couldn't really get anything going and lost all-ins at key points. I'm pretty much break-even over a 100 games and it's getting a bit frustrating, but whatever, I'll keep at it.

I reviewed some of yesterdays hands in WIZ and found a spot where I folded on the button and it was an unexploitable shove with my hand and the stack sizes, so I worked a bit on my shoving ranges from the button and will continue with that tomorrow.

I also played 3 nanostakes mtt's and didn't cash in any of them lol.

First one I was getting down and I flopped a flush draw with JTs and check-raised all-in and of course villain snapped with his crappy TPWK. The fact I hadn't played a hand for an hour didn't occur to him obv

Second one, I flatted with 77 during the early levels and checked behind a broadwayish flop, I turned a 7 for the set and got the money in and ran into a slowplayed flopped set, meh standard, never folding there.

Third one, I finished 91st out of 462 and only top 74 got paid (fml) I was at a table with a really loose bigstack two to my left, who was flatting every raise or limping - basically seeing any flop and never folding to cbets. So I had to really tighten up. I won a couple of pots vs him with Ace high and a pair of 99's vs his gut shot that didn't get there lol. But in the end, the blinds caught up with me and I busted out. It was really frustrating seeing all the ******s with huge stacks, hitting their gutshots or winning 50bb pots with bottom pair or whatever. lol donkaments I suppose.

There was an aggrotard guy to my immediate left who was opening nearly every pot despite the player to his left being the biggest calling station ever and still managing to fire 3 barrels and bink rivers or whatever. Really frustrating lol

10 games played, ITM in 4 of them and finished up a buyin. Nice to have a winning session for a change I suppose, so I'll take it.

I was getting a bit frustrated with ******ed nits on the bubble who hurt my equity. I was the middle stack and the big stack was a huge nit on my left who had only shown down one hand (AA ldo) In fact AA I think was the only hand he won for a big pot and now he was folding his way into the money instead of shoving into the shortsack to my right from the SB to the BB. He was giving him a walk every single round and letting him get back into the game, and of course whenever shorty shoved, the nit was instafolded when it was obv he was shoving any 2 and he was getting a great price.

Luckily I busted out the shorty by calling his all-in and winning and then HU with the nit, I just shoved ATC and watched him fold lol. Really annoying though playing when other players mistakes hurt your equity even when you're not in the hand.

(I'm still following, don't lose faith).

I play Hypers and damn it sometimes hurts so much to watch others play. I'm like wtf you are getting 2:1 and he's shoving ATC.... whatever I guess but it's so annoying when you're the one bubbling because when you shove he wakes up with A6o and decides this particular one is enough to call your shove with.

Can't wait for your graphs tomorrow/day after!
