Yo! Long story short, I'm just a 20 year old with the opportunity to set my future self for financial stability and independence. Playing 200NL zone on Ignition currently and hope you guys would join me for all the ups and downs of this year.

I say this year because the primary goal for me and this pg&c thread is to hopefully to make 100k by the end of the year. Initially it was to have a 100k+ net worth but with living in the states with taxes and all, seems kind of impossible lol.

Background
I was 18 and in high school, looking for a way to make money. At the time, I thought online poker was banned; So naturally, I gambled with cs:go skins instead. Found out a site where you can play poker with cs:go skins and didn't really run it up. Thinking back it was the softest thing in the world but at the time I was just a breakeven player. Shortly, I found a thread by iregption as he was offering free coaching for I don't even know what reason lol. We talked and he told me about the sites you can play on in the states like ACR and Bovada. Put my whole net worth on Bovada (my monthly allowance of $20) and proceeded to make him cringe with every single word that came out of my mouth. He taught me my first lesson and that was to stop opening every single Ax from every single position lol. Yeah it wasn't too helpful for either of us. I wonder if he still remembers me..

After inevitably busting my roll, despite using perfect bankroll management, I took the courage to put $50 more on the site. Don't know where that courage came from but boy was I excited when I binked one of the first 3 tourneys I played for somewhere over $300. Did the obligatory spew at the 50NL games and was devastated after losing 2 buy-ins.

Skip a couple months because I got admitted to college and what-not, and began to play on ACR after I cashed out my money from Bovada. Maybe I'll write the whole journey of moving up later but for now, went from 2NL to a breakeven 25NL player grinding rakeback and 'The Beast' and met a couple people that completely gave me a lightbulb moment on how the game should be played. After that and countless hours of work later, I found myself on Global Poker where I eventually moved up to 2kNL. That didn't last very long as the swings weren't healthy for me emotionally so I decided to stay in the 100NL-400NL area and grinded there for the last quarter of 2017 and early this year too. I only switched to Ignition 1 or 2 weeks ago, actually. Grinded, on average, 12ish tables of whatever looked good and lived a nice wholesome couple months there.

I could see questions like, why move to Ignition when global is doing so well for you? Dunno, got tired of it. Mainly because I think the games were just being extremely dumb. I like to mass multi-table but when tables start getting short, more hands are naturally played and I begin time out here and there. So generally, when tables start breaking, I'd have to go to the lobby to look for one and while I looked for tables to fill, I'd time out even more and before you know it all my tables kept breaking consistently and got tired of everything. Even though March was the most profitable month in terms of 2018, I just grew tired of it and thought my winrate would probably be helped by only focusing on 2-4 tables on Ignition anyways.

I guess it might have partly been an ego thing. I want to prove to myself that I'll be able to win consistently regardless of the pool (since global poker was the softest thing ever and still is) and Ignition zone was a way to do that, while keeping my volume up. Thought about playing ACR and how I would stack against some of the regs I thought were incredible sickos back in the day but that'll probably be for another day. It does seem fun to get back in the rakeback race for maybe a week or two so, that might be in the roadmap this year. Maybe it'll make a good stream if I'm successfully able to pull off getting a top prize in the race. Maybe not as I'll probably have to 16 table without any commentary.

Anyways..

Present

Right now I find myself with a more than adequate bankroll for 200NL. I'll be posting hands and graphs regularly but you can also tune into my stream to see how I'm doing! https://www.twitch.tv/updogpoker

Already had my first stream a couple days before spring break where I demonstrated how to be break-even for the day with a 1k stack on half your tables (for those of you that don't know ignition only allows 2 table max for zoom so I had a 1k stack on 1 table ha ha).

As for my results so far, winning around 4bb/100 over 15k-ish hands (if anybody cares).

Future

Currently starting slow with goals in the short-term but setting high expectations once the ball gets moving.

Goals for me currently are:

[ ] Prove profitability in the month of April in these games
[ ] Play 50k+ hands in April.
[ ] Stream very very often

Long term goals:

[ ] Be a 9evbb/100 winner at 200NLz at Ignition by the end of this year
[ ] Play 750k+ hands by the end of this year.

Thanks to anybody that follows and hopefully it'll be an entertaining ride for both me and you!

Thanks for the good luck guys!
Had my second stream and we were in the hole for about a grand but ended being up a little over a buy in. Always feels good to climb out of the hole.

Haven't added the most recent hands yet.

For those of you that tuned in, thanks a lot! I'll be streaming on a consistent basis just cause I want to record the session. I've already got people working on an overlay and hopefully I'll fix any problems/issues with the mic volume.

Have 1 or 2 interesting hands, will post when I get those downloaded the next day.

The first misclick that gets rewarded lol. Was side tracked and didn't see the 3-bet. When I clicked call to defend vs the open I was like WTF?? I didn't 3-bet and proceeded to just shut my mouth, get stacks in, and leave afterwards lol. What a sweat this hand was though.

One of the bluffs that I thought was alright, didn't think he'd be defending that wide, however.

Going to be streaming in an hour or two, hope you guys tune in! twitch.tv/updogpoker

Will also be using the card catcher now to show live results now that technology has finally caught up to being able to figure out ignition's buggy software. Also will be getting an overlay with a webcam to enhance viewer experience by the end of the week! An eyesore to look at, I know, I appreciate everything still tuning in.

Won't be streaming this weekend though as life plans. Good luck to everyone else at the tables!

Long day today, honestly one of the worst days that I have had in my poker career. Every run out was just horrible, we couldn't hold anything, and our value never got any value.

3rd day in a row where we get stuck for a grand right out of the gate. 1st day, I ended up a little over $200 and yesterday, I gave up and called it a sesh after I got a couple stacks - resulting in a loss of -$600 or so. Today, once again, stuck a grand. We were able to climb out due to some generous players donating for the pg&c but the gods of ignition didn't allow it and let it all die after this cooler.

I have previous hands under a different alias since I started using the hand catcher rather than the hand converter to start recording my hands.

Long day today, near 12 hour grind and streamed the whole thing. Had a peak of 35 or some viewers and super appreciated everyone that tuned in! Like I said on stream, I thought I'd just be talking to myself for the first month at least.

As for stream quality, I should be getting my layout either today or tomorrow. Will have a webcam up and a better viewer experience.

Also wanna give a shoutout to brokenstars, thanks for the host and sharing your reads!

Will be back one more day to stream, similar time, and unfortunately I'll be busy for the weekend so no pokerino until Monday/Tuesday.

Still running like crap but I can't complain being up after what happened the last couple sessions. These wins don't even seem like wins after getting beaten down so hard

Short post today as I have to get up early tomorrow.

I actively play and enjoy chess a lot (but suck at it) so I might have some side hobby goals that I'd maybe like to record on this thread.

I'll also be posting hands once I download them over the weekend. Got one or two interesting ones in mind.

Pretty good result overall but I'd probably rate my play around a C+, B-. Felt like I ran really well but I couldn't capitalize on any opportunities. You can see my passiveness from 800 hand mark to the 1200 hand mark, and again at the 2200-2700 mark where I just continuously folded thru medium/big size pots.

Not a surprise as I never feel great playing when coming back from a long weekend but nevertheless, happy that I played better towards the end and felt more confident after my plays.

Also had great success in my first day adding 2 regular tables, as I said I would do after I got my overlay and stream looking more professional (still want to do more work on improving quality like getting a 4-table stream overlay). Had near 1k stacks on both reg tables.
