Ok, finished playing for the month so will update with my final graph and stuff. The last 3/4 days wasn't great, I played a few hands but in general I played pretty well up until I got into a few spots and messed them up by spewing.

I'm delighted though with the overall month, I didn't play as much as I wanted too, and played about 10k worth of rush (last 10k of month) to get over the line, I think I'll mix it up again next month, but try and play more generic Poker, instead of rush.

I've kept this update pretty short and sweet, mainly because I don't wanna talk about Poker right now as I'm pretty tilted at how badly I played at the end of the month, hence why I'm ending it a day early, but I'll be back on it next month (although FIFA '11 is out on Friday, ooops).

Graph of Month

$: +1147.20
WR: 8.38bb/100
RB: $296.24
Total: $1443.44
Opinion: Very happy with the month, crushed from the start, spewed at the end.

Have yet to even play 1k hands this month, I've jus completely fallen out of love with Poker this month.

Yeaaaahhh, I quit Twitter after two days, what a pile of shít that is, at least I get to follow some celebrities though!

My volume this month seriously waned. Actually, screw that, it never took off in the first place to wane. Up until the 19th of this month, I'd put in about 2k hands, all of was which 6max and I was down about 2.5BI @ 50NL. I withdrew $300 from my roll for the new iPhone 4 and the first month contract, just to treat myself, so my roll was at about $2.6k.

I decided that I needed to pump some fun back into my game, so decided to give HU a crack. I considered PLO, but after looking at some graphs, I came to the conclusion of - fúck that shít. I dropped like 5BI at first vs. competent opponents who I thought I had an edge on, but then I realised, I'm probably just as poor as these guys. I looked at what they were exploiting me on, and what I could exploit them on, and I figured I was way too passive pre-flop and post-flop. I wasn't c/r enough to counter they cbetting so much, nor was I 3betting enough, or adjusting to them 3betting stupid amounts.

I read the HU Forum for a bit and found some useful links, and some recommended CardRunners videos. I downloaded most of the good stuff, and started watching some cpar1 and MasterLJ. I got some solid foundations down, and went from there. I don't claim to be good at HU, but it's a start and I'll learn, and hopefully I can put in enough volume to a) make this profitable and b) make it fun. Here's my graph for the month thus far, the last 4.2k hands coming in the last 2 days.

If I can spend the next couple of months gathering a solid HU game to go beside my 6max game, I'm confident I can have a good 2011. Hopefully I can keep this volume up for a good while, but I feel like I need to work on my mental game aswell, else it'll be impossible. Also, when two tabling someone and one tabling someone else, I find myself losing focusing of the one tabling match and putting my energy into the two tables session; my concentration is also something I need to put time into improving.

Hopefully will update on Sunday night, with the weekends progress.

Yesterday I played about 2k hands, think I was up 3BI, and ended up about down 2.5 - 3. I was majorly tilting, as I played a reg who kept showing down the nuts, so I quit, went and chilled for a few hours and watched some CardRunners videos.

As you do, I got an urge to play, and felt good, so loaded some tables up. I stacked 2 half stack fish for a BI, and I was ready to quit, until someone sat. I thought I'd check them out, and if they were a reg, I'd go to bed, and obviously stay if they were a fish, seeing as it was about 3am at this point. Anyway, he played 94/93 (sb/bb) or something, and here are some hands .

Just to let you guise know, I've quit Poker until 2011.

I don't enjoy it anymore, and feel it's a chore to grind. This results in me quitting early, or playing badly, so feel it's in my best interest and my rolls best interests to cash it all out and keep it in a separate account until 2011. I might return late December to remove some rust before 2011, but there's no point in me playing when I don't enjoy doing so.

I'm sure I'll be back when I have my hunger back, but work is taking up too much time, and I've really gotten into the gym, so will switch my focus to that for the timing being. Thanks for all the replies, I'll be sure to bump this thread with a link to my new thread in the New Year if I do return, which is more than likely.

Good luck all!

That's a pity OP, this was a good thread. But there's no point in doing something if you aren't enjoying it. Hope to see you next year.

I know how it feels as well, sometimes I just could not be bothered playing at all.

May aswell post my graph since I started the blog.

Last 10k have been brutal, which compounded me deciding to quit as my head wasn't in it. I wasn't prepared for a downswing, as small as it may be to some, so I feel it's best to come back when I'm hungry to work on my game.

100k hands in 5 months, lol.

Ok, a new year, a new goal. I'll post a little update on what's happened since my last post.

I took some time off until early December time, when I started grinding pretty hard for about a week. I put in something like 3k hands per day a little over a week, and did 24k hands, but then decided that I couldn't hack it with work and the gym, seeing as work was ultra busy because of Christmas, so I took another break, until the New Year, when I'd analyse my goals for the year ahead.

I've got my roll at PokerStars, where I've decided to go for Supernova for the coming year. My last 25k hands I've been earning 0.1963 VPP's per hand. It isn't a huge sample, but I'd rather underestimate than overestimate and leave myself with more work, so I'll be calculating at 0.19 VPP's per hand to achieve my goals. Let's say I aim for 100k VPP's, hands wise I'll require 526,315/year, which works out at 43,859/month, which is a test for me, but it's gettable with some work. This would allow me to buy the following bonuses worth 257,020 FPP's.

$1,200 - VIP Stellar Rewards.
$4,075 - VIP Reward Bonuses.
Total - $5,275.

Would certainly go some way to increasing my bankroll, obviously. Once I move up to 100NL, I may be able to change my goals somewhat, and add a lot more FPP's, which will enable me to make more, but $5,275 is the core goal at the end of the year, anything more is a bonus.

Wish me luck!

Ok, so I've taken a look at my current target, and obviously I expected to be behind schedule. I was ill with flu for about 5 days, and I've been pretty busy elsewhere, so putting in volume hasn't been easy so far. Results wise, I'm up about a BI after ~4k hands, was up 7, lost 9, now back to ahead.

VPP's required to be on target: 2,740.
Current # of VPP's attained: 965.

Obviously I'm not happy about being so far behind pace, but I know my volume will be a lot better from here on out seeing as I'm no longer ill and work has settled down, so I should be able to put in a lot more volume. I have the weekend off, hopefully I'll put in about 7k over the weekend, which will be worth about 1.7k VPP's, so if I can maintain pace until the weekend, I should be where I want to be by the end of the weekend, and can then concentrate on pushing ahead of schedule.

Haha, that went well, I pretty much quit Poker from this point, and lost all my money to Full Tilt, I've actually forgotten how much it is, so maybe I'll be in for a nice surprise if they can get back on their feet soon.

I will however be depositing $400 on PokerStars this weekend, so maybe I'll bring this thread back from it's death and start grinding again. Although it won't be too often seeing as I have to fit in 4 days of college, 4 days of work, 3 days of gym and a social life, so we'll see. Updates won't be very frequent, but I'll try and get some in.

Hopefully I can get some readers back.
