I'm at FT of stars donkament 106780787 and barely behind the chipleader

first prize $5300

not too big compared to certain ppl here but prior to this summer I'd only played one donkament in the past 3 years or so, so it kinda means a bit more to me

are you serious? obviously the prize pools could be a little bigger (they get double the field size on the weekends so first goes up to 8-9k) but other than that, what is not to like???

1) field is ridiculously soft
2) if you commit the $62 you should have at least 10k in chips at the first break (often times closer to 15k, it is amazing how light people will stack off 300BB deep)
3) you can almost double up without a showdown on the bubble

Only that I keep getting teased by semi-deep runs only to lose a key flip (or 60/40, 70/30, 80/20) with a few tables left for an almost meaningless profit.

In related donkament news, I'm still in the WCOOP razz tournament (slightly above average stack w/37 left).

According to wikipedia:

Despite being on the margin of the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, the city has a reputation for frequent rain. This reputation derives from this frequency of precipitation as well as the fact that it is cloudy an average of 226 days per year (cf. 132 in New York City). Nonetheless, the so-called "rainy city" receives a smaller quantity of actual precipitation annually, at 37.1 inches, than New York City, Atlanta, Houston, and most cities of the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. Seattle was also not listed in a study that revealed the 10 Rainiest Cities in the continental United States. Most of the precipitation falls as drizzle or light rain, with only occasional downpours. Spring, late fall, and winter are filled with days when it does not rain but looks as if it might because of cloudy, overcast skies.

I think I've also read that Chicago is actually like 4th or 5th windiest city in US
09-10-2008 , 08:54 PM
i thought windy city was something that people from cincinnati called it in the 1800s as an insult, not because of its weather. wikipedia supprts this kind of.

Once again, good UIGEA news. This is still a maybe, but everyone needs to watch this thread. We may be called to get ahold of our representatives if they are voting on this when it happens.

Shhhhh.

(p.s. Discussing poker over the internet is still perfectly legal. My handle on 2p2 is Proofrock. There may be some guy who plays poker at some online cardrooms that also goes by the same handle, but what he does is his business.)

(p.p.s. My official plan was to stop playing online as soon as I moved into the state and start playing exclusively live. It turns out a significant number of the people I've met playing live have been very open about playing online as well. It's not nearly as clandestine as I would have expected.)

ok well this is a long argument that has been put to rest as of late just for the fact that kelistaan starting running better i guess. for those who dont believe that some accounts/players run better than others, you are all very naive and just plain stupid. i will first start off saying i have been playing online poker for since the days of party poker and before ftp was even around. i have played b&m poker for longer than most of you guys have been of legal age and before NLHE was a common game in b&m casinos. anyhow, there is 100% no doubt in my mind that some players are just complete trash yet are fortunate enough to have a "run-good" button somehow activated in their account. do i really believe there is a run-good button? no, its just my way of saying some of the donkeys i play with everyday are extemely lucky and constantly suck out which makes them think a) they are really good, and b) they should keep shoving with ak pf. i know many arguments about certain players arouse from time to time, so i will not post any names of who i think is a bad player or who i think overplays their hand all the time and gets rewarded. i am honestly just ranting cause i played about a 100k break even stretch last month with roughly -5k EV, and now this month i am down about 12 buy-ins and roughly -3k EV after only 20k hands. of course some of you will say im donking off money, and some will say i only play 60bbs and thats why this and thats why that. well to that i say, when im all in preflop and you have an underpair to my kk and aa, this has 0 to do with my stack. when you call 60bbs because you think im short with your 1010 or jj or w/e, this is exactly what i want, but for some reason this damn site keeps giving you the win when i have the huge favorite. my kk has lost to ak preflop at least 15x in the past 120k hands and my ak vs kk (though i dont get this situation too often) has hit 2 times out of roughly 12 battles. anyways, none of this is relevant to any math or any argument, all im saying is some people running so well and some people run like absolute dog doo. why my account is cursed? i have no clue. i even mess around and do some flips vs another reg on here in plo and im 2-11 in the last 13 flips. i am also losing a good portion of my 50/50 hands to the 20bb stacks all-in preflop. just cant shake the funk atm and wondering if anyone aside from kelistaan has felt this pain?
