I still think one volley of 12 gauge buckshot breaks up most riots but thanks to draconian human rights laws no one will let me in charge.

Would the Silva Mac G fight even be interesting? idk I don't think it'd be close.

14yrs is too much to give up when you're going up against one of the elite. I mean who does he think he is Juicy Couture?

Super ****ed up...This one bothered the hell out of me. There have been a few where I thought society was unfair to the officer in question. This one was super blatant and horrible intentions.

I'm curious to see how they get him off this time. Public sector unions seem to encourage all sorts of bad behavior.

It's insane that the guy who committed murder isn't arrested awaiting a trial and that pretty much every other facker like him in the past has always walked.

When I was on a deployment one time I worked with a guy who was a reservist and his main job was a Sheriff in Contra Costa County. It was disturbing talking to this guy, he would brag how he and the others would routinely beat the sheit out of people in jail if they did this or that(stuff like talking back and other relatively benign stuff)

"Yeah bro, this mutha Fer had this attitude and we just kicked the sheit out of him for about 30 min. Those Fers need to learn."

Whenever I see stuff like this in the news I always think back to that guy and imagine there are a lot of people just like him sporting a badge.

It's like that saying if you see one cockroach out and about...

It's obviously not one bad apple. The problem is cultural and systemic.

Anderson Silva fights two weight classes higher than McGregor. Actually, each weight class should be (and eventually will be) 10lbs apart, but it's 30lb difference between LW (155lbs) and MW (185lbs) so it's kind of like 3 weight classes apart.

Furthermore you can consider that McGregor was most successful at Featherweight (145lbs). He's recently been bulking up and looked great in his 170lb fight vs Cowboy but even so he probably didn't have to cut much weight at all.

As opposed to what Conor looked like in his last fight at 145lbs:

So Conor has put on significant weight but he still won't be a true 185lb fighter (ie weighs 200+ lbs and cuts weight). More important than the weight though is the height and reach. The reach difference is only 3 inches, but this is only the 2nd fighter in Conor's UFC career that has a reach advantage against him (the first was Nate Diaz). The height is very significant as Conor is 5'9" and Anderson is 6'2".

It's not a fight I want to see but if it happens it should be interesting. It should be noted that just last year Anderson held his own vs Israel Adesanya who at a year younger than Conor is also an elite striker and the current 185lb Champion. Israel Adesanya is 6'4" with a 3 inch reach advantage over Silva. The bout went to a decision and while the outcome was never in doubt most media outlets did have Anderson Silva winning 1 of the 3 rounds.

I'm surprised people are surprised he hasn't been arrested yet. The system doesn't move that fast. The Minneapolis officer that killed the Australian woman wasn't arrested until 8 months later.

In terms of the charge, you'd need to convince me it wasn't manslaughter.

Wow, that's a horribly distributing story

I always hated the cops because I grew up in Livonia where they were super racist, very rude, and ruined hundreds of high school kids' records every year for MIPs and marijuana charges.

They seem a lot better, but still not great in Ann Arbor.

How will we ever get change? This doesn't seem to be a priority in Washington or Lansing...

I'm not optimistic about him getting charged for murder, but who knows... This one was super blatant

Yeah I watched the style bender fight. I was actually surprised how well Silva did. I still don't think it would be that interesting.

I still think Anderson gets knocked out if he fights Conor. Getting old is a beotch.

We can probably start by having harsh consequences for these pieces of sheit each and every time it occurs. Instead of letting them walk and go work for another dept a year later.

The way we handle these guys are like how the Catholic Church handles their priests. Just say sorry and relocate them somewhere else.

Sure, Anderson is old, slower, more brittle, and not as hungry as he was in his youth.

Still, he's hard to knockout because he's a counter striker, mostly moving backwards and reacting to openings. He was only knocked out once in his 44 fight career (vs Chris Weidman, he was also TKO'd twice due to leg injuries though).

Cowboy, who Conor just fought, has terrible striking defense. Anderson's striking defense is pretty good with good head movement, although he does get cocky at times and let his guard down. Conor beat up Cowboy pretty good with some shoulder strikes in the clinch but he'd probably be wise to stay out of the clinch with Anderson who is very strong there.

Interesting fact, went out to a Home Depot in a neighboring suburb of Minneapolis and they had closed 3 hours early and blockaded the doors because apparently things are moving out of the cities.

Cop who knelt on George Floyd's neck has been involved in 2 other shootings and has a bunch of complaints against him. Clearly not proof of anything, just indications. Also, he and Floyd worked at the same club for years. GF is friends with the husband of the Hennepin County sheriff as well as some cop wives and feels like most of them are also outraged at this murder.

Agreed. Also of note, the University of Minnesota officially cut ties with the MPD today and won't contract with them for use at events etc. Financial loss might be more effective than the protests.

The other officers will plead that they thought the one was just holding down Floyd and could not see from that angle that the knee was choking the neck. That actually might be similar to the defense the arresting officer will raise because he has no alternative.

Otherwise who policies the police? Even well intentioned investigators live the thought this could easily be applied to me in any difficult situation and it's safer just to push more paper. If I had to guess I'd bet the Comey Clappers don't serve one day in prison.

It will be murder. The feds are going to take this one and prosecutor will try to make her career. They will likely cut some deals with the other cops in exchange for testimony.

LoL @ white guy from white town with less than 5% of graduating class being non-white complaining about racist cops hassling him and his white friends for MIPs and marijuana charges when he was in high school.
