+That would be an interesting question whether fat people are really looser or we just notice it more. This goes double for fat women.

Well you shouldn't have brought it up then

Obese people are also typically funnier in real life in order to compensate for other areas. So that dynamic could shift over to poker where they feel the need to be good for the game.

also alcohol is probably one of the reasons for their weight and so they may be more likely to drink a lot at the table in which case that may also make them looser.

yup. funny you bring that up actually since the biggest nit I know is in fact a 300 pound short white woman.

she min buys for 200-$500, depending on the game and only plays 10s+, AQ+, usually with a call

My "all fat people are calling stations" was obviously not meant to be 100% serious, but I think it's more than just correlation as well.

Being good at poker and being healthy both require discipline and self-control. I can't think of any current top poker player who is obese.

Yeah it’s very important to be in shape, if anything so that your mind is sharp and you’re playing your A+ game even 15 hours into a session. ik this is extremely applicable to chess as you’re playing 4-6 hour matches against people exclusively at your level.

I’m not sure about poker since people of all levels play each other. So I’m pretty sure a well rested pro on autopilot should still be able to destroy everyone, through their technical ability. Even if they were obese.

but Scott seiver, and Sam greenwood are two examples off the top of my head.

Although to be fair they are usually good for the game because they are calling stations. If they had the discipline to fold more hands they'd have the discipline to not eat so much.

Lol, that’s pretty solid stereotyping. Never heard that one before

Fat people are also lucky. They store all their luck in their fat.

Right now the economy is actually in decent enough shape to shake off a minor shock or two.

Do people even remember Greg Rayner? He's become somewhat irrelevant since losing his Winstar sponsorship. It's just been so long since he won. Way before Scott Blunstein. Hell, even before Janie Gold and Joe Hachen!

That’s not their kid, he’s rolling off to get help.

They also took his phone and put it on a high shelf

I would argue that even if I lost a good bit of weight of this dad bod I would still be visually unappealing.

May be a bit healthier, although I can still hit aerobic, conditioning markers, it just hurts my knees more than it needs to and probably other people’s sensibility.

People can lose weight but you can't fix being ugly.

Not from seeing you at a buffet, no. But definitely just from seeing you.
