Are wife/kids considered a purchase?

I bought a new car Friday. 2022 Acura MDX (Tech package). Not much wiggle room on the price as they only had 1 on the lot but I did way better on the trade in than expected so it was a winner overall.

Very happy with the purchase.

SPC and I have been highly motivated to purchase. But we recently decided to slow down cuz everything is just moving so fast.

I got lucky on the wife front too, she out earns me right now. But at least I have a huge wang for masculinity purposes.

This is a good point.

I think the performance is really not that impressive. The V10 version has "Lamborghini performance" but my V8 with only 420 HP is slower than a lot of much cheaper modern cars. A fast Camaro for example would absolutely smoke my car in terms of acceleration. Even looking at German cars, a lightly-used BMW M5 would blow the doors off my R8 and cost less to buy and maintain. I considered spending an extra $50K to get a V10, but I couldn't justify paying that much of a premium for basically the same looking car to go a little faster.

But of course I didn't buy my car for the performance or the data sheet. Those others cars could never incite the kind of emotion that an R8 does. Parked next to a Lamborghini Gallardo/Huracan my car gets the same level of attention, and I think the perception among a lot of people is that the Audi is the more classy, less "douchy" choice. Not that I have anything against Lamborghinis I think they are great as well. I did park next to a Huracan in my garage complex last night, and compared to the wedge that the Lamborghini is, my car is something like 2 inches taller and feels just as special. I really bought a budget Lambo for under $100K and when you think of it like that it's not that much money.

If I ever get a realtor it will be the one I sat next to on a plane. She was vastly more interesting than all the ones who Uber me to the airport. Anyway, she said the slightly rural towns just past the burbs are being invaded by yuppies who think their covid working conditions are permanent.
