"prayer" "god" all correlated with religion. I do not like it and it is affecting my ability to stay on topic.
06-27-2012 , 12:13 PM
Well how bout you realize that not everything is about you and get the **** over it?

Thanks.

That is great but I think religion is not to be discussed.

Sure the fire sucks, I wish it upon nobody but keep the witchcraft out of here. I would like to make a donation directly to Colorado park for this, anyone know if any parks got damaged, as well as where I can specifically donate to them.

Were you home schooled as a child?

So, when several people are dealing with the possibilities of losing their homes and communities, your focus is them talking about praying for a better outcome?

I have not. There is a ton of this state I have not seen, and I have seen a lot... If that makes sense!

A lady I met when I got my Rottweiler is a photographer and she has been taking some pictures recently of lakes in the mountains. It is some of the most serene places I have ever seen. I want to build a cabin on the shore and live there the rest of my life. I never knew of these places and now I can't stop thinking about them. I was going to try and visit some of them, but with the fires I don't see that happening.

Almost sounds like Shawshank Redemption right there.

I've only been to CO once, in the winter. I used to go to San Diego once a year for a serious soccer tournament. Maybe if I go to CO in the summer it'll change my mind.

Prayer is not the answer, hard work, dedication and man hours is. If your god wanted you to have better, think their would be a fire to begin with?

End the discussion and focus on helping or talk something else.

That is why religion is not to be discussed, if you want to discuss it their is a privatemessage feature or a religion section

Yeah, I mean my Tebow joke was in poor taste but I was just trying to inject a little humor into an otherwise awful situation
06-27-2012 , 12:23 PM
shh grownups are talking.

CO in the mountains is nice but on the high plains it is hot, dry and awful

Best summers in America are probably Minnesota cruising the lakes or in Idaho/MT around Glacier

West/North MI is pretty sweet too. I'll be there for the fourth.

I'm back! Safe and sound, and I still have a house AFAIK. News coverage shows the fire only got to the far western portions of the neighborhood west of mine.

As long as the winds stay down, they should be able to beat the fire back far enough to stop it from spreading past the main arterial (Centennial/Woodmen for those of you who know C-Springs) and maybe not lose any more houses at all. <crosses fingers> If the wind goes nuts and starts flinging burning ember over half-a-mile again, like it did yesterday, though, all bets are off. No one can build a half-mile wide firebreak in this terrain.

Staying with friends in Black Forest (about 20 miles north-east), so safe and sound. Work closed down for the day, so I guess I'll be online a lot. Not much else to do. Can't work around the house, can't even see the house through the smoke!

Bunch of posers ITT.

Best summers are grinding it in the WSOP events and degenning it with rest of the world.

Good shiet Garrick. Happy to hear that you're safe and sound. Would hate to lose another donkey to the game... =)

Glad to hear!

I have a couple friends who are firefighters (and they're all pyros) who've volunteered to fight other wildfire spots. They all say it's simultaneously tons of fun and scary.

Run good, guys.
Nice. Enjoy vacation. Make sure you see the Weinstrasse while you're in that area. Even if you're not in to wine, the castles and villages are awesome. Go up to Burg Landeck and hoist a cold one in the courtyard while you look over the castle walls down over the Rhine Valley.

If you feel like a bus-man's holiday, Spielbank Bad Durkheim (which is in a cool little town that's been a resort since Roman times) has a very soft 5-10 game on weekends, but they only have two tables, so you need to get on the list early.

A true degen...my man!

Speaking of which. Nowadays, my normal routine of looking up a vacation spot is:

1. Airline
2. Hotel
3. Poker??? (just in case)

For me it's essentially how I can get my wife as happy and wearing the least amount of clothing possible. To the beach we go!

Jeez in 1 month I'll be married for three years. Need to figure out something for that.
