using a nameless 'official' as a source is a fallacy; appeal to authority. ..'authorities said...'
it's a joke that this passes for journalism, imo.
why doesnt the 'official' just write the story him/herself and cut out the middle man? Might as well, if the press is just reduced to an 'official' mouthpiece anyways?
but if you want to believe that this is unbiased journalism, then go ahead,

In the meantime, looks like we may have another patsy on our hands.
who woulda thunk it?
-was given inert explosives by FBI agents, and it was a set up/ PR stunt/ psyop??
these nuts are most always post turtles. (they didn't get there by themselves).

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012...erve-bomb-plot

-drives to the scene w/ FBI agent who supplied fake bomb?

I thought there was something fishy in the CBS article where it states they caught him red-handed with his finger 'on the button', and suggests that danger was narrowly averted by heroic FBI agents. sounds like a movie, imo. We didnt get the whole story, and the gaps were pretty obvious. (in the CBS article).
a good example of yellow journalism designed to whip up emotion, and sensationalism, and fear. Bernays would be proud, imo.

I mean I also "sucked out" on Q3 for a chop (running it twice) with AAKJ on QT3 in a 3bet pot, so I guess I'm a luckbox.

Plo is a ****show. Your just demon why I refuse to play it often. Too damn swingy.
10-17-2012 , 08:13 PM
plo is a joke

Plo requires an infi roll, and unless a plo game is Stupid soft, long run is too damn long

Might also be that hero has a signif greater edge in nl than plo
10-17-2012 , 08:34 PM
Abreevs much?
10-17-2012 , 08:35 PM
Plo is not meant to be played shallow, its a deep stack game. If you are a 100bbs you need to flop a wrap and get your chips in the middle.
10-17-2012 , 08:37 PM
What made you think I was shallow? Did you think I just bought in 100bbs 10 times and got it in 10 times?

If you are good at nl you should be a natural at PLO. So you either have major leaks in nl or you have a illusion that your good in nl.

Obviously I'm talking to the plo haters and not you.

I love PLO I call it "holdem on steroids ".

Variance talk is crap in PLO, only the bad players blame it on that. You either are running over expected value or under expected value. Losing or winning in plo can never be just about skill set to the hipsters, its quite annoying.
10-17-2012 , 08:45 PM
Yeah, alright. I think when played deep Omaha can be quite nitty, but you're still going to get into lots of spots where you jam the pot with a lot of equity, but terrible cards kills your action or your hand. I think the mark of a good PLO player in those situations is when they can control the pot size very effectively and get action when they do... but they must also "hold" in those jacked up pots.

Also not barrelling into the nuts is helpful too.

PLO live is probably a LOT less high variance than online, so while yes, PLO online is ridic variance, the bad run I had last night is probably a fairly rare occurence, considering that the pots were mostly not that big. I just happen to lose (or chop) every big one I did get into.

Plo is not as swingy as people think if u r doing it right
10-17-2012 , 08:49 PM
If it's not swingy, you're not doing it right.
10-17-2012 , 08:50 PM
I wouldn't waste time playing live PLO, PLO is an online game, I can't wait till online poker is legal again.

Its not swingy if you respect it as an action game.

That makes no sense.
