I used to love history channel. I quit watching awhile ago after watching the worst show ever put on tv.

The show was about a crystal skull found in an aztec ruin. Supposedly the skull had properties such as producing images if you project light or a hologram through it. It had several other incredible properties which the show tested and disproved for an hour as well as explain the history around the skull.

Then in the last 2 minutes they explain that the archaeologist just bought it at an auction and planted it in the ruins for himself to find. WTF if you know that why did I just watch an hour about the ****ing skull?

Highbrow tv stations like History channel are now just too often total garbage. It's almost like already used up all of the world's interested history in their previous programs.

The History channel is an example of how the masses think real history is boring. My grad student in history friends called it The Hitler Channel.

Which rule? The you can only bring max buyin rule or you have to bring your whole stack rule?
11-04-2012 , 02:19 AM
What are you arguing for, being able to go down to the minimum buyin?

Limped pot is this to thin?

4 limpers to me(2 lp and 2 tight passives. I have 84s on the button and call(I'm playing basically 100% of my button and raising about 10% from everywhere else, please don't say fold pre).

Flop comes qj6r everyone checks to me I check, turn 4 with a fd, I bet $20, lp calls, river 2diamond and hero bets $40 lp calls. Thoughts?

I personally assume level 0 = absolute value (pair of aces, pair of 3s, straight), level 1= reading board texture (trips on a straight board is weak, two pair on dry board strong), level 2 is hand reading, level 3 is repping, etc etc.

Obv originally that might not be meaning, but that's what it's been assumed to me on 2+2 a lot. In any case you can generally gather from context the meaning.

That's the way it is at Foxwoods I think. I haven't played there in a while. If your game breaks and you get moved I think you can bring your stack, but if you voluntarily move you can only bring the max. Not positive, but thats the way I think it is.

Once every 100 hours or so of playing I make an utterly obscenely terribly horrendous play. One that in no universe has any justification. That happened tonight.

I raise AKs pre to 12 and get 3 callers. Flop is KQ6 with two diamonds. SB leads out for 20. Now right here I literally know that he only ever has exactly KQ or 66. This villain will never ever ever ever bet one pair. Even toppest pair (unless it's an overpair). Buuuuuut I decide I'll just call and see if he slows down on the turn.

Turn card is an offsuit 2. Villain snap jams for 200.

Normally I just lol to myself and snap fold, like I did earlier in the night with AA. But not here. Instead I go deep into the tank and level myself into thinking that he thinks I have a draw and is trying to bet me off of it (lol live player style) with Kx. I'm even saying out loud how terrible this call is while I'm putting the money in the pot. Villain had KQ obbbbvvvvviiiioooousssslllyyyy.

I'm an imbecile.

I bet flop, bet turn, c/c river

river bet was like 220 into 100,

board 55KhhATr

I c/c A3hh and get shown K55.

NO MORE ****ING HERO CALLING. Thats it, I either bet fold river or c/f rivers ESP vs big bets

Either end story with ... "And then I binked an Ace on the river".
Or no care

Woopee, I just traveled back in time.

c/c is a very important skill, but is definitely not the default play with your range without specific reads/reasons.

I need to just bet fold more. Biggest leak most players have post
11-04-2012 , 05:37 AM
bet/raise is also an option.

I folded AT UTG at my local casino for the first time in three months. In a related note, it was the first time in three months where my table was raising more than 25% of hands preflop.
11-04-2012 , 05:56 AM
std fold

also what do you guys think the impact of playing high is
11-04-2012 , 06:04 AM
Impact on what?

IN one of my 4-8 binge stories, someone raised and I folded but the cards hit the dealers hand and exposed AJo. The entire table was shocked because I was the most aggressive person. They did not know that folding Ace-Jack preflop was possible and I'm annoyed that I leaked the secret.

Playing ATo UTG, but call yourself a nit. Wat. You know even 35/22 regs at 6-max fold ATo in LJ, right?
