Ya... let's just call it a misdemeanor?

If the max at 5/10 was 3k I would agree to never do it at all. If I end up in 100BB max games I will tilt through the roof.

They're having a 3k freeroll turbo sit'n'go where I play, any pointers? I wanna ship this bitch but I'm not a tourney player...

depends on structure, action will be loose most likely cause its a free roll, and structure is prob fast but I dunno, gonna need to make/get dealt/ some hands usually not alot of FE in these things esp early on.

I would be pretty funny. Or maybe just completely lame. Or maybe just embarrassing. Probably most lame. I'm too lazy to try it.

The freeroll tourney will be a turbo style NLHE tournament. All 9 players will begin
with the same 5,000 chip stack. That's all they said..

Everybody gets paid though:
• 1st place - $1,000
• 2nd place - $600
• 3rd place - $350
• 4th place - $300
• 5th place - $200
• 6th place - $150
• 7th place - $150
• 8th place - $150
• 9th place - $100

Nowadays, with 200BBmax games its not as bad (although I still will sneak on an extra 500/1k chip every now and then)

Uncapped is where It's at!
When I first started playing live, after I lost a pot, say if I was down to $230, I'd throw 3 $100 chips onto the table ($500 cap).

Then a couple nits complained that I had more than $500 and I had to take off the extra $30.

Since then I always just top off to $500 exactly. If I'm down to $437 I'll take off $37 and throw in a $100 chip. I'm already a winner, I don't need to deal with other people thinking I need to cheat to win.

found a fairly reliable way of spotting regs. my poker room is at the very bottom level of a (i believe) 3 level river boat. since hot air rises, it can get cold/very cold down in the poker room. I'm talking in certain areas of the poker room have probably reached into the 50s in the dead of summer no less. given these conditions many regs know to bring jackets to wear while they grind, even if it is 100 degrees out that day. fish and novices do not know that since they aren't there frequently, so before i even sit i have somewhat of a read on the table - if they have a jacket on they're at least somewhat experienced and/or a reg. if they have short sleeves on they are obv newbies.

lol clothing tells.

lol someone did something similar to this to me recently. i was taking my whites off the table and putting reds on because i dropped below the max buyin and the guy gets into a fit saying "how much do you have in your pocket there? you can't take money off the table. what are you doing??" i'm like i dropped below $200 and i added on back up to $200. How am I taking money off the table????? Taking my whites off the table and putting reds on is not going south, lol. Marked this guy as a nit for life in the player notes in my head.

Some of you are truly anal-retentive and stick out in live setting like a sore thumb.
07-26-2012 , 02:29 PM
stick out as what?
07-26-2012 , 02:30 PM
I've been a reg at my casino for a year. Every reg already knows who I am anyway.

As serious poker players we should all strive to not pay attention to details.

I sometimes play too many hands and try to win too many pots. Somehow I'm still one of the top winners in my game but some nights I just spew. Like last night. Called too many marginal holdings only to hit good flops, get it in and lose a couple of stacks. It's a subtle form of tilt that I need to squash like a bug.

I never take more than 2.5 buyins with me when I play. I went something like 15 sessions in a row without hitting my stop loss before this past week which has been super swingy. +600, -550, +1.5k, -500 last four sessions. I have $6.5k for 1/2 but still wouldn't be comfortable losing more than 500-600 in a night.

ZOMG... Don't even get me started on the PLAYERS that make it their job to point out that I have over the max.

Every now and then it's happened... And to make things worse it like right after I lose a pot. Say I had 2k and lose an all in to some guy... Get down to 1.2k. I take out a 1k note and rebuy chips. God forbid I have an extra 20 BBs

One thing to notice, another to practice anal retentive behaviors.

the people that do this should immediately be marked as a nit for like the next full year at least imo. at least you get a read out of it.

lol which would be what exactly?

If you don't know what they are, then you're probably not paying enough attention.
07-26-2012 , 02:51 PM
the only behavior i posted about was dropping below the max buyin and adding on back to the max. how is this anal retentive? lol i love hyper critical 2+2ers. zomg, someone posted in the chat thread about adding on to their stack and made a post i deem to be long. let me immediately cry about it.
