Is it not possible to have ur ipoker acc in NOK or the same currency as ur MB account.
Losing that amount when I imagine u are MB VIP would send me crazy.
Every poker account I have is in € which is the same as my MB so never have had any probs.

it's from MB---> my bank account that I lose the money... both my poker account and MB are in USD. I am not VIP, they won't give it to me b/c I never deposit.

Doesnt ur Mb acc currency have to be the same as ur national currency?

wtf I feel like an idiot for not even noticing until now, and usually I don't really care about that stuff and think that people that do are nits but I really feel like $100+ is way too much and is borderline ridiculous.

RiverHitShit and phb4O487, please stop snap-sitting out when the fish says he's going for a piss and we're playing 4-handed. It's stupid

it's SO DUMB, I can regularly see that it annoys a fish when people snap sit out after he does and then he will often just leave and play a sit n go instead of coming back to the cash game after he went to get another beer from the fridge..

Moneybookers themselves aren't costing you on the exchange rate, its more than likely your bank.

I have some non ipoker poker sites which play only in USD$, when I want Ł (which is my MB acct currency) I withdraw say $10K and it hits my MB in Ł almost EXACT rate to what xe.com or oanda are quoting that day, sometimes I get a little more - so it isnt them raping on the exchange rates - I know neteller is really bad for this. My ipoker is kept in Ł so there is no exchange for me anyway. MB only charge you a small withdrawal fee to your bank and when your VIP you get that back anyway. I would suggest having a MB account in your domestic currency then you wont get charged from site-MB-bank VIPs can do this afaik.

This isn't true, at least for Spain. It says quite clearly, even if your acct is USD, that if you are sending to your bank (which has to be in Spain) that they must send the transfer in the local currency.

This means they get to process the currency conversion, instead of the receiving bank. They claim to charge a 1.5% fee...but it's hard to see what exchange rate they grab each day (it seems its the least favorable one during the day) and then apply their fee. It ends up being almost always over 2%. So if you withdrew $7k USD, and lost $130..you were pretty close to 2%. This is super standard with currency conversions, and yes it's a freaking rip off. I've been trading currencies over the last year and I'm amazed still how expensive most banks make it just to convert money.

I ended up asking for MB VIP, opening a EUR and USD account, and I only withdraw with the EUR account.

Ya I'm 90% sure MB sends me the money from a Norwegian account therefore they are sending NOK and doing the exchange internally.

I'm assuming you are MB VIP? So when you withdraw from iPoker how is the conversion into MB?

Moneybookers will send the moeny via a routing bank where it is converted from usd to your currency, this is where vig accrues. Even when have usd bank account you must make it clear to mb to send direct, not via a routing bank.

so all you guys are depositing 5k euros a month onto gaming sites? (that's what they told me I needed to get VIP)

Erm, what I wrote is not wrong.

I have a very close contact at Moneybookers. I even do some VIP 'stuff' for them and I know what the charges are.

I dont have a clue if you can get a NOK currency account, I doubt it. I was talking about more general Ł/USD$/CA$, almost certainly you can hold a multi currency account ie one for Ł and one for USD$ - when you are a VIP.

I have Ł and I rarely use my $ one, what I'm saying is, if I withdraw $10k from a poker site (not ipoker as its already in Ł) it hits my Ł MB account at exactly spot rate for the day, no vig/juice or any exchange rate charges. This is the exact reason I use MB as opposed to Neteller and exactly the reason why I promote MB to people I know. In general its your bank that charges you an exchange rate, if you send a load of USD$ to your NOK bank account I'm pretty sure its your banks taking the vig. Even if it is MB, get VIP open a multi currency acct and you wont suffer. Obv for $/Ł/CA$

If anyone wants any info on the VIP programme who isnt already a VIP please pm me and I will discuss it further. I'm not allowed to solicit here as its against the 2p2 TOS.

All u need to do is deposit 5k for one month, then ask them and u should have no probs. Once ur VIP u dont have to deposit again.

"almost certainly you can hold a multi currency account ie one for Ł and one for USD$ - when you are a VIP"

As a vip you can email them telling them you will create a new account in different currency with a separate email and their security won't automatically lock it is what they told me.

so 2% instead of the normal 1%, did u use the right exchange rate for that date? if you did, ive heard mb have started to do the currency exchange themselves with some countries, so theyll exchange it to nok take a vig, not sure about this though.

i use two monitors and keep the lobby on the right one. when i get a waiting list request it pops up on the left sometimes behind a table, is there any way of changing this so that it pops up on the right monitor instead?
