It's time for an update/brag!
After complaining on here about how I was having a tough time at poker I decided to cash out my roll from iPoker for a much needed "vacation". I also decided to sell my condo because it is just too much stress for me to handle while playing poker full time. I'm really happy with this decision as it will give me about $80k to have in my bank account on top of my poker roll. The last year and a half really showed me how important it is to not have to rely on winning to pay the bills.
Anyways, after about 2 weeks away from the table I got bored and deposited $800 on Stars to play some SCOOPs with a nice 3-5 buyin roll.
So let me just say this has been a pretty good "vacation".
Quite a few of you mentioned that the biggest problem with my game was the pressure I was under month to month. I took that into account and decided to get rid of most of the pressure I was under. To do that I decided to sell my condo. I've obviously run ridiculously well this month at tournaments but I do think that not feeling pressured to win really helped me late in these tournaments. I wasn't nitting up with 25 left, I was playing for first. The money didn't mean the world to me anymore, it was just the competition that I was craving. It made me feel like I did when I was crushing the cash games back in 2008 but not worrying about how much money I was making. The only thing on my mind back then was making sure my BB/100 would go up. Competition. That's what poker is all about. Not money.
I know it's hard to give credit to the people in the iPoker regs thread when you run good at tournaments, but I sure will try. Following everyones advice has made me a happier person. Thank you for that.
