Happy New Year, ya'll. Good luck next year (as long as it's not against me). :-)

Hmmm, apparently I'm a bit of a polesmoker myself.

I always leave multiple gaps, but I always sit in position. I'll have to switch to your method to boost my self respect. It is certainly more polite, which I'm big on.

it just occurred to me that this is like the "urinal" situation. if there are a bunch of urinals and some guy is in the urinal to the far right, don't take the one right next to him. It's gheeeey! :-)

If Im joining a table with 1 reg I usually sit directly across from him to not start any stupid seat jumping wars. As for joining such a table and sitting out til its 3-4 handed, I see no prob with it. Like someone else said youre helping to start a table, you shouldnt HAVE to play heads up vs a good reg which is probably slightly +ev to -ev depending.

I just tried the sitout method as the first person at the table, took about four minutes for every seat to fill. I sat in after 4ppl, thumbs up, will try again!

Rate the gayness of this table starting move.

So I join a table with pleasebluffme12 and make it a point to sit across the table so there is no positional advantage when the table fills. He immediately sits out when I buy in. Within a minute a fish sits down to my right. Pleasebluffme12 leaves the table and comes back 5 seconds later and sits on my direct left. This annoyed me to no end.

resitout and sit to his left. Then 3bet relentlessly.

That's got to be a 10. The only way it can get any gayer is if he said, "Element, you look tired and look like you can use a massage"... And 70s porn music starts playing in the background.

on the other hand, you DID get pbm12 to sit at one of your tables..... +EV fer sure, no matter where he's sitting.

I play 9 tables now and yesterday I was on the wrong end of set over set on two tables at the same time. I can't remember if that was 3 or 4 for the session, but that really blew. Hopefully being doomswitched on the first session of the new year is good luck. :-(

I think they should probably merge us with SSFR, or at least re-allocate and include 1/2 in MSFR. There really aren't enough postings per day to keep things that interesting.

BTW, I took about 2 weeks off from poker for the holidays, but I've noticed a huge increase in players and tables on FT. Is this some seasonal thing (maybe winter break) or is poker and FT getting more popular? Unfortunately, seems like a lot of the newer players are decent.

there are just so many ***** god damn short stackers.

every single one of them has like 200k hands on table ratings and are up like 3k.

its a ***** joke. these ***** coksuckers are all playing for rakeback and ftp points so they can buy more ftp jerseys.

I noticed the other day that Statutry started playing FR. I remember when he SSed 6max. Most of the other FR SSers are pretty tame, but Stat's play is wild.

Also, I've had a few Ray Lapsley sightings. Are you back? :-)

I don't mind people buying in short - maybe they suck so they want to buy in small, or they don't have a lot of money, etc.

However, the squirreling is just super-annoying. Remember the HSP when Freddy Deeb got pissed off because the table accused him of "going south?". He was angry because it was an insult to his integrity. But online short stackers have no such issues.

I think the best solution is just to increase the time limit before you can return and buy in for less to 2-6 hours, instead of 30 mins. I suppose they can just play every table on multiple sites, but at least you won't have to see the same ones return to your table. But some regs like TE and GM may not like the idea of having to sit back down with 3BIs. :-)

I'm not a fan of the deep tables. They just aren't very popular.
01-08-2009 , 08:08 PM
I normaly don't play afternoons but they are pretty bad right now. 4-5 per table it seems. I quit.
