LOL what lurkers? This forum is dead and we don't have even posters and you are saying lurkers....

haha, if random fish lurkers want to use pokerscout to migrate to the site(s) I play on, I think posting the URL is +EV imo.

The skull and bones society view of 2p2 always cracks me up. There is no single site, application, or pooh-bah post that gives a baseline player an edge over a well-rounded, well-read, and experienced player. If some lurker wants to put in the time and effort to get there, so be it. Reading this thread isn't +10 to soul reading or something.

the software on stars is just more efficiently programmed. I played 16 tables at FTP and my computer was always on the verge of crashing. I was playing 20 tables at stars with no lag whatsoever. As for the layout and what not, once you get used to it its about the same, the betpot script is key.

Cool. Please win lots so you can trade me for ftp$$ and I can play on stars some.

#1 Stars isn't rigged, FTP is.
#2 Stars VIP Store offers cookies, FTP dosen't

And that's all.

sorry - I'm a spaz. I think the PS blurb should be:

* once you reach SNE (say you're in the second year), on an ongoing basis 1mm VPPs would get you $38K in milestone bonuses ($28K in bonuses + $10K entry fee)? Plus you would have 5mm FPPs (1mm VPPs x SNE multiplier of 5), which you can cash in at the store for $80k. So that would be 118K annually. Plus you get some freerolls which are worth a few thousand a year.

Anyway, I don't think it's quite worth the "65%" or whatever figure they are throwing out, but it's obviously still the best publicly available deal out there.

also, I overestimated the FT rakeback. I now get:

At FT, you get $59K for 1.8mm hands. Plus you get around 3mm FTPs, which I guess are worth around 0.4 cents each, so that's $8K (around 12K less rake adjustment). Plus you get Ironman medals, which I'm guessing is worth like $6K per year (complete guess). And if you sign up thru a rakeback affiliate with a rake race, 1.8mm hands should get you another 18K a year. So that's around 91K annually, and those last three items are somewhat random guesses.

Meh. I guess the bottom line for me is that playing for rewards doesn't make sense.

BTW, what does it say about the two sites that on PS you can buy a Porsche, but on FT a MiniCooper? :-)

Tell you what. For those of you complaining about table ratings it isn't to bad for some of us who are running below expectation with the fairly small sample sizes since they just got started tracking. Still I think it is a huge breach of privacy. Any way to email them or something to get off the database?
12-18-2008 , 02:55 AM
I've emailed them. Never received a response.

I wouln't worry too much about tableratings - there's really nothing you can do unless the poker sites take steps to end all datamining. At least for FR it doesn't matter too much. Regs already know who's good. Uneducated fish aren't going to know. Educated fish may look, but it takes a long time to look up everyone at the table. But most tables already have a few good regs anyway. If the more educated people avoid you at the tables, it leaves a nice seat to the newly arriving fish to sit down.

It really only sucks if you play HU, but I hear that game sucks from all the competition for fish.
12-18-2008 , 12:20 PM
There may be nothing we can do if sites don't try to stop it, but I can still hate it. Im not even sure how they manage to data mine all the tables at the same time. If someone could tell me how they get pretty much every hand that would be appreciated.

My basic argument is that people shouldn't have this information so easily when they are
1. Too lazy to figure it out themselves (datamining, observation)
2. Too stupid to figure it out themselves

You overestimate the average regulars ability to identify who are the good regs and who are the wannabe 2p2 stats regs who actually suck. Especially when moving up, you encounter a lot of regs that seemingly arent good but absolutely kill the games. Now, you can find out who the terrible ones are with a click of a button. Also, every once in a while some random 52/7 starts spouting off stats at the table and saying how he just looked up so and so and they are a losing play.

Also, for those of us who downplay that we are poker pros or dont divulge how much we make, friends/family/girlfriends can now find that information by simply googling your screename. I don't doubt for a second that someone at some point will be curious enough to google me and find out. I would just rather that information be kept private.
12-18-2008 , 12:52 PM
I think the same type of guys who use datamining to "figure out" the regs are the same type of guys who suck at poker so I'm not worried imo
12-18-2008 , 01:24 PM
why would you want those guys that suck at poker to have any additional tool to help them suck less. I want them to continue sucking at poker to the full extent they are capable of. I dont care if they are bad at poker, I still dont want them to know who is good and who is not.
