Way ahead of pace. Have til 6/1 to lose 10 more lbs and I haven't even cut carbs yet. Might have to fk around and throw a couple cheat meals in to keep this interesting.

Not part of the official bet, but after some setbacks...and I am doing well. Haven't been able to work out for a week due to my injury but getting back to it this weekend. Went old school meal replacement/very low carb/high protein and am now back on pace.

You won't. I've done it. You lose strength because of lowered glycogen stores in your muscles, not due to a reduction of contractile tissue. This is only a problem if you're a competitive lifter. Who cares if your squat and bench drop 50 pounds or whatever, YOU'RE LEAN!

Your body works incredibly hard to build muscle tissue. It's a precious resource, and your body won't dump it first. Only when you're in extreme situations that require your body to feed on itself to SURVIVE will you actually lose muscle.

Your fear is a common one, but it's misplaced.

I care that my squat, Bench and deadlift drop 50lbs. I have an eventual 1k club goal.

What's more important to you, hitting a 1k lbs total or losing fat?

A 1k total is easy to reach. You can do it within a year of dedicated, well-programmed lifting.

Tough call.

I originally started because I just wanted to make the things I love to do - skiing, fkcing, golfing, hiking, league sports - easier.

Then I started lifting and really enjoy it. I like lifting heavy ish off the ground.

I've also been training for a triathlon the last 6 months and have really started to get into it.

May have fallen short of the "choose my plate" guidelines with this one.

Weighed in at 86.5kg. Took me all week to lose the weight I put in last weekend. Happy to be back here tho and if I was offered the opportunity to stay at this weight and composition for the next 5 years, I'd snap accept.

Aiming for another 3kg in next 4 weeks for full six pack engagement and to allow some leeway for full Vegas food sluttage

That's an interesting conundrum albeit I ultimately would definitely come down on being leaner and less strong

Wildcard is that 1k lb club is way way more impressive at say 190 than it is at 230
