Yeah...I mean, I used to think 3 bet/folding was terribad until I saw someone do it with success...and the first two times I tried it, I folded out a c/r with TPTK and then with a bare non-nut flush draw. And then, the hand I posted. I was 4bet in between by a set that went to showdown against someone else (I folded, obviously).

Maybe I am a victim of a small sample size of success?

Rather than derail this thread, PM those 2 hands and let me have a look if you would. I mean, sometimes raise/folding is for reasons other than info. but 3 betting is like usually way out of hand.

The old saying big hand big pot, small hand, small pot is actually more powerful than most realize. Now im sure i come across sounding like i play a very soft nitty type of game with rare spurts of big betting when i have a monster. In reality, many of the better regs just flat out wont sit on my right due to my aggression. The difference is aggression is for polarized nut/bluff type hands, and medium pots are for medium hands. When i see a new player raising a flop with say TT on a 875 2 tone flop (and other overplaying of hands like this), i check him off as a weaker less telented player right off.
