Neb, one of the very specific reasons we donk small on alot of flops is bc fish is squeezed in between (assuming we flat and he calls pre as well)

When we donk super small, I'm talking like wtf small, his dead money also gets squeezed in (bc he always calls), then btn can either commit with an overpair or go nuts with AK or whatever.

It's just a neat little face up trick that works really well in specific spots in live poker.

If we flat and fish folds flop is an easy check.

OK, Hero flats and V1 calls:

Pot $180, Hero $230, V1 $180 & V2 $940

Or,

Hero raises to $130, V1 folds, V2 calls:

Pot $270, Hero $160, V2 $870

...

I like the min(ish) raise best to setup a flop shove.

You just cold 4bet in ~100bb live poker. Against most casino regs, you're making it pretty easy for them to fold their QQ-. I was able to get away from my QQ the other day when I 3bet an LP raise only to have AA limp/reraise for just 66bb stacks; if he hadda flatted, there's a decent chance I go broke on 8 high boards.

MUST CALL. Man, I hate folding KK. I don't think I could do it before the flop. I guess "I can't dodge bullets baby."

But that's kinda the point of calling preflop. We're not running into many hands other than AA when we get 5!. If we call, we're rarely folding, and many hands we can get AI against are going to be TP < KK

do you understand how this is turning our hand face up
Do you understand how many times Ive been called when I do this? They put me on AK the majority of the time.

Just call. We want to keep the whale in. The only thing shoving accomplishes is getting the money in pre if the villain has a hand like QQ and the flop comes down with an ace or king. His hands like AQ have fairly low equity against us and some decent reverse implied odds as well. I guess shoving also gets some hands like 9s to fold that could crack us but that's a risk worth taking.

Thanks for the replies all.

Spoiler:
Hero 4bet to 135, folds back to Villain who tanks for a bit before going AI, hero calls. Villain had AA and in this situation money woulda got in regardless as flop was 223 but I think everyone has convinced me it would be better to call OOP to keep his entire range in. I think he makes the 3bet with TT+ and maybe AQs but it's hard to say what he does with those hands vs my 4bet. At the time I thought he'd call or go AI with QQ+ and AK, though it's hard to say if he flats or jams with AK.
