Well, I didn't really post the hand that well. It got capped preflop seven ways for 5 bets each, the flop was two bets I believe with five players seeing the turn(1 all in), and the turn was raised by the player to my right, making the turn two big bets to call. I think I had the math right, and I really didn't think I was ahead...it looked like I was 4th. But if the math had said to stay, I would have. 26 big bets in the pot and I had to call two with the player to my left who had bet the turn and I wasn't sure if he was reraising. 13-1 on a 15-1 and I might have to pay more.

The young kid(all in player) who stood up and shouted what he needed obviously rolled over A5 when the 9 hit the river. It's amazing how many players I play against are completely honest.

I am on the plane now and have paid for half the flight. About to try and pay for the second half now

(b) sounds NO GOOD.
Wimp! Unless he's making the drive sometime between 3 pm and 7 pm, it's an easy drive. Going all the way down to Garden City would be worse. Even Bay 101 would be better than Garden City.

i'm staying on a floor in berkeley so my options are sort of limited to places i can take BART or a bus to (although lucky chances 9/18 is an option)

basically i think i'll play the oaks 6/12 unless i make a big WCOOP run or go on a huge heater before i go, in which case i'll take my 15/30 shot

You're practically next door to Oaks, so there's no reason to go elsewhere.

To whom do we owe this great honor that you've graced us with your presence?

Small stakes:

I'd like to introduce my friend, vilemerchant. I've been trying to get him to start posting for quite some time. I shoulda figured he'd sneak one in when he knew I'd be away.

This bloke is one of the toughest opponents I have ever encountered in the 5/10 game and we've played against each other a bunch. Despite the fact that I think ss would benefit greatly from his participation, I'd like to think he'd could grab the occasional morsel from us as well.

Welcome, mate. Look forward to you being around a bit.

Bad idea. I'd wait until they landed safely before doing so.

This reminds of something an anesthesiologist buddy of mine used to tell folks that asked him how much he was gonna charge them to "put them to sleep." He told 'em going to sleep was free; waking up was what he charged for.

Starting to pack up evac stuff. Eastern part of fire is uncontrolled. Slight chance that we will have to evacuate. Can't pack much ... taking WITHG for some light reading if needed.

Played the early morning Bay101 donkament yesterday. Stayed in for nearly 2 hours without winning as single pot!?!! ONly saw 3 face cards the entire time!!! Best hand was 55..lol I'm UTG w/ ~8.5BBs and I look at A and shove without looking at my second card. The guy 2 seats to my left shoves over the top and I'm like.. hmm not good.

He had KK, and I turn up my A2 Oh well.

Went to play some 8/16 after busting out at a newly started table. Played for 3.5 hours and turned my $400 buy-in into $1406

Fav hand had to be my AA running into QQ,JJ, and TT on a JT5A7 board!

I'll post my 4 level pyramid stack if my damn phone decides to cooperate and let me get it off!

You can tell he's been in Berkeley before because he spells it correctly.

I might get in a Monday daytime session, I'll look for you there.

speaking of donkaments ill be liveblogging the $215 LHE WCOOP tomorrow here....let us gogoogogogogogogogogogo

(also playing a NL one, but that's boring and really i wish i had my FPPs back so i could buy a cash bonus right now)
09-05-2009 , 02:09 PM
well i busto'd the NL event in about 15 minutes (laggy BTN raises his 4th hand in a row, i 3b A8s from the SB...flop 789 i bet he calls, turn A i tank then shove he calls AJ river T FML)

then proceeded to tilt off 60 BB's...this day is getting off to a great start
09-05-2009 , 04:57 PM
update 1 (the boring one)

at 4630 (from 5000), everything has been pretty uneventful so far. only interesting hand:

i raise A4s in the HJ, BTN coldcalls, both blinds call. flop AJ8dd, i bet BTN raises, blinds fold i call. turn 5r i c/c. river 8d i check he bets i think for a bit and call he has KTdd fml.

I too am playing the $215 FLHE event...

Playing an aggressive game going by these stats...

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 51 hands and saw flop:
- 2 out of 6 times while in big blind (33%)
- 1 out of 6 times while in small blind (16%)
- 2 out of 39 times in other positions (5%)
- a total of 5 out of 51 (9%)
Pots won at showdown - 1 of 3 (33%)
Pots won without showdown - 1

Which were at one stage 0/31...

I love poker...

down to 8440 from a high of 11990...haven't won any of the last 42 hands

one hand i think i misplayed--the idea was to get an extra bet from the Ax hands that would call a bet but check the river back UI, since i was calling the river anyways and would never get raised by a worse hand. in retrospect i think i should probably c/f the river since all i beat is AK and AJ and i think he's checking them back.
