I'm not posting in this thread yet because it's still August on the west coast.

So far, drinking and multitabling have worked out really well for me. Won back half my losses so far.

I think I've found the secret to online poker. Empty bottles of scotch and tiny windows. I put the tilt blocker over my hole cards. As long as you can see the bet/raise button... unbeatable IMO.

Out of Macallan 12. Any suggestions for the next bottle of bourbon/scotch?

Also tape over the part of your monitor that says "fold." Works wonders.

I dunno, check-calling 3 streets with Q-high in BvB doesn't seem to work as well as it did against Doug. I'm going to e-mail tech support and tell them the interwebz is broken.

I have found the secret to life. $1 DVD rentals (www.dvdplay.com) and a DVD burner. If this poker thing doesn't work out, I have a plan B. Don't tell me the Chinese are already 2 steps ahead of me.

What if I told you the Chinese owned DVDplay?

Last month 3/6 stats:

Hands played: ~6000
Dollars won: ~100
Rake paid: ~800
Rake back: ~200
Bonus cleared: ~100

Yet I won a grand playing craps. Hmmm......

So you made around 1BB/100 w/ rakeback and bonus. EZ game. BTW I've recently started reading your blog - nice work.

We had this same scotch thing going in last month's thread. Starting about post 122, which pretty much ended the whole discussion, imo.

Up in Seattle last Friday evening. Ended up having dinner at a Dennys. They had a few beer selections on tap. I had there hef which was by Pyramid. Man I thought I would never say the sentence: " Wow, I had a great brew at Dennys"

If it makes you feel any better, I never thought I'd hear it.

My place of work is near La Canada, location of the the Station Fire. They shut down the facility yesterday due to bad air. (I found better air at Commerce.) Back today and it's raining ash. Supposed to be real hot today again also. Niice.

Flying in from Boston on Sunday, I got a real nice look at the fires. It would be almost pretty by night if you ignore the fact that people have died or lost their homes. Hope things are safe and not too ash ridden where you work, albacorela.

My wife lapped me at Carcassone last night.

It seems that Mt Wilson is vulnerable. Firefighters had to abandon it due to threat of roads being engulfed. Mt Wilson Observatory has a lot of history (Edwin Hubble's great work).

Uggggh, GL to you down there! Fires suck. We just had some a few weeks ago in the Santa Cruz area.
09-01-2009 , 02:33 PM
There is basically nothing firefighters can do unless the weather cooperates. Last I heard they weren't expecting that anytime in the next few days. Hopefully no serious structures are destroyed, but we live in a fire adapted environment - this type of stuff comes with the territory.

At $150/bottle, I think I'm going to have to pass. My new rule is a bottle can't cost more than one BB, so I'm going to have to move up to 80/160 before I can buy a bottle of Macallan 18.
