Great software! Got it working for a couple of sites but not Party. After going through a list of posts in this thread with the word 'Party' in, and thinking I had finally discovered that the reason I couldn't get Party to work was that I needed to use a separate group for it. But it's still not recognising my tables. I'm guessing either it's the regex or I'm a ******. Probably the latter but I'll leave some table names anyway:

Table 117906 - NL Hold'em - $2/$4
Table 178681 (No DP) - NL Hold'em - $2/$4
Jackpot # 1769970 - NL Hold'em - $2/$4
Jackpot #1773270 (No DP) - NL Hold'em - $2/$4

PlaceMint v3.0 Beta 2
I had expected to be able to do more work right after first beta release, but I had a number of things got in the way.

Configurations will be automatically up-converted when you run with the beta, but they will no longer run with the stable v2.1 build. So backup your configuration and regex list if you want to go back.

Below is a list of the major changes. Some of them were in the first beta, but there are a number of new things. Please try them out and let me know if there are any issues. Hopefully this will hold people over before I can get to something I feel is stable for v3.0.

Changes since v2.1
New: Support for window classes
New: Recent menu in tray
New: Ripple forward from tray & hotkey
New: Outline closest shot
New: Breadth first free slot
New: Send window to bottom

Change: Allow matching any selected expression or all selected expression
Change: Disallow use of the same expression in different groups
Change: Send KeysWait to try and fix SendKeys exception

Remove: Custom regular expressions
Remove: Ability to disable window groups
Remove: Backwards compatibility with pre-v1.0

Fold? Did you mean find? There are instructions on the wiki for adding support for a site.

Hey Patrick,

excellent job with PM 3.0! Not only did you add features but apparently the programme runs smoother as well. You might consider a small feature request. It would be nice to have a checkbox for each window group to enable or disable it. And in conjunction with that one specific regex should only be allowed in one enabled window group. Do you think that would be possible?

Cheers,
CV

jfresh,
I don't believe so. PlaceMint does make some direct calls to the winapi, so running PlaceMint on OSX is not as simple as installing Mono and running it. It would require some serious development time to port over the code that handles windowing and hotkeys.

Cardvark,
Disabling window groups was actually removed for v3.0. Since enabling and disabling required you to go through the configuration window, it is much easier to simply make two separate configurations. And then use the recent file menu to quickly switch between them.

I have 2 Q:

Is it possible to have like 2 stacks, a stack for 45's non final table and 45's final table ? I would differentiate between them like <300/600 bb level (non FT) and =>300/600 bb level (FT)

If 1 is possible would it also be possible to have each final table take a different place on my screen ?

Is this possible ?

Yes, this can work. You need to have make more specific expressions that matched just the blinds you want. When the title changes to the higher level, the window would be moved in the other group and moved into a slot of that group.

i set up new hotkeys today, since i had problems with an autohotkeyscript

now placemint suddenly moves _all_ tables to the slot i associated with a hotkey

eg before i used ctrl+A
now i use only A

when switching back to ctrl+A it works again...

tables work fine, but when i open up the tables the lobby spazzes out and keeps moving randomly to a new location(ipoker btw), I added a slot to try and fix it in one place but its not working. Any help?

is there a way to set the program up to just hit auto-tile every time a new table comes/goes? THanks

SoWe,
If you set up a slot hotkey, only the active window will be moved to the slot associated with the hotkey you pressed. If you set up a group hotkey, that would be something that can affect multiple windows. What the actual key combination is does not affect the result. However, I do suggest against using single letters, as it makes it very easy to accidentally trigger something while you are typing.

Jtringer,
PlaceMint is reactive in moving windows. So maybe when you open a table, ipoker tries to minimize the lobby or something. If you are not allowing minimization, PlaceMint will restore it, but it will only move the window to a different slot if the windows location moves.

czGLoRy,
You can pause PlaceMint and it will stop actively controlling windows. When you un-pause it, it will do a fresh pass of placing windows. Coming out of a paused state is similar to opening PlaceMint for the first time, it will not remember which slots a windows was in and try to place it back there.
PlaceMint: Window Positioning Tool Quote

yes i know that it _should_ move only one table
it is _not_ a group hotkey
it _does_ move all the windows in the group

or i should say _did_ since after upgrading to 3.x it doesnt move anything now... with neither ctrl+A nor A

i guess something with my computer is ****ed

nvm it seems to work now ... forgot to activate hotkey swapping in the 3.x

i am trying to get this setup to work for stars. i have my slots setup to play 12 tables on my 30in main screen. doing this i am unable to view the hand replayer unless i have all 12 slots covered, ie if i open the replayer with only 10 tables up the replayer goes to one of the open slots and it is unusable bc the slot is too small. how can i fix this? i have a 2nd monitor that i tried to put an extra slot on that was bigger, but the replayer window would not lock in the larger slot on the 2nd monitor. sorry if this has been answered already.

The win titles are almost the same and ahk_class are identical can you not just make the big slot the 1st slot and open the replayer when you open your first table then switch them? Then continue to open other tables.

This would be the simple solution IMO.

But the fact is that the titles are different. This is a perfect example of how window classes makes matching easier. Make a class expression of "PokerStarsTableFrameClass", this does the hard work of making sure than you are only dealing with PokerStars tables. Now you can make two simple title expressions signify the difference. Then you make two window groups that both use the class expression, but each uses a different title expression.

A similar thing can be done to divide blind levels between groups.

Is there any video/pdf tutorial available to download and watch, because, configuring placemint from the very beginning is a pretty hard task for people who have no experience at all .
As for me, I cant understand for example how can I move tables from 1slot to another=) etc... some basic info would be great. Because from what I read at the prog's page, I can't understand how should I configure it in a best way.

PlaceMint Wiki: This has all the information that you could ever need. However, don't be intimidated, you don't need to set every option the wiki talks about. See the Quick Setup Guide to see how simple a basic layout is.

Moving a window from one slot to another is as simple as dragging the window to the slot you want. If you want to use hotkey swapping, it must be first enabled in the options.

Getting the best setup is a little subjective as that really depends on things like your desktop size and how you want to play (stacking vs tiling). Once you know the basics of how to setup a basic layout, you have to use those skills and play with it to find the layout that works best for you.

I'm using the PlaceMint 3.0 Beta 2, and nearly every time I swap a table from one slot to another, I get an Microsoft .NET Framework error message. The table still swaps slots and when I press the continue button on the error message, the program continues to work. Didn't have this problem with V2.1.

Here are the complete details of the error message:

Oh def I just thought it would be easier as the titles are meh wish people would give things friendly titles like Table - xxxxxxxx and Replayer - xxxxxx
