Any ideas?
-----------------

I am getting this error also.

I updated to the 1.05.09 version. I was playing around with HM and went to view all the hands in the database. I had imported around 100K a month or so ago and was having lag issues so I stopped uning it and waited til they were fixed. I tooled around a little looking at some of the Stats and reports for a little while and everything seems smoothe. I decided to import my played hands since my previous import. I was looking to find out when the last hand date was so that I could import the rest of my hands since that date. Anyway, HM hung up on me and I shut it down. Now when I try to re-start HM I get the following error message:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Xenocode Virtual Appliance Runtime

This application has encountered an error: 0x8000FFFF, with the following description:

Catastrophic failure

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I run XP Pro fully updated, 4 Gig memory, .NET 2.0 with Service Pack 1.0, Java 6 Update 5, Postgre 8.3 (installed when trying to use PT3 and had no issues with HM previously and no issues with PT2)

Uninstalling and reinstalling does NO GOOD, the problem persists.

Roys response from the HM Forums on 6/9/8:

Quote:
Please reinstall holdem manager full update - this is the fastest way for you to get up and running again. Still trying to determine the root cause of this problem.

Thanks,

Roy

--------------------------

I uninstalled and reinstalled both the main app and the upgrade with no virus protection or firewall other than the standard XP Pro firewall with middle settings active. As soon as I try to start HM I get the same error.

I'll try using just the main install tomorrow and see if that helps.

Hopefully, you can get things sorted out soon. Maybe there is something wrong with the update routine and getting a full installer working with the new version would help.
I cannot upgrade becaue of the error showing anytime I use the upgrade link. Upgrading without ANY virus or Firewall software (other than Windows Firewall) does not help. Been waiting for Roys response, but he seems to be gone.

If you are referring to this one ...

Sorry you are having problems. What is preventing you from upgrading? I try to answer simple problems here but if you need more than a one-liner you would be better to post in our own forums or write support.
... yes I did. That was why I dug up my post from 6/9 both here and on the HM Forums and attempted to answer the quesions. I also sent an email to HM support a few days ago, but did not receive a read receipt, so not positive it was read/went through.

I read the response to the other poster having the same problem on 6/9 and Roys response to him. That info did not help.

Another poster indicated something about virus/firewall software possibly causing the problem ... it is not (as mentioned in my post above).

Roy also said something about repackaging 1.05.09 or 1.05.10 as a full installer. This is what I am hoping for soon. It is my (apparantly) ONLY hope of getting past 1.05.07.

Really looking for a way to delete hands - just left auto import on whilst flipping and when sending money to a friend.

Is there not an easy way via postgreSQL?

Sorry I didn't realize you had posted in HEM forums. Roy has been busy with 1.05.10 but I will mention your problem to him.

When you insert hands that partypoker sends to your email they don't get imported correctly. I play 100nl and they get imported as .50/.50 and 50nl. Also the replayer doesnt work with the hands in question. Can we get a fix on this?

Can we please get a HM tray icon that doesn't look so much like the HM HUD icon? Even inverted colours would do

eta on ongame database import support? bored of using PT2 for this when ive paid for HEM that stated it supported ongame. (ongame hand grabber is crap and misses lots of hands, didn't pay $90 for HEM so i could pay an addition $45 for a hand grabber to work with it)

the "EV $ Diff" stat in the hand list calculates the sidepots wrong. it calculates the overall EV difference for the whole pot, but not for the sidepot.

The font-size '7' doesn't work properly (7 = 6).

hi. I'm having trouble figuring out where to filter stats by blind level when using hud on tournaments. Is this feature available yet? Anybody who uses hud in stts, are the stats reset to zero each game? or am i doing something wrong? I've checked and unchecked everything! help please...

Roy, just want to say that if you were to add even the most basic of Omahahaha support (winnings and some basic stats) you would probably corner another nice chunk of the market. I think there are probably lots of us who are tired of using PTO and waiting for PEV!

How big of a deal is it going to be to add Omaha support? Seems like parsing the hh's shouldn't be too much tougher?

Hi guys, I'm still alive - just been completely focusing on 1.5.10 and a lot of it is extremely time consuming background work that will have nice payoffs in the end. I will get back to the posts - if there is an urgent issue then e-mail support@holdemmanager.net

Omaha support will very likely be coming but we have not started and do not exactly know when it will start yet. Still have a lot of work to do for Hold'em although most of the work that we do would be able to be moved to Omaha pretty easily.

Hey guys,

Sorry for asking because I am sure this has been addressed somewhere, but this thread is 51+ pages. Is there a way to list the numbers as $1,400 instead of $1400?

Thank you so much

Just d/l trial version and used the 5k hands limitation already. I have been using PT3 for the last couple of months but it's seriously putting me on tilt with crashes, bugs and HUD lag.

I play 16+ tables, and the trial period in HEM went perfectly. Before I part with my cash, as there 62+ pages here, can anyone inform me if there's any serious lag issues playing 16+ tables on Stars with the autoimport on and the HUD. I really need this to be lag/bug free. Also do you have a big database when autoimport is on, ie no lag issues the bigger the database etc.

It obviously depends on how good your computer is. 16 tables takes a lot of system resources.

My laptop is newish and can handle playing upto 24 tables on PT3 without HUD on easily. I tried 20 tabling on HEM with HUD before with the trial version and it was fine. My question is are there any lag/performance issues multi tabling with a large database size?

You should be able to - Close HM and go to:

C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Reports

and delete:

Overall.Report

Also - its a good idea to make copies of your HM Config folder as well as your Reports folder.

Once you launch HM it should create a new default report.
