BTW - do people here like/root for Black Tiffani? I've always found her to be grating/annoying, and during Restaurant Wars, really very tilting imo (so loud, no personality, can't butcher fish, can't cook an egg, etc. etc.).

Did anyone notice how during Judge's Table, when questioned about her horrible front of the house work, she quickly shifted the topic to the issues in the kitchen to deflect attention away? And then said "oops" as if that weren't her strategy all along?

My guess is that the team had a pre-arranged agreement not to throw each other under the bus, and of course, horrible Black Tiffani got the ball rolling on that.

I was really hoping she'd get bounced vs. Marcel. At least Marcel is amusing and (imo) more talented than her.

Since the other Tiffany's gone, I'm not sure she needs to be labeled "black Tiffany" in the context of recent episodes.

IMO, she's okay, just not a front of the house person. And throwing people under the bus is what people do. Disagreement = entertainment (for most at least).

And of course service has an impact on overall preference. It's ingrained in us as "general public". Is it make or break? Probably not, but there's certainly a lot more import than none.

Leroy - ah, sorry, did not mean anything by the appellation - just what I've called her throughout (and not nitty at all).

Oh, I also think it's fine to throw people under the bus. You gotta do what you gotta do.

What was irritating about Tiffani doing so is she seemed to feign that it was a slip-up on her part (vs. being intentional). That's really lame imo.

Black Tiff is Black Tiff and will always be.

I hate her when she talks to camera, she just says stupid **** always. It's hard for me to judge, because tbh I pretty much hate 90% of everything I hear from women over 30.

However, she does tend to make decent food, and seems like one of the more solid people there. She got stuck doing front of the house because she didn't want to fight about it- but obviously that's not her strong point.

I hate reading too much into what we see at Judges table since we know how heavy handed the editing is.

I like her just fine, and while I'd agree that Marcel makes for better TV, I think she's more likable than him in general. She's not a serious contender to win (that appears to be limited to Blais, Angelo, possibly Dale), but I think she tends to be underrated in this thread.

Ad Calc week. Shows that have run straight since Xmas take Super Bowl week off, shows that have had some kind of break since Xmas are all new. Networks compile #'s and start quoting advertisers for end of season sweeps.

Can Tre win? Is his food as good as, say, Tiffany F. or Marcel? As good as Dale? After 1.5 seasons of watching Tre on Top Chef I still have no clue how he rates compared to the elite chefs who have been on the show. He rarely wins challenges but he is rarely on the bottom either.

If I had to speculate, I'd say that Tre seems to be very good at cooking his proteins correctly, which keeps him out of trouble, but that he is not nearly as creative as Blais, or able to merge traditional/soulful cooking with modern techniques like Carla or Dale sometimes do very adeptly.

Also, Tre has not gotten much camera time or attention so far.

I'm surprised that some people have mentioned that Fabio should have been picked earlier because of his front of the house skills. As far as I can tell, everyone knew he would be good at schmoozing with the diners but no one knew that he would have such skill at controlling the flow of his dining room/waiters.

whats sick is i happened to go to Flip again for dinner that night. I go like once every 3-4 months and I happened to go 2x in one day. Just was in that area of Atlanta twice and wife wanted to go there for dinner. who was I to say no?

so as much as i wanted to order the chorizo again, I went with the burger of the day the 2nd time. It was a beef/pork combination meat, spicy, with cuban ketchup, lettuce, and potato crisps. A great burger, but chorizo is still the nuts imo. One day I'm going to try the Kobe

my dad often brags that according to Blais he's the only person to have eaten at every Blais restaurant (either that or Blais is blowing smoke haha).

I am rooting for him to win this very much as I've been eating at his restaurants for like 10 years (I'm 24).

And if not Blais, then Fabio. You have to respect someone who's using the Top Chef brand to cultivate his own image/Q-rating so well.
