I'd love for Coach to win/F3, but wouldn't Probst be calling this a GOAT season if that happened, like he did with BR's complete control season?

Why? I don't see any reason for Coach and Albert to stick together the whole way. It'd be bad for both of them. I think one of the two will go next, and the other will probably end up in the finals.

No. Probst thought BR was like the GOAT human and thought it was perfect for Survivor. Sadly their editing resulted in it being a bottom 5 season, but his overhype of it could easily be justified by the story of Rob finally getting there.

This is Coach. He was a joke before, he was never "robbed" of a victory, he was anyones opinion of GOAT player.

Side note: I know some people have expressed their dislike for Mario's funny 115 writing style, but you really should go check out #2: The Fall of Russell Hantz Part 2.

Because it's total garbage? Mario is not a good writer at all.

It's only good if you're out of Ambien. He might as well have just called it "Every Scene Russell Hantz Was Ever Involved In."

I thought I was almost done...and I realized I was only a quarter of the way through, so I gave up. I'm obviously biased, but it wasn't entertaining or funny at all. Mario has no ability to censor himself, and he just makes the same point 400 times. We get it, Mario: you hate Russell. We don't need you to remind us of it every four seconds.

EDIT: To be clear, I feel this way about all of his entries, not just the Russell one.

I mean all valid criticisms and I don't mean to say he's good or anything. I just feel that one was pretty amusing because you can just imagine him pounding on the keyboard typing why Russell sucks and shouldn't have won - when everyone already knows he shouldn't of won lol.

Then explaining the concept of "angry jurors are bad" over and over just adds to it.

There's a few lines I do enjoy too.

Idk, I found it amusing.

I read through much of it, and not only are there zero laughs, but his analysis of the game is cringeworthy. Dedicating 700+ images and several thousand words to the downfall of Russell is redundant and unnecessary enough, but to present it as if Sandra had a god damn thing to do with it, let alone somehow masterminded it (just like she did with Fairplay!) is to demonstrate a fundamental lack of understanding about both characters involved in the story.

The bond between pupil and master transcends the game.

edit: whoops, I misread and thought that said Cochran. Line would have been funnier then.

you never know what coach will do though. he could bring them along for honour reasons.

also depending on who wins immunity and when, and the threat of coach's hii, it could just work out that way.

I've never heard an episode of The Tribe, but I'm hoping that they picked the name for the show specifically so each episode could end with someone saying "The Tribe has spoken."

Only beef I had was with your Samoa Fincher analysis and how it contradicts your analysis of how Cochran not flipping would have impacted the South Pacific end game.

I think it's a little too much 20/20 hindsight analysis to say that at F10 in Samoa the players should have been angling to get to the F3 with Russell since he wouldn't get any votes.

To me that contradicts directly your contention that Jim would have been the favorite to win this season if Cochran had not flipped.

I would say that Jim would have been the favorite to lose votes for being the guy who masterminded the moves to get the remaining Savaii's out (assumaby Ozzy, Dawn, Keith if he gets his perfect F3 goats Cochran and Whitney) and because of that he would also lose "honor" votes from Coach and Brandon. In that scenario, I'm saying that Whitney is the favorite as she would probably get Ozzy and Keith's votes nearly 100% of the time and would just need 3 more from ex- Upolu.

TL/DR Cliffs:

If you think it's obvious that at F10 Samoa participants should have recognized that Russell couldn't win, why would you make Jim Rice the favorite to win at F12 if Cochran hadn't flipped?
If anything I think it would have been easier for the players who were out there with Russell to identify him as a goat by F10. Everyone who's been stranded 24/7 with Russell has testified that living with him is an ordeal, and as viewers can we make that judgement based solely on public information (e.g. his behaviour at Kelly's boot TC). I think you also overstate Whitney's likability; none of the bootees have had good words to say about her. It's certainly possible that she picks up spite votes from Savaii jurors, but imo Upolu would swing towards Jim even if they're not voting on gameplay. Juries tend not to look kindly on showmances either, so dragging her and Keith to F3 is a viable option for Jim.

Coach and Brandon would be less likely to vote based on 'loyalty' since it's not them whom Jim would be betraying. Coach voted for Parvati to win HvV even though she lied more than Sandra and was closely tied to Russell; if Jim won a few challenges along the way and wasn't too openly arrogant, I see him getting Coach's vote (and, by extension, Brandon's).

Apologies once again about the sound quality; I don't know why it was so bad (and neither does cstone, the Yankee bastard), as it was fine with the same setup last week. Hopefully I can fix it soon.

Gotta listen to that podcast. I hope Savage has a boss accent.

Early thoughts as I listen to first 5 minutes or so of podcast:

1. You need an intro, ldo
2. Savage has the boss accent I hoped
3. Colin you are a pretty good host.
4. Hopefully you can have Albert on the podcast. Maybe Jim too.
5. Get ESPN's Gary Wise, since he has interviewed the likes of Jim and Boston Rob.
6. Grand Master General K.O.S. needs to convince Cesternino to be a guest on this thing.

Overall I like this thing. Nice work boys.
