Spartacus: War of the Damned Spartacus: War of the Damned

I think that's the point. Batiatus and Glaber were such ****s, that while you loved watching them scheme and plot, you ultimately wanted them to fall. Now that we have Spartacus and Co committing the same atrocities against relative innocents I imagine a schism is going to form that leads to their downfall. I wish they would be a bit more subtle about it though.

Only particularly good characters left are Gannicus and Crassus. I still enjoy the show quite a bit but everyone else is either uninteresting or flat out annoying. Crixus has become completely useless, and he was one of the best characters in season 1.

the series has gone up to a new level of quality.

Spoiler:

Naevia to die in another one of her rage fits, causing crixus to go fully badass, causing the separation which historically happens between he and Spartacus

That new slave girl has a great little body, her stomach is dynamite. Gannicus's chick also has a great, great body.

I was hoping Crassus boy would get killed, but he did show he isn't a pussy, the guy had some skill.

Crixus looks odd with the long hair and beard, he kind of reminds me of a pornstar.

So what was the blacksmith doing to betray the rebellion? Just helping to hide the other Romans?

It's starting to show signs of turning for the better. I'm still just shaking my head at Spartacus' progression from warrior with charisma to guy who can ride horses, strategize about battles, etc.

I'm also not on board with the casting of Caesar. The guy looks like a cross between Stephen Dorff and Chris Hemsworth and just is not what I'd picture for Caesar. But I guess in that case they get points for thinking outside the box.

They showed Spartacus having good strategy skills back in season 1 when he played that game with Batiatus.

I honestly don't see how or why people get hung up on your first issue.

I think of Brad Pitt when I see Caesar.

He wasn't doing anything. Naevia's paranoia and hatred of Romans got him killed.

Props to the person who recommended the Hardcore History podcast upthread. It's pretty awesome and helps get you into the mindset people would have had at the time.

I think a lot of people skipped the first season, so they may not have seen that Spartacus was a pretty solid warrior and leader prior to being taken in to the ludus.

I actually think the kid attacking was the correct move. He just ran bad do to the fact the pirate guys had ship to shore weapons.

I may be wrong but those fiery balls of death were historically unaccurate, right?

Yes, but Starz has to realize that a good chunk of viewers are watching without knowledge of what actually happened, either because they're ignorant or just don't want to be spoiled. And although I'm the first to admit I can be kind of a nit about things like this, I think that if it stood out to me it might have for those viewers as well.

They were pretty much just big ceramic things with pitch that they lit on fire so I would think they had them but I don't know for sure.

What exactly is your criticism then? You realize they already referenced that Spartacus has a history in leading and warfare when Crassus is talking with Caesar.

You just have to deal with the fact that since this is the last season they pretty much skipped 2 seasons of Spartacus becoming more of a leader, it happened just go with it, Take the show for what it is, an awesome display of over the top sex and violence with an ending we all know.
